Great experience as always at Sports Basement, or as my kids call it: Dads Happy Place. We went to Sports Basement (SB) to pick up some snowboarding boots that Id purchased for my daughter, online. When I arrived the boots were quickly found and we were able to try them on in-store. It was a good thing too, because they were a tad too small. The store happened to have the next 1/2 size up in stock so the very helpful gentleman in the ski department brought them out and asked my daughter a few questions about the fit. With that info he brought out another pair of boots from a different manufacturer that he thought would work to address her concerns on fit. His suggestion was spot on and, after making a very easy return of the online purchase, were off with a new set of boots that fit her feet much better. The staff is VERY knowledgeable, SUPER friendly, and always go out of their way to make sure you make an informed purchasing decision (without being pushy at all); they make suggestions, you make decisions :-)

Wow - You get just want you requested along with exceptional friendly and knowledgeable staff. The interaction with the team both in person and over email was top-notch. Renting an Ibis Ripley for a day (pick up at 11 am drop off at 1 pm the following day) enabled me to get 2 longer rides in to fully evaluate the bike on various types of trails and conditions. I would recommend Sports Basement to anyone.

This is a great place. The crew is helpful and knowledgeable. We bought two bikes in the past couple of months, and the experience was super smooth. Even just walking in the store, browsing is real fun; they have so much cool stuff. Also, the sections are very clear and very well organized.

Mike in the Bikes department was an absolute awesome helper during our recent shopping experience. We were looking to test out a 20 bike for one of my children, and Mike helped us out so much! He went the extra mile for us to set up the brakes and the seat for our little one, then we got to test out the bike in the parking lot. He was a great helper and showed serious care and concern (and some good jokes) that showed his passion and love for biking and helping others with biking! Great work Mike! Well be back!

Joe in the snowboard department was awesome. Super knowledgeable and helped us find the right snowboard for my son who has a big foot and weighs 160 pounds. Then the guy at the register (should of gotten his name) was talking about the board with my son and asked him his weight and said that boards perfect and he is going to really like it. Great service from everyone who helped us. My son can’t wait to ride his new board!

Drove 3 hours to get a swimsuit with long sleeves for winter. Lucky they have lots of selection and it was on sale too.

Great place. Good selection. Sometimes limited on wide variety but that usually have at least one brand of most things. Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Their prices are a bit high on some items.

I love SB because they only carry quality equipment and the store is kept organized so that you can see what is there and buy what you want.Additionally the staff is happy, friendly and knowledgeable. There is just a good vibe to it you dont get in other stores.

Pretty good experiences here mostly with the bike department. Everyone is really helpful though. Customer service is pretty great. The pandemic has made it tough on everyone, so gotta understand that with any inconveniences.

Had exactly what I was looking for. Huge inventory of every sports item conceivable with an emphasis on high quality not cheap stuff you find online. Staff approached me to help as soon as I arrived and helped me bring the item to the register. Love the 10% members discount.

SB is the Trader Joe’s of sports stuff. Visiting SB is always the highlight of my day. I sometimes make up reasons to go there. The great people: check. The decor that looks like nobody planned it when in fact someone did: check. The very limited selection of just the basics that I need to keep my bike on the road: check. Love it.

I had a rear derailleur cable break during a ride in San Francisco. Brought the bike here, and they sorted it out well. Usually it will take some time to get used to the shifting again, because the trim will be different, but they did a great job getting everything dialed in properly. Went for a 31 mile / 2650’ ride today and it never missed a beat and I didn’t have to make any adjustments. Well done guys!

This Sports Basement store in Cambell has the most efficient and friendly staff Ive experienced, from the moment I step inside the front doors to the final purchase which they offer to carry out to my car. The 10% member discount is generous and kept me coming back. I highly recommend you check it out and see for yourself.

When my rear shifter cable broke, I brought it into this store for repair. The cable runs in the interior of the frame, so its difficult to replace. I expected to leave the bike there, but they were able to repair it in about 15 minutes while I waited. At the same time they straightened my derailleur hanger, which had made my shifting irregular. Great job, faster than I expected, for a fair price.

Great variety of merchandise for any sport you do. I thought I didnt need anything, but yet I found New Balance running shoes, a maroon (my favorite color) wicking shirt that was 75% off, cycling full gloves and a great pair of cycling shorts for my friend who is just starting out. I did save $$ as well with my basementeer discount and another 11% for signing up for the AIDS Life cycle 2022!! WOO HOO!!!

