I love this place! We just stopped by on the way back home and I have to say, the birds are friendly as well as the owners and workers! They were so nice to us and so pleasant. They know so much about their birds and the history and take such good care of them as well. This is really a great place all around. Thank you for the memories, it was a pleasure to visit π βΊ π
Iβm so happy we found them while looking to get our first cockatiel. All the staff are very knowledgeable about the variety of birds and pets they carry. Due to the pandemic prices of them have gone up quite a bit it seems and I would happily pay the difference again for another bird from there. We knew she was social from the interactions we had when we found her and that all the birds are tested for a disease. One of the biggest things that I havenβt seen anywhere else do was them educating us on proper cockatiel care. I had birds in the past but my children hadnβt and they give you a detailed guide on what to do the first day, how you should set the cage up until they are used to climbing. It also covers the types of food and variety they should have.We later were looking for a male and they were out of cockatiels at the moment so we bought him elsewhere and the buying experience just didnβt compare at all. There it was a pick a bird and take them home. Unlike here where I felt confident about the bird they also are all banded and they keep the band information of your bird on file. Also she was far more social from the start and I believe it to be due to how they are taken care of and the breeders they pick to work with. She is the yellow pied on the right and he is the grey yellow cheek we later got
Excellent throughout! Our sales lady was Roberta and she could not have done a better job helping us get a parakeet for our daughter. So so sweet & professional. Will travel to go here from now on. Thanks all. Keep up the great work.
This place is wonderful for bird owners! We traveled almost 2 hours to come here and will definitely be back. I didnt get her name but the last who helped us gave us great advice on our cockatiel who just lost his partner of 11 years. Instead of just trying to make a sale, she gave us great tips on helping him and discouraged us from buying another bird.
What can I say? I have been going to bird paradise for over 15 years, as a customer as well as an enthusiast for avian hobbies. That being said, BP caters to all. The curious the nervous and the kids. Be respectful of where you are and youβll have a great time. Ask questions the staff is amazing at answering. You can tell they want you to enjoy birds as much as they do. BP is great, go check it out, If youβre a bird lover or not. The place may make you a bird lover!
Bought a rabbit (mini lop) from here the other day. I know they just started selling smaller critters. The staff def. Is more knowledgable with birds than there newest venture. We love our rabbit. Only complaint is his nails were to long. They also have hay cages and all the other stuff you will need!!! Our rabbit has a great personality!! Thank you for our newest edition to our family!
Staff needs some training, not willing to help a customer. Everything is always a problem, they do not listen or want to help a paying customer. The best advice they gave was to go to Todd Marcus Birds Exotic down the road. It was worth it. They lost a customer.
Edit- Its funny how the owners only response to negative comments is to please email us with your concerns. What good is that going to do? Clearly youre not interested in making any changes, so why not just put a sign on the outside of the door saying only professionals may enter, we decide whos a professional, but dont make eye contact with us... Truly pathetic.Very displeased with the service the store offers. They do have a lot of birds to choose from but good luck getting one to take home. The employees make it impossible to get any assistance around the store, and when you do get assistance the employees are very rude. One employee went so far as to say that we are going to kill our bird and we are unfit bird owners. I find this a little extreme and very heart crushing. This is really how you want to address your potential customers? Just go up the road to Todd Marcus, they have better service and just as many birds.
The staff there was very helpful they have everything you need for your bird
Best of the best place to buy a friendly baby parrot. To join your family Knowledgeable about the birds
The staff is great and very knowledgeable. Selection of products is wonderful to.
I absolutely love bird paradise!βΊ The staff is very kind patient and knowledgeable. My daughters father and I got her two parakeets which are very beautifulπ the older lady explained everything we needed and Tina was oh so very kind I love her ππ if I could give 10 stars I would
Drove 3 hours one way to visit this place. Ending up putting a deposit on a super sun conure. Had to wait until she was weaned so we drove back in 4 weeks to pick her up. The staff were very helpful, especially the one lady (gray hair, cant remember her name) but she went out of her way for us. We followed the instructions about getting her out the first few days and weighing her. Now she gets out of her cage and is a snuggle bug. She likes to ride around on my shoulder and when we sit on the couch she will flop on her back so she can get her belly rubbed. They obviously had to have given her good attention when she was there for her to be a daddys girl. The minute I get home from work she hollers for me to come get her. She crawls right up my shirt and tucks her head under my chin. I plan on getting another bird in the future and will definitely go back here to get it.
