I just had an ice cream with my baby brother. Everyone was friendly. Once I started my ice cream I notice a short black hair in my ice cream. At first I was absolutely disgusted, then I told myself mistakes happen. As we are about to use the restroom because ice cream dripped on our hands, we are told that we are standing in Ben & Jerry’s too long. And even though we asked nicely, we are not allowed to use the restroom. I will never be back here, I simply wanted to enjoy my ice cream and wash my hands. Instead I find a hair, am I told I’m not allowed to stay inside that long even though I’m a customer, and the manager gets to decide who can use the bathroom and who can’t. Thank you for that.
Lots of new flavors to pick from! So yummy! No Indoor Or Outdoor seating at this time.
İf you like Ice Cream and you are in Burlington, VT, you dont have a shortage of great options to choose from. Even with the many local choices, visiting Ben and Jerrys can feel iconic given their history. We prefer to emphasize single scoop to be able to enjoy the ice cream before it melts and either come back for more or try the other local joints. Thus, the & symbol upon entry feels quite appropriate.
The ice cream is always good... But, if I come to Vermont and go to Ben and Jerrys, I want something I cant get in ShopRite. They dont have anything unique. Also, the gift shop is closed so theres a pop up cart outside that is sold out of all the good stuff, and there are no factory tours until November. Could have been better.
Visited on a cold day and they were busier that I would have expected. I got to try a flavor I had not ever seen in the stores which was nice. Only complaint was the staff - the one who took my order wasnt necessarily rude but was not friendly either. As I left, a longer line had formed and an employee was pretty rude to the people in line, demanding they step out of the store and kept backing them up. The customers were complying but were being treated like little children anyway.
So many great flavors to choose from, I suggest coffee coffee buzz buzz buzz, New York super fudge crunch, phish food, or literally any of them. Also it smells amazing in there.
Unilever-made ice cream in a total tourist trap. At least the cones are fresh and crispy. Skip this and find some truly local ice cream shop.
Interesting staff. Flavorful options including vegan non dairy. Very busy and clean establishment.! Come for the ice cream and stay for the church street fun. 🙂
The ice cream was awesome! The service was slow, but 6 of ordered cones. Im sure it would have been much faster if there were less of us. No public restroom or seating available!
The mother ship. Odd hours of operation, but you do you. Ice cream was delicious. I was warned that my choice was soft and gave me a cup with my cone. Nice gesture. They were right and the ice cream was better for not being hard frozen. Very serious about Covid as is the VT custom (and I appreciate it).
Service was unbelievably slow and unorganized there was 6 people waiting around and it took 45 minutes to get through 3 people’s orders. They give paper straws which may be good for the environment but do not actually function as straws because they let so much air in. Over all extremely disappointed I probably could have gone to shaws and made my own shake in a fraction of the time.
Love their ice cream and their store! Such a cute environment. Highly recommend!
My kids were happy with their options and choices. I need to be gluten free and unfortunately chocolate free. That left me with Strawberry ice cream or a few sorbet flavors. The service was quick and friendly.
This place was an utter rip-off. Obscenely over priced for what was delivered. We felt very unsatisfied after what was supposed to be a nice treat.
Prepare to wait in the line for soooooo long... Even when seems to be not crowdy.... Good ice cream
A bit of a line but friendly staff and quick service
Got a stale waffle cone when I went in tonight. I went back and asked for a new cone and was told that their cones are made fresh daily so that wasn’t possible. I showed them the cone was stale and was met with rolled eyes and scoffs. I got a new cone and left in a hurry because of the poor customer service only to bite into the cone and it was even more stale and chewy than the one before. Not worth it for paying over $7 for a cone.
They have amazing peanut butter cup ice cream 💜 and Amazing ice cream and it’s my happy place
Great ice cream that will hit the spot everytime
Great ice cream. The line was long and a bit crowded.
Delicious 😋, chocolate therapy and coffee were Great 👍, nice staff as well!
This place has great ice cream but a long line, the line is worth it for great ice cream
I was happy with my ice cream. But the waffle cone couldn’t hold the ice cream it was dripping down the sides and out the bottom the cone was unrolling and making a mess and I couldn’t even finish the the rest of the ice cream or cone and the cone is the best part.
The ice cream is good, but $21 for 3 small cones was way too expensive.
Do yourself a favor and go to the original store in Waterbury. We walked up and the person SITTING in the doorway of the shop, (because we do NOT stay in doorways at this time!) had the nerve to géstapo us, enter fake, nice voice, “You folks are going to have to do me a favor and stand back there behind the orange cone”, points to a cone over 5 feet away. The customers in the store were about 20 feet from that cone. I am ALL about safety, I’m the person who won’t eat inside, who never breaks rules, but if you’re going to use your imagined power to force people to stand 20 feet away while you sit in the doorway, and act all cocky, I’d rather just get my Ben & Jerry’s elsewhere, thanks!
What to vist the factory but it was opened but this took it place . It was busy but the line was fast. Hopely I get to see how the ice cream is made.
Cookie dough, New York fudge and half baked flavors were beyond excellent and tasted far better than what you find in store shelves! Would definitely visit again!
Closed tours but great ice cream
The ice cream was delicious here and yes, Im a Vermonter.
I wanted to buy ice cream today and also quickly visit the bathroom. I saw no bathroom signs, which struck me as odd if its for covid reasons, as covid is passed by air mainly. When I asked if I can use the bathroom and explained that Covid doesnt pass from toilets, the staff explained that because of Covid, the bathrooms are very dirty from more than a year of not being used. Hmm 🤔 I guess all the cobwebs crossing the rim of the toilet seat make the bathroom unusable. Sounds like a reasonable explanation!