Joe in the bike department was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He also reviewed many of the bike accessories and car racks. Joe helped us select the right bike and accessories to fit our needs.

Our visit to sports basement in the prune yard was great the staff was helpful with information about shoes. We ended up picking up some cloudtec shoes for my wife and I which we love.

Sports basement doesnt seem to carry larger size shoes or boots for a Sasquatchs like myself. Very difficult to find size 13 and up. They top out at size 12 for snowboard boots.

The Campbell bike shop is great! Super helpful and no judgment when you have simple questions.

If you need to rent any ski, camping or outdoor equipment, this is easily the best place in the south bay to get it. I have rented from here, never had an issue and I always buy my running shoes as the options are better than your average sports store.

They didn’t have much employee on the sales floor to assist with sizing. However, once you’re able to find someone, they’re friendly and helpful.Besides the lack of floor staffs, they didn’t have inventory. Whatever you see on the sales floor, it’s all they have; or so I was told by the staff. Thankfully they do provide free shipping if you order in store.

The staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable. I always appreciate the assistance.

My husband and I are from the East coast and had never shopped at a Sports Basement previously. Upon entering the store, an employee at the entrance asked what we were shopping for. We informed her we were interested in purchasing wetsuits, and she said she would send a team member to assist us in that department immediately. Within 5 minutes of browsing through the wetsuits, Brian (Sports Basement Manager) came over and helped answer some questions we had regarding which type of wetsuit would be best for surfing. We started talking about surfing spots on the coast which led to Brian giving us travel tips on cool spots for hiking/camping/surfing etc. in the Bay Area. Honestly was hands down the best customer service I have ever experienced at a retail store. 100% recommend shopping here for all your outdoor equipment needs. We will definitely be back!!!

I wish Id found the Sports Basement earlier. The last couple months Ive been shopping for Arcteryx jackets. I went to REI, to the Arcteryx-branded store at Stanford Mall, plus to their Livermore outlet mall. The selection was always pretty limited. Today at SB it was like hitting the mother lode. I tried on jackets Id only read about online.

Ordered 2 bike tires online, and they were ready for pickup w/in an hour. Went there and decided to buy 2 additional tires since my kids bike needed tires too. The staff there is always super friendly and helpful.

I needed to buy some new athletic shoes - and I was interested in the Hoka brand. Keith did a great job of explaining to me the features of this shoe and then brought me a pair of these shoes that would be right for my feet based on what I told him I needed. When the Womens wide was not wide enough for my foot, he brought me a pair of Mens 2E which felt me very well. I wanted to try on another wide shoe to get a comparison - and he brought me a pair of New Balance shoes in 3E. After walking around for quite a bit, I decided to buy the Hoka brand shoes and I am very happy with my purchase. Keith was very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. He allowed each customer the time they needed to walk around in the shoes - and he was able to assist multiple customers at once. I felt that Keith valued me as a customer and that was very important to me. This is one of the main reasons that I came to Sports Basement to buy new shoes.

Sports B is the best. Over the years have gotten a Roka Maverick X Swimsuit, theragun Prime, Garmin edge 820, multiple bike tuneups, and countless smaller items here. Always have great service and great experience.

Pretty much everything for every sport, in a large airy warehouse style store. The selection is diverse enough to provide many price points. We rent skiing equipment for the season, the great staff helps ensure everything is perfect. If you go frequently, being a member of their reward program is worth it.

Pleased with my experience, as usual here, but you really need to resume your full schedule and stay open until 9pm. I spent 90 minutes over two days selecting new hiking boots. Your great selection meant I found exactly what I needed. But I had to return the next day when I wasnt done by 7pm the first day. I bought the boots at 7pm the next day, but then had to leave and go to REI (blech; HIGH prices!) to purchase hiking pants. I want to give Sports Basement my business, so PLEASE, stay open later!

I normally would go 5 stars, but on my last visit to the Campbell store they forgot to remove the security device from the sleeping bag I purchased. I dont live near the store and had to drive all the way back the next day to have them remove (didnt want to do it myself and risk damaging the zipper or have the device spray ink all over the place...)

Great service with knowledgeable professionals at a great price. Gatorskins are just terrible to get on and off the wheel but Joe did it in just a couple of minutes while explaining his technique and sharing his knowledge with me while watching the process.

