I have been looking for a Mother of the Brides Dress for a few weeks. No luck what so ever until today when My daughter and I entered the Dress Boutique at Merle Norman,Burlington, NC in Alamance Crossing. Where we were greeted with open arms even though we entered the boutique thirty minutes before they were due to close. As mother of the groom looking for a dress I was very stressed. I was behind on getting a dress, I had just moved and I didnt know where to begin. I had been to many stores looking for a dress with no luck or much help. I knew about the Dress Boutique from my daughters prom days but didnt know they carried mother dresses. I called and made an appointment and decided to go ahead and drive 30 minutes to see the dresses the day before the appointment. While I was there I was told I could be helped if I didnt mind waiting. I didnt mind waiting to try on dresses, the day before my actual appointment, and needed the help. Wanda, the owner, helped me. She didnt just help me, she CARED for me. I had already watched her help numerous girls with their moms pick out prom dresses and knew I could trust her judgement. Her knowledge and 40+ years of experience of dresses was just what I needed but her thoughtfulness went way beyond just getting a dress. The experience overall was good. Dresses were very pricey but the service was good and the employees were helpful. However, as soon as I walked in and I was looking at dresses I saw two people run past me giggling and bumped into me. At first I thought they were just people buying dresses there but it turns out that they were employees. This certainly did not give a very good or professional first impression. Of course, this does not apply to all of the employees there. But the employees seemed to be a bit young and did not act very professional.

So many beautiful dresses to pick from and the staff was attentive and helpful even while the boutique was very busy. My daughter found her dress and got to ring the bell! Came out with a gorgeous prom dress! Wasnt planning to really buy a dress that same day but I can truly say I found the dress! Not worth the drive... they do not have any of the prom dresses posted on their website. Store is cramped and unorganized... you have to go to 6 or 7 different racks to see all the dress in the size you are looking for. Selection was disappointing. Other stores have much better selection.

My niece was treated incredibly rude and disrespectful today while her and her friend were shopping today. The young girl that was suppose to assist her ignored her for the most part and head woman, body shamed a beautiful young woman! Just know we will find her the perfect prom dress elsewhere and we will be sure to tell anyoneand everyone not to shop here!

The staff was very friendly. However, it is very time consuming because only employees can zip and unzip prom dresses. The arrangement of dresses are everywhere. I feel girls could get serviced faster if the dresses were organized and hung by same style, color and size instead of by price. The current set up requires you look through every rack in your size that is there. They had several employees there but it seemed the lady that serviced my daughter was doing most of the work! I hope they recognize her work ethic.

Went here thinking we were gonna get a beautiful dress for my junior prom. As we walked in, the man that was helping people create an account made fun of what I was wearing (ripped jeans and a shirt). He said did you get into a motorcycle accident? and began to laugh. I shook it off and began shopping. The dresses were HORRIBLY over priced, over $300 for a plane red dress? I dont think so. I walked around and decided the only dresses that I was interested in were on display. We went to the front to give the man the dressing room buzzer back and he asked why we were leaving, I told him the only thing i was interested in was on display. He wouldnt let us leave so he made me show him which dress and he took it to the front until it was my turn for a dressing room. We asked how long it would be until a room was opened and he said an hour to 2 hours. We waited around and I decided it wasnt worth waiting that long to try on one dress. We went to the front one last time and told him we were not interested anymore and proceeded to walk out. As I walked out, we seen him shake his head and make a sarcastic sound bashing us for leaving. Horrible experience.

Loved this place. I’m telling everyone and the selection was great. This was the 5th place we visited and my daughter said yes to her senior prom dress. I’m glad the staff helps with the dresses. We went to another dress store where the dresses were not in bags. They were dirty and if I’m buying a new dress I do not want one that wasn’t taken care of before it was purchased.

They were very rude when my friend and I went to look for dresses. It should be fun to try on prom dresses with your bff but it was terrible!!! They would refer to her as “that girl” and they knew her name.