Lovely selecting of vegan and non-vegan ice cream and other treats!
Everyone knows Ben and Jerrys. Great location. Quick line and friendly staff.
I was looking for an ice cream and after paying 7.75 usd I got a piece of sugar. Disgusting. If you want a good ice cream look for an icre cream shop, not this. This is just a name.
Great service! Awesome ice-cream!
One star they rely too heavily on addins instead of the actual icecream itself and completely got my order wrong 😑 would never go again the only reason I put any stars was because they are lgbtq+ friendly
Free scoop for your birthday. Yay Amy Miller
Overpriced and overcrowded. good ice cream but a little pricey
Great chocolate.
Love your ice cream
If the person serving doesnt like the way you look they will give you a literal cup of milk that isnt even filled to the top for the $8 you paid for a milkshake and brush you out the door. Pathetic service. Really sorry for leaving a tip, that wont happen again.
Salted caramel, coffee coffee buzz buzz buzz, chocolate fudge brownie, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Always friendly wonderful place overall, my one complaint is that the ice cream can be very heavy
Went for a some hot chocolate. Really nice on a cold day. Ice cream is good too, plenty of flavors to choose from.
Small but great ice-cream
Horrible. Avoid at all costs.
Shangri-la for ice cream lovers
Too sweet, but I guess it would depend on your taste.Edit: The owner reached out, and I tried a different flavor that wasnt as sweet. Very impressed with their customer service.
Absolutely love Ben & Jerrys. We dont have one close to us so when we are doing shopping on Church St its a great place to stop. Perfect location, great ice cream, and a great atmosphere whats not to like.
What a fantastic experience! Had to check it out while on vacation and was the highlight of our trip! The tour is definitely worth the time. They also gave me a free cone for my birthday which was a great surprise! The flavor graveyard was also pretty cool. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the ar
I absolutely love ice cream so its 5 stars for me. The line is usually long here, but the staff is fast and friendly when they get to you. They sell all of the ice cream flavors and souvenirs like stickers and T-shirts. Its not that expensive as far as ice cream places go. We got a total of four scoops on two waffle cones for about $13 including tax. Sometimes the seating fills up fast.
Loved them from the very beginning. Hands down the best ice cream. Ate in the bus inside their store in Burlington. It was great for my grand daughter so it made our visit memorable for us. Had a new flavors to try and pick my new favorite. Cant wait to go back in the future. They were staffed well. Couldnt make up my mind so let some go in front. Still didnt take long to get waited on a few minutes later when I came to a decision. A must see and go and try some ice cream or sorbet or non dairy. You may think its pricey but really its not. The higher fat content fills up you up with less. And if you pick a flavor with stuff in it, they dont skimp on added items in the ice cream. Go try them, take the family, take your friends, go with a co-worker, just go and enjoy!
People working were not polite at all
Rich flavor
First time visiting Ben and Jerrys ever. Price shock was real, but can understand why. Great tasting ice cream and the waffle cones were awesome too. If were ever in Vermont again, we will come back!!
Definitely dont miss touring this place, its so much fun! Take some time to pay your respects in the flavor graveyard to all the flavors who have come and gone, and weep for your favorites (*bring back apple pie!*) And if you dare, take the ice cream challenge at the end...though you may need a wheel barrel to get back to your car.
What can I say! Its Ben and Jerrys ice cream. Triple caramel crunch cone--yummy. Small line but friendly service with a smile. No need to be in hurry here. Come and enjoy...
Very tasty. Reasonable prices for the flagship store. Staff was accommodating with free samples. The VW bus was a nice touch
Ditch the paper straws.
Whats not to love? Great ice cream, a great company, and a staple of Vermont culture. If youre visiting, new to the area, or just happen to be on Church Street, stop by and get yourself a cone of any of their amazing flavors! The limited edition ones that they only have in the shop are always great and never disappoint!
Its hard to give this place anything less than 5 stars. I mean, whats not to love? Unique flavors to the shop, plus all the staples and favorites. Always go for a waffle cone. Tip: order by the scoop instead of by the size.
Go to get ice cream and customer service was awful Wrong ice cream would not fix and when i asked for napkins and got snapped at.. came on aug 17th after 5pm. Will not come back if service is gonna be like this.
Good taste.. if you take one large you will get 3 scoops. You may pick 3 different taste. You can take waffle extra if you want.. it will be around 1.5$.. and the large scoop will be around 6$ which is sufficient for two ppl.. really.
I went in for an ice cream cake i needed that day. The line was long but the 2 counter works were smiling and taking care of the customers. There was a clear sign about how to get a cake and i waited my turn. The counter worker laid out my options, was patient, and frankly happy to be there. I commented on their busyness and he said it was a great experience he was excited and thankful for.It was a great example of great customer service and dedication to the mission of a company.Ill wait for that kind of service (and great product) any day. As an ice cream lover and supervisor, thanks for both.
Who doesnt like ice cream!!!!
Happy, sweet, efficient.
Sizes are huge. A small cake cone was satisfying. I also counted 38 flavors they were scooping. Love Ben and Jerrys!
Ugh! If you like chaos here it is. Try to avoid during peak hours! Only one of the 2 restrooms was available so another long line. Ice cream is good.
Service is great and ice cream tasted good! The only downfall is the wait time especially on Saturdays where the line curves out the door. I think it would be quicker if they had menus with descriptions for the different ice cream flavors so people could order quicker (main menu is around the corner and too far away from the end of the line usually).
