Extremely passive aggressive. Sweeping at peoples feet, locking the door as they are trying to leave. This man is not stable. They may be hardworking, but only at making themselves completely miserable. This happened yesterday, so I have to agree with the many other negative reviews at TripAdvisor. These people are sealing their own fate. The woman was as unpleasant. Misery loves company, should be the store name.

We went into this store because we saw some cute things in the window, but I am sorry I did. The owner was very rude when I was looking at a pillow we wanted to purchase he told me do not touch that unless you plan to buy it. I felt to uncomfortable I started to walk out of the store and he followed after me complaining about tourists in his store. I will not be returning!

These people are genuine hardworking small business owners. Caroline’s tastes are exquisite. My friend Emilie from NOLA told me about them and I am so happy we came here. Ignore the negative reviews.

My wife and I own an inn in the lakes region about an hour from Camden. We love visiting Camden to purchase decor from local shops. We entered Star bird and was interested in purchasing a beautiful hand painted tissue box ($68), two blankets ($115/each), and (2) pillows ($98/each). We were delighted to find one of a kind items to add to our collection at our Inn. Things turned sour when I took a picture of one of the pillows we wanted to purchase to send to our manager to check if it would match in one of our rooms. The owner was incredibly rude and said no photos allowed. I did not see any signs posted and apologized. When I thought that was the end of the conversation he began to berate us and accuse us of wanting to find the item on the internet. We as business owners take pride in supporting local shops to create a special and unique ambiance for our guests. He continued to accuse us and i told him that he just lost customers and that we found him to be very rude. He continued to accuse us (and laughing) as we walked out of the store. This type of behavior was astonishing especially during these very difficult times we are living in. Small businesses should support eachother. Sadly, we have crossed Star bird off of our list. There are so many other wonderful shops in Camden to support. I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere.

Owner was condescending and very rude. My sister and I immediately felt unwelcome, watched, and judged as we looked around the store. We were going to purchase something but left due to feeling uncomfortable. If this man wants to keep his business, I suggest a major attitude adjustment or a crash course in how to be friendly to customers. Highly do not recommend.
