I was recommended to come here from a nearby lumber company because I needed a few pieces of teak wood to repair and replace pieces of teak on my patio lounge chairs. These people have a HUGE selection of hard wood products. I found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable about their products and very helpful in finding exactly what I needed to repair my patio chairs. Would highly recommend them! I also purchased this unique and cute wood vase.

Im a relatively novice woodworker and came here to expand my horizons outside of the normal selection found at lumber stores. The amount of exotic, unusual, and gorgeous wood available was stunning. Eric (Erik?) gave me an absolutely incredible customer service experience, taking the time to understand my projects, skill level, and guiding me to the right choices, all the while educating me on the kinds of woods and why or why not they would be used for my project. I bought a small volume of wood (beginner skills = lots of mistakes, gotta keep costs down) but the wood that I got was a great price. I left the store smarter, with more wood than I expected at a cost I was more than thrilled with. Cant wait to go back, 10/10.

This place is made for contractors that need large slabs. You walk in and it feels/looks like a warehouse. Because of this, the staff is helpful if you need something but they are constantly working and leave smaller customers to look around. The prices are great for hardwood lumber and redwood blocks. I need a supplier for my projects and they treat me with the same respect as a large contractor.I like the Saturday hours, the warehouse is laid out very logical, and they are very helpful if you need something.Really a gem to find supplies since Southern Lumber closed their doors.

Willing to deal with rough cut lumber? This is the place to find those special slabs.They can even surface plane for a cost.I love to check out their selections of hard woods. You are never sure what they might have. The only danger for me is bringing my wife who is also a wood worker. Large hunks of exotic woods can get expensive. As in more that $2,000 for some of the largest slices.Youll even find some locally harvest trees sliced up.Have a large log you cannot cut. GWS has a mill out back to slice through those large tree sections. (Of course they charge but its reasonable pricing)

This place is amazing! So many selections. The staff is awesome and he gave me a piece of quilted maple for $10 for my first tele neck build.Update:Went to this place again after a year. Picked some Koa and Ziricote sets. Super friendly owner and great selections!Will definitely come back again!

Great store and great staff. I come here fairly often to pick up wood for turning and they really have a great selection of shapes, sizes, and wood types. The staff are always very polite, friendly and knowledgeable.

Such a great place. The lady helped me pick out the perfect wood for my fiancées birthday present project and then gave it to me for free because when I first arrived the doors had been closed. She reopened, found me a beautiful slab and insisted I have it for free. A+++++

Stunning wood selection. Good prices as far as I can tell for some random sizes / small planks. Got 4 beautiful pieces of cocobolo for about $25.

I usually come here for specialty wood (figured, live edge etc). Prices are decent, but volume isnt as high as other lumberyards.

I am a wood turner and have been buying exotics from Global for the last 10 year. I have purchased amboyna to ziricote and many in between, cocobolo, cheesewood, pheasant wood, and buckeye burl. Its always a pleasure seeing the many woods, if you dont see what you want, ask and they can probably get it for you. I enjoy doing business with staff. Thank you for being close and available.
