Just bought a used car this year knowing that it would need some work put into it. After driving the hell out of it for work I noticed it was time to check on the tires, fluids and breaks ect. A friend recommended motorpool and I’m so glad I found a great place I could trust. They told me what needed to be done, what the cost was going to be more or less and got back to me quickly when my car was ready to be picked up. I love this shop! The office staff is really nice, and good about keeping in touch with you throughout the process while your vehicle is in there. And if there’s something in their shop can’t specifically do, they will refer you to someone good who can. I’ve been using the shop in our really long time, over the lifespan of four different vehicles. As long as I live in San Jose, I will be coming to motorpool.I appreciate their straightforward honesty, even if it’s bad news. They are really good about telling you whatever problems they encounter with your car, the risks, and the solutions.

My appointment was confirmed by text, and approval of all cost estimates were by text as well, which was very convenient. Steven, the owner, and Dell, the mechanic, were helpful. They communicated promptly, with detailed explanation of costs and pictures of damaged parts. I had a great experience and would recommend them highly.

This place reminded me to review them by spamming me on my cellphone for a service 7 years after visiting them. I was a naive new car owner then.They made me change my filters on a new car (complete with scare tactics) in addition to the oil change. They stuck a sticker on the back of my car for a 10% discount on labor.While they had provided a discount on the upcharged labor they also upcharged me for the filters. Basically they charged me two times the OEM price. Must be really hard to procure them I guess.This is the place to get a nice fleecing as a new car owner so that you are forced to learn from your mistakes and invest more time in understanding the wants and needs of your car. Never trust a mechanic has been my motto as a car owner thanks to this place. Talk about a dark origin story...lol

Motorpool performed the 60k-mile service on my Lexus, per the factory specs. I got an appointment right away and the work was done in less than 2 hours while I waited. They were very accommodating and patient with me since 2 weeks prior the car had to be towed because rodents had chewed the cables to a cylinder. I highly recommend this shop because they are knowledgeable and customer service focused.

I have taken my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 truck in numerous times over the last 2 years for a number of issues. I purchased the vehicle in 2019 with over 150,000 miles knowing that there would be various maintenance and high mileage vehicle issues down the road, but that it was in overall very good condition for its age and mileage. Every time Ive taken it to Motorpool Automotive Ive been treated like family and the staff have been upfront with needed repairs and their pricing has been fair and I have not been charged for anything that wasnt absolutely needed to make the truck safer or more reliable. Of particular note was a recent fuel system problem that was very difficult to diagnose. Shop owner Steven researched the problem on his own time and discovered the problem was a recurring issue with many Dodge Rams of this era. This is the kind of issue that a dealer or large chain repair shop will often fleece an unwitting customer, and the professionalism demonstrated by Motorpool Automotive is unmatched. Only place we’ll take our cars. Honest, fair value, and will suggest, not push, services you’re going to need soon. The guys in the office are friendly and conversational, and the owner Steven is great.Additionally I think they still have the sticker deal going on. If you put one of their company stickers on your car, you get 10% off oil changes. I mean don’t quote me on that in case I am way off base, but they had it before so I’d ask. It’s the only sticker on my car as that’s not usually something I like. But with how much they’ve helped me out over the years, it’s the least I can do.

They were reasonably priced, reasonably fast, and kept me informed — digitally even — of the progress on fixing my AC. My only complaint, and it’s small, is that they pulled everything out of my glove box and then left it on the passenger seat floor rather than putting it back.

I had a rush to get the maintenance done by the same day I brought my twenty year old Honda Cr v in at noon and these guys worked three hours extra during the holiday season just to get my car ready for the drive to Arizona the next day. My car was laking on maintenance for five years or so, and they got it all done in one day. They did multiple brake/suspension/engine repairs and updated me with the pictures on what they changed in. Fantastic job and fantastic service. I can definitely recommend this place for everyone.