Very friendly staff and an insane collection of toys, food, perches! Love the build your own toy section!
This place is worth the far drive (from where I live)! This store has THE LARGEST selection of bird toys I have ever seen; besides the pre-assembled toys for sale, they had rows and rows of smaller toy parts so you can customize your own toys for a great price! They were very friendly and I loved that you can interact with the birds in the store (the cockatoos were great with kids touching them). The staff were courteous and seemed very knowledgeable. I will definitely be back for more supplies in the future.PS- I appreciated how the staff wore masks and upon entry, you spray down your clothes and dip your hands in disinfectant.
The staff was incredibly helpful, and they had everything we needed to get started at home with our 2 new cockatiels. They joked that they werent going to throw them in a box and say good luck, and we were so thankful for that. They spent a decent amount of time going over steps to properly care for the babies in the first few weeks. Weight check-ins every few days guarantee the birds and gave us peace of mind to make sure they were progressing as expected. We drove about 2 hours to get here, and we will definitely be back!
The owner was extremely rude and disrespectful and racially profiled my family. After being helped by an employee and taken to see the birds along with another woman and her child, the owner got involved and told my little sister that sheβs not allowed to be close or touch them even though the child of the other woman was literally holding the bird at the same time. After all of that, trying to purchase the bird she denied us and told us that she has to give us a class on how to take care of it. I also want to note that I own 3 of the same bird I was trying to purchase and have had them in my care for years. I would never recommend this place to anyone and would steer clear. Completely outrageous
I love this place. I just purchased a beautiful turquoise green cheek conure. Hes so friendly and seems to be doing well. Sherry was amazing she helped with everything, making sure I was completely comfortable and had everything I needed and more. Definitely will go here if and when I get another bird.
How I love Bird Paradise, let me count the ways....Knowledgeable StaffHands-on access to lots of birdsGreat food optionsExcellent varietyWhen we decided to add a feathered friend to our family the staff at Bird Paradise helped us along every step of the way. We made daily visits after our newly hatched friend was able to be handled and they taught us how to properly feed him. 6 years later and our little gentleman, Cheyenne, is one of the best behaved african grey parrots youll ever come across. That is due in no small part to the care and training that Bird Paradise taught us.
Although I miss the old staff rest in peace Mrs. C...I must say that Zena and the young lady who helped me yesterday with MY CONGO, NOAH were so patient and polite. They helped me with everything grooming, cage, toys, and food. If you are a bird love here is your TRUE ONE STOP SHOP! πππ―
Im glad they survived Covid-19. The only thing us when birds are sold, they should record the correct full species breed upon sale. Lorikeets are not just thst. There are different sub species...rainbow lorikeets...etc. Otherwise, if you have birds or need one or anything for yours this is the place to go. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.π
Amazing experience.. knowledgeable, careful caretakers and just a great time finding my new feathered friend.. Birds are beautifully cared for and seem like they have quality breeders because temperament is key!
Best place to buy a bird ..they treat u like family
Beautiful place and a lot of stuff for your bird or birds.
The most amazing shopping experience for me of all times! Visiting Bird Paradise can be an all day event. The fact that they have every conceivable food, toy, perch, book and cage pales to the actual, physical presence of the birds themselves. They have hand fed birds of all sizes and species, from tiny finches, parrotlets and parakeets to conures, African greys, eclectus, Amazons, cockatoos, macaws and toucans. The store encourages responsible interactions (dont forget to sanitize!) between customers and birds. Most of the staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and passionate about birds, and willing to share what they know. I love their policy of not selling unweaned babies, and I had the joy and excitement of visiting my Slender Billed Corella, Bill, as he finished weaning - it was also a wonderful way to develop a bonded relationship with him before bringing him home. I have lived with Bill for 12 years now. Thank you, Bird Paradise, for giving me my BFF!