Had to do a return the other day at Campbell store. Staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my credit card that I had used to purchased the shoes. I was given a store credit, which I was able to use during my visit. I ended up getting a new pair of running shoes. The shoe staff Keith, I believe that was his name, was knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to find a shoe in my size with a wide toe box.

When a gear broke on one of my bikes, and a tube collapsed on another, a friend recommended Sports Basement in Campbell. I only moved to the US 3 years ago and had never heard of the store, and as I’m no fan of large sports stores, nearly drove away when I saw how big this place is! But as I didn’t have time to go elsewhere, I decided to take the plunge – and am I glad I did! I was met by Avery at the entrance, who’s huge smile was visible despite his COVID mask. Avery sweetly got someone to help me walk the bikes to the back. Mike in the repair shop said he needed to keep the bike with the broken gear, but offered to repair the tyre from the other bike, right there and then. Josef who worked on the tyre, took time to explain why the valve had ripped and proposed good options to the tube I had before. The entire team was friendly, professional and incredibly pleasant. The next day Jimmy called to let me know my gear was fixed. Turns out he had also cleaned my disc brakes (at no extra charge) because they were rubbing and a mess. How cool is that! Great store, great team and great employees – I’m now a loyal Sports Basement customer! :)

I showed up early at opening on Black Friday and the fitter was able to get me in as a walk in since I was early. He gave me 30 minutes of his time fitting me into the exact boots that fit my riding style /preference. Super friendly and professional fitting experience that was done in a safe social distance manner! Loving my new boots, perfect fit, thanks to you guys.

I love this store, especially the guys in the bike department. Always friendly and professional, but most of all very helpful. I rode to Pruneyard yesterday and had a problem with one of my pedals on the way there. I walked in to the bike shop and walked out 15 mins later with a working pedal. They knew exactly how to fix the issue and got it done so i could get back on the road.thanks guys!

I prefer this Sports Basement to other outdoor stores in the area. The customer service is fantastic and the deals are great. They also have a very large selection of gear, especially ski/snowboarding gear and running shoes. Their backpacking/camping section is smaller than I would like, but still has a lot packed into it. They also have a lot of womens clothing options (although I had a hard time finding womens ski pants that worked for me due to their small selection).

Normally love sports basement...Made a special trip to go get some sports legs supplements and you were out....evidently it’s “super popular” which begs the question, why don’t you order more. Asked when you would be getting more and the answer was “no idea”. Super frustrating.

Bought a $600.00 bike trailer for my kids and opened the box— it’s missing the front attachment so I can hook it onto my bike and safety flag. I have 2 toddlers and it’s difficult to get to the store. It’s very inconvenient that the box they sold me was pre-opened and no one checked it for completeness when it was transferred from another store. Now I need to drive to the Sunnyvale location for an exchange... hopefully my daughter will sleep so I can get up there.

Great quality items. Found my favorite Teva sandals. But! They dont allow customers to use the restroom. This is a big store with lots to see! I had to go outside and walk the equivalent of 3 blocks to find a bathroom. (Which is past the theater.) Just keep that in mind.....

Great experience with the bike shop, where my flat tire was fixed (inner tube) quickly and carefully, he noticed the rear brake was not working quite right and asked for a few minutes to check it, and made a few adjustments at no extra charge. ‘Would not feel right if you left with it like that.’ Wow, real expertise and service!!! Did not catch the name, but it was Monday night 7/6/2020 before closing Thanks!!!

I bought a bike from SB online during SIP with their 20% Gear Up sale. The experience was great. They sent an email a few minutes after purchasing about what the steps would be as far as the bike being built and arranging pick up. About a week later Scott, the bike mechanic, contacted me via email to set up an appointment for pick up, I ended up picking it up that same day. He made it super easy, showed me how to take the front and back tires off and how to put them back on so it fit easily into my car and suggested a few bike shops in my area, about an hour and a half away from SB, that I could take the bike to if I couldn’t make it back to Campbell. Thanks SB Campbell 👌🏻

Like selection at this store. Rating low because of poor customer service. As my husband and I entered the store the staff just stuck their thermometer in our faces almost without warning, which startled me. It looks like a mini gun. I could not calm down for awhile. I find this policy quite threatening to some ppl and also it does nor protect people against COVID19. Elevated temp is not just the sign for this particular problem. Besides, who in their right mind would be shopping with high fever.? This is an invasion of privacy.