Thinking I’d need to spend the next few days shuttling my truck between 3 different auto shopsTire place recommended motorpool for the alignment, (for which I was given a 10% discount) Unfortunately, there were other issues with my power steering and front end suspension. Every time I hear someone ask about good mechanics, I always say Motorpool is the place to go. Ive been a loyal customer for 5+ years because they are communicative and transparent about diagnosing your car issues and they wont quit until they figure out to get you back on the road again. They have taken care of every car issue Ive ever had and the crew is great, which is why I drive down from San Francisco to see them to this day.

Steve and the team at Motorpool are trustworthy and dependable, and they truly support their own staff and their customers in ways I rarely see at an auto shop. I had a no start issue with my car at 5pm one night and I had work the next morning. Steve came out on his own with a jumper pack without hesitation and helped try to jump it. When we found the battery to be completely toast, he did me one better and actually ran to a local parts store and got me a new battery. I’ve never had a mechanic go to such lengths to help me out of a jam, and the owner at that.Good folks all around, and they have a lot of love for the community they’re a part of. My car needed wheel alignment and I call my usual tire place for help. We dont do that, the tire place replied. But you can go to Motorpool. They will take care of you.So I called Motorpool and got a quote over the phone. I called a few other places and found they have the best price. Couple with lots of positive reviews, I decided to make an appointment and take my car there.On the day of the appointment, I got there a little earlier than my appointment time. The manager quickly took my keys, explained to me how long the process will take and let me enjoy their waiting room.It was a very nice waiting room. There is a big screen TV, coffee bar with snack bars, clean bathroom, comfy sofas and chair and toys for the little one.The alignment took about an hour, which was what the manager had told me. He showed me the computer read out and left me with a print out of the work done.I was impress with the good price, professional and friendly service. I will bring my car back if I have other maintenance needs.

The service was pretty awesome. I took my car to fix at the dealership but they overcharged me and the diagnostic report showed fault in things I did not needed any fixing. Then I called Motorpool during the start of the pandemic, they came to my place to pick up my car which was not properly drivable, fixed it and gave me detail on the problem with my car and after the a week of fixing my car I had major problem in my engine. Luckily Steve the owner was helpful enough to tow my car at his expense and fixed it and took responsibility and gave me a huge discount for fixing my car. The staff were honest about the problems with my car and gave me best suggestions. I highly recommend this place and defiantly not taking my business elsewhere.

I initially brought my old 76 Corvette in for some diagnostics and service. They did a great job replacing the engine mounts, oil change, and even took it for smog testing for me.More recently I brought in my 2016 Jeep Renegade for an inspection and oil change. Motorpool did a great job of locating an electrical problem and fixing it. This was done on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend without an appointment.I had my van back in two hours, and at every step of the process they observed strict, no contact procedures. It was a pleasure finding this place.

I am not originally from this area and I needed to have my front head light and back tail light replaced on my car and I don’t own a socket wrench set which I would need to replace the back light. Motorpool Automotive got really good reviews online as being fast, friendly and reasonably priced. I called them this morning and they told me just to pop on by.It took a little over 30 minutes from when I entered the shop for them to be completely done. Joe, the guy at the front desk was super cool and happy to help. The owner Steven, came out when my car was done and said, “I’ll make a deal with you, if you let us stick one of our decals on your back window, we’re even.” I couldn’t believe that they would do the work and replace the lights for free, in exchange for a minor bit of advertisement on my end!Everyone in the shop was really friendly and they have an awesome coffee/tea and snack bar for you while you wait, along with a free arcade game, movies and video games in the waiting area.I will totally go back there if I need future service, will recommend them to my friends and I’m definitely going to leave them a few good online reviews also.Thank you!

Every once in a while, you come across competent and honest folks, like this, hold on to them. Unfortunately, weve become used to being on guard for the bait and switch or the gotchas (we found you need a new engine) and upselling nonsense. I had been looking for a new, local shop when I won a gift certificate for Motorpool! I stopped in yesterday for an oil change on my 20 year old car. The service was quick and included an inspection, which my antique car passed with flying colors! The staff and owner are friendly and thorough. The waiting area is comfortable, has a T.V. streaming Netflix, plus snacks and coffee! Makes the time fly! Additionally, they support their community - I won a gift certificate and a benefit for local family. I will be returning for future maintenance.
