Took all my Culinary knives from German steel to multiple Hard Damascus steel kitchen knives . And even a rare meat gleaver badly beat up chipped blade and edging. The handel is engraved with Dang Jia Ren. And the blade almost a complete mirror finish with a engraved language Im not too familiar with if anybody can translate by the way would be a plus Five 🌟 stars on the total word and work these guys did on all my knives.

Been my regular hardware shop for 2 years now. And while they havent always had everything I need, they certainly come close. But what makes this place stand out is the people. Great people with smiles, humor, and a genuine honesty is the standard here. The little extra attention that after a while makes a person feel like part of their family. Parts and pieces are comparable in price to others, but their is no price you can put on old fashioned hospitality. I shop their because I want to, not because I have to. 👍😀 Bonus: they honor veterans with a 10 percent discount.

We have sent our blades to Family Hardware 3 times now and we are always very happy with the results. The blades come back better than when they were new, and seem to stay sharp longer. I just send in a stack of blades, and dont always inspect them beforehand. If there are a couple of teeth missing, they just replace them, but last time I sent in a really dead blade and they kindly marked all the missing teeth and sent it back without sharpening it, or charging me for the shipping. Even if I could find a local sharpener, Im pretty sure Id still send our blades to Florida, because the shipping is cheap(free, isnt it?), and they always do an amazing, professional job .Give them a try and you wont regret it.

This family owned store gave me outstanding service! I needed a part for my master bath toilet. I could not find it anywhere local but I found it here. I ordered it on a Tuesday and I thought it would be at least 7 to 10 business days before I would get it. But low and behold it came in the mail on Thursday! I was shocked! My toilet is now fixed and I just ordered the same part again to have on hand should I need it down the road in another bathroom. Ordered some mower blades online. I got exactly what I ordered in 3 business days after I placed my order and that was the free shipping. Price was reasonable especially given they were literally the only store I could find online that had the greenwise mower blade I was looking for in stock. On a side note it sucks to have a proprietary mower blade especially when the parent company doesnt have any in stock or have any idea if they ever will get more in the future.

Today ends my relationship with Family Hardware. Im a firm believer in supporting local businesses, and and drive right past Home Depot to get to family Hardware. When I first came to the Cape 2 years ago I discovered family Hardware and the fact that I was going to need insulated drinkware down here in Florida. Family Hardware has a full selection of yeti coolers and drinkware, and a yeti ice machine that is free to use for yeti customers. I checked with the staff to find out if buying drinkware qualified me to get free ice… I was assured it did. On several different occasions. So for two years I have been making my hardware purchases there and buying all sorts of yeti tumblers and cruisers and food containers. I have been bringing visiting friends and relatives to the store so they could purchase yeti drinkware. And all along Ive been stopping in a couple times a month to get ice for my cooler on the way to the beach or the pool or a cookout.Today I stopped in to get ice for this weekends cookout in my cooler (not a yeti, but that ground had already been covered). I am approached by the owner, Jeremy, whom I have not met before – and he asked if I am a yeti customer at the store. I describe my purchase history and the explanation I have been given of the ice machine deal. I am now in politely uninvited to use the ice machine from this point forward. Wouldve been a good thing to know before I loyally came only to family Hardware and paid full price for all my items (ace Hardware down the street regularly has them on sale).I am a full-time local resident, and I will now find another local business to support, one who knows how to honor a deal and keep their word.

Very nice personal service

You can imagine my trepidation sending.my Freud blades through the mail from Minnesota to a company in Florida I knew nothing about. I did call to check on their Freud certification. The final results could not have been better. Turn around time was just a few days, the blades were super sharp with all the subtle angles on the expensive Fusion blades, all the tips were rubber coated and cleaned to a t. To top it all off with five blades, shipping was free both directions. Family Hardware is my sharpener from now on.Karle Erickson

Extremely helpful place everyone is so knowledge puts big box stores to shame

This is an old fashioned hardware store where the employees and owner know their inventory and walk you to it. It is similar but better than the Ace Hardware franchises which are very good also. No they dont have the square footage, corporate mind set or miles of aisles of products. They do carry most any type of the actual definition of hardware and more, things difficult to find in a big box store as it may be not geared for new construction only. Go there first and if they have what you are looking for, put your money directly back into the community.

I was a bit reserved to send my blades from Louisiana to south Florida, but after using family hardware I`ll be using them again, service was fast & very personal, blade cut good as new. Couldn`t find anyone local to sharpen blades so I would just bye a new one costly . You can trust Family hardware to do a great job.

I asked at my hardware store do you sharpensaw blades and they just laughed and said Nobody does thatanymore you just have to buy a new blade.Ouch I thought at 80 or 100 dollars for a new blade thatdidnt make sense. So I looked online and foundFamiy Hardware. I was a bit nervous about sendingout three of my blades - but the Family Hardward websitewas straight forward and shipping via UPS was easy withthe pre-printed shipping label. So I packed up my blades anddropped them off at the UPS store. That was easy - I paid by credit card,the cost per blade is very reasonable as was the shipping.One week later my sharpened blades were delivered - nice and sharpwith a protective coating on them for shipping. I am very satisfiedwith Family Hardware, glad I took a chance on them - I recommendthem to anyone serious about the quality of their woodworking.

I was having a hard time cutting some hard maple with my Freud glueline blade. Id cleaned it and it felt sharp to me... after checking the freud side and several forums I found Family Hardware. After several e-mail questions they send me a prepaid shipping label that would cover unto 5 blades. This is the first time I have sent blades out to be resharpened, in the past I simply buy a new blade. I was kept informed of the progress at every step of the process. in less than 2 weeks my blades were returned. the teeth coated in a protective gel One of the blades was not repaired as they were too many teeth that would have needed to be reground. It was good to know that Family Hardware would not have simply re-ground the blade, but indicated that this blade was not economical to repair. I will definitely use Family Hardware again! I highly recommend them for your saw sharpening needs.

Horrible service. Stay away. UPC was wrong, no bag, long wait in line and overall rude and dismissive staff. Instead of helping me and my daughter, the cashier stopped in the middle of my transaction to answer some guys question about a fishing license who had just walked in. Nothing FAMILY about Family Hardware at all. I make six figures a year but apparently they dont need my money, so Ill be spending it at ACE up the street instead.
