Rasputin’s always has a great selection. However it’s annoying that they police incessantly about a mask down for a couple seconds but they couldn’t spend the last year and a half wiping down the filthy used CDs. This goes for all locations.

Man I used to love this place and would frequently visit, but their service is absolutely terrible now. Ive had like 5 bad experiences, and none of them seemed to matter to the staff. I called to see if they had received a new release and employee made it seem like it was a huge inconvenience for him, complaining throughout the whole conversation. When I asked to speak to another employee he refused. I asked for a manager, and he passed me along to him saying, theres a customer who cant accept what Im telling him, I already told him youd say the same thing. Indeed I was told I would have to drive over there and check myself. Another time an employee MARKED UP the price of a CD that rang up on sale, just because the sticker had it $2 more. And there have been several times in the last year where I was sold unplayable CDs or the wrong CD that did not match the packaging. For these incidents they only gave me store credits, not a refund. Im tired of it all and will be taking my business to Streetlight... Theyre actually really nice there. Really disappointed with how bad it is here now, even the employees look like they hate it here.

I went in to sell ten pairs of pants, all in very good condition, and they only gave me $10. I asked what the criteria was for the clothing they purchase, my pants met all of them, and they told me they gave me extra for a pair of yellow corduroy Banana Republic pants, which they only gave me $1 for. They say they give you top dollar but they don’t. All of the items in the store are very nice, but for pants like they bought from me for $0.20-$1, they change you $12-$15+ for. Overall, the staff is friendly, and the merchandise is in good condition, but don’t waste your time trying to sell clothing there.

Fun place to shop for vinyl. Quite a large collection but the good deals are hard to find... literally. They have a 50c a record stash stacked in boxes below the main racks. They are not ordered in any way as far as I could see so its pretty much get down and dig to find the nuggets.

I went in to sell my Elvis collection of albums (in beautiful condition), but apparently theyre not in huge demand😲 LOL I mean... WHO DOESNT LOVE ELVIS?!The offer to buy them didnt put padding to my pockets, but a sigh of relief (I really didnt want to sell them anyways).Even though I didnt make any money and Elvis ended up coming back home with me, the guy was gracious enough to take a huge back breaking box of records off my hands that were my grandparents (thats been under foot for ever/ major pain) and is donating them to those who might enjoy them.LOL 😆 LAWRENCE WELK and his orchestra RULED (when it came to the bubbles:)

Prepare to spend a lot of hours browsing the collection and still have lot to cover.I picked up some used Blu rays and the prices started from $3.95. Sections are marked by genres and then alphabetically so it’s easy to search if you have a movie in mind.DVD prices started from $1.95 but I did.l not check them out much.There were a lot of tv show box sets and a vast selection of older movies, foreign films and Criterion collections as well.Was incredibly lucky to pick up movies I wanted to watch that originally came with digital code to find that the codes were still in the box and they redeemed successfully, so double yay!I would definitely return. Friendly staff.Note: With a free membership, you can get bonuses, like buy 5 Blu Ray movies worth $3.95 or more and get $5 immediate discount. Also note, Not all movies are cheap. Some of the newer movies are priced on par with brand new prices.Recommended the staff to add the list of movies on the website so it’s easy to hold them for pick up or something but it would be a huge undertaking considering the number of movies they have.The store is in business for around 25 years and it’s easy to see why.The store also sells books and t shirts but I didn’t find time to browse so can’t say much about that.

I went to Rasputin Music with an idea in my head, taking pictures there. The whole team was amazing, they were so candid, allow me and the model to take very good pictures in there. Place is huge and also has this little vinil music and books store inside, let me tell you, is really beautiful and well organized, like travel in time.

I am so glad they are still open. Such a huge selection of used DVDs, CDs, etc. Lots of great box sets too. All in great condition and well priced.

The manager (who I didn’t know was the manager) was very condescending and acted annoyed when I asked him about where to find something. The fact that he’s the manager (which I didn’t find out until after) is kinda shocking, not gunna lie. I am the total opposite of a Karen (I work with the public so I know what it’s like to deal with unruly people) but when someone treats you so disrespectfully despite you being polite, that just doesn’t sit right with me. The worker in front/ in charge of letting people into the shop was super friendly and nice so shout out to him!! He was very apologetic and felt bad that I had such a poor experience. I spoke with the manager and he apologized for the way he acted, which I appreciate. However, I likely won’t be going back.