Just purchased Love bird from Bird Paradise. Very informative and friendly. They really care about birds. The owner Kathy took her time giving us all the information needed to care for our new addition. Wide selection of products. Store is very clean. If you are looking for a bird make this store your only stop.
They have everything you need... great place to shop
Best buy of food and birds and services
I must have pocket dialed my first rating but Todd Marcus is one of the best birds places around. I have recently purchased a bird from them and the experience has been great so far. The staff is very helpful and courteous. They care a lot about their birds and also their customers. They only want the best for them and their years of service proves it.
Great place. The staff genuinely cares, takes time to go over any questions you have and get them answered. Knowledgeable staff and a great selection of brids, toys and anything else you could want.
We purchased two Cockatiels from Bird Paradise.Throughout the entire process, Zina was amazing. We could tell she really cares about all the birds in the shop. She was very helpful to us and took her time explaining how to care for our new family members. There is no better place to buy and care for your birds
I bought my green cheek conure here. Iβve been here many times for my other birds. Things are fairly priced and thereβs a good variety. IMO best bird store in the tri state area. Owners and shopkeepers are all very knowledgeable and love their birds; the birds all get time out of the cage, play time and fresh fruits and veggies every day. Although the birds are a tiny bit more pricey than the chain pet stores you definitely get more quality - these birds are tested for disease and a lot of them are hand fed as babies. Highly recommend
They have all the tropical birds that can thrive and survive in NJ. From Cockatiels to Toucans. They sell them as babies and are all hand tamed. They have healthy food choices so your not just feeding an empty calorie seeded diet. They sell bird everything. They have an online store that you can order your food and or other needed items for your parrot......mybirdstore.com go to the website and see for yourself. I wouldnt buy my parrot from anywheres else, Also if you buy your bird from there they will babysit your bird for $7.00 a day including food anytime, for vacations etc. That is an awsome deal.π£π¦π¦π€π¦’ππ¦ π¦π¦π¦©
Only place I go for great service for grooming my birds. Best healthy bird food for exotic birds.
Fun to go hang out with the birds. This place is great, you can hold the birds.Everything you need seed toys etc.
The people were very nice and helpful they helped me pick out a new cage and supplies for my parakeets the birds there were amazing and friendly and you were able to hold and pet them same with the bunnyβs and rabbits and thsoe aninals
We were greeted by an employee that was VERY kind, courteous, and willing to share her extensive KnowledgeBase of information. The CUSTOMER SERVICE was EXCELLENT! Thank you so much for TREATING people the way they should be treated! #respect
Customer service is terrible. Workers building bird cages in the aisles while theres a bunch of people waiting to pay and no one at the register.
Best bird store Ive ever been to. Great deals on bulk food, and they always have an amazing selection of birds for sale. Ive only bought supplies here though, never birds.
I recently purchased a Canary from Bird Paradise. The experience I had here was absolutely wonderful. Kathy(who I later found out was the owner) answered all my questions and educated me on all the proper care and necessities to keep my bird happy and healthy. She also took the time to help me pick out toys, food dishes, a special diet, and even climbed shelves to make sure I had the perfect perches! If you are considering a feathered friend I highly recommend Bird Paradise!
Good pricing and good selection but the cockatiels and conures always look so scared of anyone, even staff. Also, some look like they pluck.
The employees were very rude and made it difficult to purchase a bird. They didnβt follow through with the price on the cage of the bird I wanted to purchase. Overall a bad experience and will not be going back
So I got to the register and told them I wanted to purchase a parrot for Motherβs Day and the older white lady with grey hair said βwell you need a large wallet for those birds.βIβm not sure why she assumed why I didnβt but I have an idea.Im just take my proud black self to Todd Marcus instead. Thanks
A really nice store with very attentive staff. Also, they really care about the animals and the follow-up is fantastic!
It was many good different birds to much money for the birds there are way more than there supposed to be but they had a lot of different pets and some people were rude but there also is to many birds in one cage but it was fun
Lot of information giving to you here so be prepared to be here for at least an hour or 2. Nice people. Pricey
These folks love birds. They will tell you how you should take care of your pet and you should listen. They reserve the right not to sell to you if you dont take their recommendations seriously. A++
A very dishonest company, They would not stand behind their items sold. I would NOT recommend using this company for any of your pet needs.
Great seleccion, not de the best price.
Its okay a little to over priced for birds but great place
Came whit my wife enjoyed warm charm exotics birds π¦.
They were very helpful. Been using the wrong stuff for the bottom of my bird cage. Now using the stuff that is torn up tissue paper in the bottom. No more mold growth
Really amazing place. Wide selection of birds with knowledgeable and caring staff.
This store is great for when buying cages and toys and even food but when it comes to the care of the actual birds it makes me question the store. I felt bad for some birds, especially the green cheeks and the cockatiels. They didnt have any perches and were all in one spot. I recommend for the store to only get enough birds and not overpopulate the amount of birds you have and have enough room, perches and toys for all of them. But thats just me opinion. The store is better off as a supply store for birds than a pet store.
Its an experience you need to experience and will remember forever.
Place is too expensive why is sun concure 899. I can find it here local for 599. Staff there rude over phone they always hang up on me after I say how much for this. They get so aggressive if you ask about price which I donβt know why I have to find the price before coming in.
Beautiful place they have birds galore they let you handle them i got an baby female eclectus
Nice place always clean have beautiful birds and all the supplies you need for your Avian needs .Highly recommend ! Also great knowledgeable staff π A+++
Has what I need. No complaints
Birds paradise is a great place get a new feathery friend, to create your own toys, food mixes, or anything bird involved. They have everything you could need for your bird. They also were getting some smalls mammals in when we were there (bunnies, hamsters, etc.). They did change their grooming hours to just Thursdays and Fridays because of covid which was very inconvenient when we drove our 2 birds an hour to get them groomed there on a wednesday. We ended up going a couple miles down the road to another bird store for that. Anyway, the employees were very nice and helpful although their face masks kept falling down their face. We were able to socially distant well enough and had a great experience overall. Loved bird paradise!
Great selection and very knowledgeable staff. Your not going to find anything like it.
Love it. Always buy my Doddle the best products at Bird Paradise
The staff dont handle the birds regularly. Therefore, the birds bite a lot. The birds are scared of people. There arent enough staff in the store. The staff arent helpful and the entire place is chaotic. I dont know why this place is rated so highly on google. If you are looking for bird supplies, there is an abundance of supplies and toys. I reccomend this place only for supplies.
Wish I could give more them 5 βοΈ.I have been ordering from this company for over 10 years (I think close to 18 years??) They are quick and reasonably priced. They have saved my butt many times over when I forgot to order bird food and they got it to me quickly. Their customer service is one of the best Iβve run across. If I have questions they are quick to help and resolve any issues I may have...not that Iβve had many issues in the last 10+ years. I highly HIGHLY recommend this company & have recommended many many bird/parrot lovers & bird clubs to this store over the last 10 years. Looking forward to continuing ordering from this company in the coming years.
Birds are super over priced, I bought a Congo African Grey 8 years ago for 1k. I went to see if maybe I bought another one but they jacked up the price to 4500!! Thats insane inflation, I thought maybe something happend maybe restrictions or they are an endangered specie but according to Google the average price for a Congo African Grey is 1k to 1500. Other than that the people are great and they have alot of birds plus supplies.
Great deal on bird food cashier very helpful and friendly
Tl;Dr: There is good staff, Wide selection of bird products (Flight harnesses, food, perches, etc.) A good store for anyone with or possibly wanting a Bird!((Please leave youre bird at home.))Staff - Some are much more approachable than others are. They all seem to have a good knowledge and respect for the animals, and products that they have.Animals - A lot of the staff here have parrots and care for the ones in store as their own. They know the personalities of almost all the bird types and they have a wide selection of birds from finches to macaws.Toys/Care items - They have a very wide selection of toys at a reasonable price as you can interact with them unlike online. They have a okay amount of care items (I will update after looking at my next visit) They do have a wide range of flight harnesses and regular harnesses.Cages/perches - This is the best place for bird cages in person and by far the best place overall to get a perch! They have a room dedicated to cages alone, they have a large java wood section (a safe perch for parrots though expensive) they have grooming perches as well.Food - They have an amazing food section and a nice staff who know about the food and it is all fresh. They let you sample as well to learn what your bird(s) enjoys! This is the best way to buy food. They also have history and can give recommendations on food for your bird.