Good prices on cds and a really big selection

The selection for records is hands down the best in town. They are on point when it comes to enforcing social distancing during this Rona-epidemic. Unfortunately you have a 50% chance of still running across the old school snobby “too cool for school” vibe. I asked where the records were, I got a silent finger pointed to a wall full of signs. I said “There’s a lot of signs here man, not sure where you are pointing to.” Dude said, “The biggest sign there is..” Eventually I walked that direction and found their record room. However, if you are willing to just take that as par for the course when it comes to indie stores, you will find bargains beyond belief.This is not to say the service is all bad because there were many other employees that were willing to help without the “You should know this already” vibe. I guess some people emulate “High Fidelity” movie, and others don’t.I digress.. I would like to see more T-shirts with modern bands for the kids these days to buy. Even though I love their selection personally, I am 45.. I would love to see their eyes glow looking at a 21 pilots tee or whatever the hell those kids like. Overall, fantastic selection. All of my records played great. Just BE CAREFUL.... it’s easy to spend your whole paycheck here.

I bought 15 dollars worth of movies but when I came back to return a few of them I somehow got 3 dollars back.Ill admit they do have an impressive collection but only buy something here that you want to keep forever because if they scam customers by giving a 1/3 of their money back as far as returns go, youre better off buying movies online.

Good to see someone still selling physical copies of music. I genuinely enjoy searching through all the CDs in the Hip Hop/R&B section. They have the CDs (new and used) in the same isle here too. That saves a ton of time. I have been coming to Rasputin Music for many years now. I dont come as often since my family grew but this was one of my favorite pastimes; smoke one and then go inside and be nostalgic. If I wanted a certain album they always kept a full stock of current releases. If I was searching for OOP copies I had pretty good success rate with them as well. Very pleased with this store.

Great place to find older music and video. Can take a while to find what youre looking for, so patience is a virtue. Plan to spend some time. You really never know what you are going to find that you like, even if you did not know you wanted prior to walking in.

Great prices on movies, tv series, video games, CDs, vinyls, band shirt and Blu Rays. There is 90% you will find what you are looking for in these stores. You can also sell your old VHS collection. The negatives about this particular store is that it smells odd. Other than that I will be coming back.

I came for the vinyl and there isnt much to choose from. Even though it says to be a music store, it is mostly DVDs and VHS.

I don’t really buy blu ray discs or dvds or cds that much anymore because there is Netflix and stuff like that to watch movies but when there is something that I wanna purchase in a disc copy they always have it and nice and respectful people there.

After covid the price of used cds spiked about 50%. Although its a good selection, I never want to pay 13 bucks for a used Drake CD.

Great finds, good deals, and friendly service, but unfortunately you have to spend ALL of your credit once there when you traded your DVDs, CDs, Blu-rays, and video games for credit.

My go-to record store. Unbeatable variety and vast collection on almost every artist. Could use a bit more of variety for band shirts but, it is what it is. The posters are nice and with variety. Their movie collection is also fantastic. Their vinyl section makes me wish I had a vinyl player. Register service could be better, but all of the above more than compensate.

I love this store sorry to see the one in Newark mall dissapear. They are a dying breed of used music and video store. Looking for a DVD, CD they got it sometimes you have to look deep but thats why I go and when youre done they give e credit for selling back to them. If you remember old record stores I think you will find Rasputin rite up your alley

This place is awesome. Cds, vynils, dvds, books, t-shirta, collectibles...they got anything you might be looking for. I found so many cool movie classics and top cds. One could spends days here browsing for rareties and always find something cool. I bought an original Roxettes first album and a Bruce Sprinsteen DVD Show. Crew here is kind and helpful and prices are fair. If you are a music, movie fan or book worm you cant miss a visit to Rasputin.

They take the anti-covid measures very seriously, and take your temperature, use hand sanitizer, and require a mask, upon entry. I brought in some CDs to sell the store as used, and they took several of them. The store is very large, with a large selection.