I enjoyed only one part of this store - being able to interact with the birds was a great experience, however the staff all were quite terrible. I have never experienced a store where every staff member I encountered was unpleasant or unhelpful until I came here. The ones I interacted with did not seem practically disoriented, and one even got an attitude with me when I asked a simple question five minutes before they closed.Furthermore, I had to rescue multiple cockatoos, which had their wings clipped, from the floor after they fell from their play areas. On top of that, another large bird who did not have clipped wings got out of his cage because an employee left a latch open when taking his water dish out. After being there for more than an hour, we noticed this bird still did not have water. But the bird was climbing around his cage and I went to try to help him back in and he was clearly going to bite me if I got close. All the birds in this store seemed terrified of people and the store seemed very unkempt.
I shop both in the store and online and love this store! This is a quality bird store and I highly recommend it. Iβve bought everything from a 7 foot Java tree to individual toy parts to make toys for my parrots to bulk food. Iβm never disappointed and have recommended it over and over again. ππ¦π
How this store is an actual business and gets good reviews is beyond me! (Maybe some fake reviews?!!)Because of all the good reviews and their adorable Facebook Lives, I decided this would the perfect place to buy our family our first bird. I had them growing up and I was so excited to have a new baby. When we first arrived we looked around and noticed every bin had dirty water and the bins smell horrendous! Like they have been cleaned in a good while, i even noticed MOLD!! Thinking maybe they were a little behind on cleaning we tried to find an employee to help us handle the birds like the signs said. We were told by Zina (yes, i remembered her name because i tried to make a joke about similar names and she just glared at me) to just go in there. Before we went back into the bird room we bumped into someone who purchased a cockatiels a few days before and got talking to them. They said they were there for their first of 4 manditory weight check so we asked if they wouldnt mind us listening in. Which I now regret doing because the woman with frizzy brown hair and glassed ripped into these poor people! Apparently the weight had dropped a 5 grams and this upset the frizzy haired woman. She screamed at them telling them they were unfit bird parents, said they were going to kill the bird by the end of the week, and even had the nerve to accuse them of lying about how long the bird was out of the cage. When i went back to Zina to make a complaint about what we were witnessing she said thats what happens to people who have no business owning a bird and who refuse to listen to our rules. At that point we left, went to Todd Marcus down the road and had a lovely experience there. They had BEAUTIFUL macaws there and the people were so sweet! We will be going back in a few days to pick up our new conure baby! Save your time and money and go straight to TODD MARCUS!!!! Bird Paradise should be ashamed of themselves.
Quick fast and good price. Wonderful people
So many birds and great people!
I was completely satisfied with the service and the information I received. Kathy Lance was completely knowledgeable in directing us in finding the perfect bird for my grandson. She was very patient, helpful and walked us through finding the right bird cage, food and accessories. I highly recommend the store. The store was very clean and organized. Our bird is very healthy and without fault. It fits perfectly with our family. We could not be happier.
Always love coming here!
Loved it. they have everything for birds.
I walked in there and I was disgusted for the tiny birds there was at least 5-7 birds per cage and strips of millet I think I saw at least two feather pluckers.
Clean and well stocked.
We absolutely love this store. They have the best selection of toys, foods and other items, with a great build your own toy section that allows one to make really creative bird toys for an extremely agreeable price. While they may not always have certain bird species in stock at any given points, they do have a good selection of birds. Most importantly, the birds we have met there are extremely friendly and have been well handled and taken care of. While they are not as frequent with sales, the sales they do have are great; additionally, they are various online coupons and rewards for certain amounts spent that more than make up for this. A lot of their prices are reasonable and they often have really great used cages that are in good condition and priced great. They have a great grooming service as well. We are very happy customers of this store and plan on going here for years.
This is the most amazing place for anything bird-related. Found the place after we moved (and already had a canary) and bought everything here. First canary has passed but we got a beautiful american singer yesterday. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Will even steer you elsewhere when they do not have what your bird needs. Run by bird lovers for bird lovers.
Great people. They really care about the birds. They answer all your questions and give you plenty advices for you new pet. If you are looking for a bird, you go first to Bird Paradise
