Plenty of places to sit inside and out, and easy parking behind the place at the train station. Quickly becoming my favorite local coffee shop!

Huge selection of drinks and food, there is always something new and so many varieties of each thing. The owner is there almost every day to my knowledge, so friendly and treats every customer like a friend. The staff is also lovely, great customer service and always willing to strike up a conversation. Its also the perfect environment to read a book or get some work done. Do yourself a favor and go there

Very cute coffee shop. Very friendly staff. A large selection of food and pastries. The iced coffee and cow milk lattes were delicious. Don’t order an alternative milk latte hot however. I know alternative milks are harder to work with when steaming but I make and buy them often with oat milk (way too often ) and don’t have any trouble. A purchased latte is a treat and when I pay for the alternative milk on top of the latte price I’m looking forward to that creamy velvet first drink. This was not that. So iced coffee or drip coffee if I return.

Great location right downtown Carlsbad with indoor outdoor seating. Coffee is fine, pastry selection was nonexistent but maybe I just caught them at a bad time.

Great coffee! Great atmosphere! Its nice and open so that you get a good breeze. My only complaint is that the WiFi is a bit slow. But that is minor. Awesome place!

This is a hidden gem! Excellent service, the menu has a good variety of food and drinks. We ordered a bagel with cream cheese, hot cocoa with whipped cream, latte with cinnamon roll, a sugar donut (so fluffy on the inside) and a ginger-honey-lemon hot tea (HIGHLY recommend the tea!)

Had acia bowls that were delicious and coffee was very good. Oh also had a delicious cranberry muffin and banana bread that we shared, very yummy!

Fantastic local café, great coffee and cute place to hang out. Gets busy quickly and sometimes service can take longer and be a little disorganized, so take a deep breath do some people watching or read a book and let life wash over you.

The coffee is great and the employees are friendly but they let people come in and hang out without masks on, despite the posted mask policy. Seems like a simple rule to enforce to protect the safety of all your customers.Edit: it was around 3:00 this afternoon and there were two people without masks. I dont want to get your staff in trouble-- they probably didnt want to risk having someone make a scene. But the people were in there for around 10 minutes with no masks.

Coffee orders were swapped on the label and I ended up drinking some of my husbands regular milk latte. It tasted too good to be true (being dairy free is a bummer) so I tasted his, which was my coconut milk latte.Being in the food industry they should know to be careful with dairy vs non-dairy as people have allergies.The barista was apologetic, re-made my drink. Though, the damage was done and I should have been offered a refund. Now I’m back at the hotel, day ruined, dealing with the reaction.2 starts because my husband liked both lattes.

Really nice staff. Super clean. Food is surprisingly great (especially for a coffee shop)! We have ordered the quiche, the bagel, & the croissant. All were yum😊Relaxed atmosphere/chill vibe. Would definitely recommend. 👍🏼

Truely a great, locally owned gathering spot. Baristas soo plrasant, service oriented...easily sub. items for my Lox Bagel. Coffee ethically sourced. I have spoken easily with owner on my visits from out of town..I live 80 mi. away. He is proud of his trained staff and us regulars.

Baba is a great local coffee hub! I love that the offer other local company eats like donuts from V.G.’s or cookies from The Cravory. I like to order from the specials board, totally different choices than your chain coffee shop! Try this place!

This place has nice ambiance. It has several garage - type doors open, which allows you to enjoy the breeze while inside. The pie and coffee are good.

This place is excellent! A little off of the main street, but totally worth the extra block of walking to find this gem. Everything on their menu is carefully chosen from local suppliers, so by coming in here you are truly getting the best of the best in the area. The staff is friendly and willing to make recommendations and personalize things because it’s all fresh! Definitely check these guys out! They are killing it!

We just moved to the area and I have already been to Baba 3 times. The avocado toast is the best I’ve ever had. I also love the pumpkin oat milk coffee. I could eat here everyday!

I ordered an ICED french vanilla swirl latte. is this ICED? no. was it good and worth it? yes because my mood wasn’t ruined at 4 pm today. but i DID want an iced drink since it was actually pretty warm in Carlsbad today. other than that, the store from my view looks pretty new and the workers barely knew what they were doing but it does look professional and around 10-15 people were sitting and chillin and relaxing yanno like ur usual cafe. but i would just pay better attention to the customers’ orders and beware of what the drinks on the menu are. anyways, thank you for the HOT drink it’s good, but i ordered an ICED drink for the last time now. bye and thank u.

The coffee was good, and the service was good. The scenery was not so good. Will definitely go back when I want a good cup of java.

Stoked to find this little oasis of peace and warmth on a rainy January afternoon in Southern California.Stopped in on a friends recommendation for coffee, and was pleasantly surprised that they had a generous food menu in addition to the chalkboard items listed behind the board.The Turkey Bake sandwich hit the spot if you like those classic mustard and sauerkraut deli-style flavors.The latte was smooth and strong, just the right balance.Lots of seating arrangements, from counter style, to group tables, to quiet smaller tables for getting work done.Great food and drink, great ambiance, and great service...what more do you want?

The place is cute and clean and the staff is super friendly. Unfortunately I wish the prices of drinks were posted on the menu, or that the drinks were sightly less expensive. Full disclosure I paid $9 for a dirty chai and it was by no means bad, it was just a bit pricier than I was expecting.

The decor is super nice, very hip and modern. The wifi leaves a lot to be desired. They use a trial system, which stops working after an hour and can be finicky to use. The food and pastries are fantastic, but I think the coffee is only ok. They serve a roast from Pannikin Coffee on a La Marzoco machine. The roast is a reasonable quality, but they over-steamed the milk on my latte even with such a nice machine.Theres a ton of potential for improvement just in getting better wifi and refining their coffees milk quality.

Its become my go to coffee shop. They have great coffee and teas and pastries. Their obligatory avocado toast is also worth it. Stop going to starbucks because this is basically the same price and way more flavorful.

This is a must stop location if you like quality coffee and natural tasty goods. I had a delicious steamed egg & cream cheese open sandwich. Simple, but amazing! Service was fast and friendly, and they easily made recommendations. I could easily study/get some work done here or meet with some friends. I will be coming here each time Im in town!

This is a nice coffeeshop. The name is creative and I really like the name of my drip with an espresso shot called the Hammerhead. It was good but could have been stronger and at $5.50 expensive.Seating is decent but the place is small. Theres some nice outdoor seating. Barista Alec did a good job.Recommended.Note: There are no prices on the board menu and paper menu. Strange and inconvenient.

I’m here almost every single day. Baba Coffee is a fantastic coffee spot run by some incredible people.The coffee is great (and very consistent)and the decor is modern, upbeat, and comfortable. It’d all be nothing without the customer-focused staff, though.You won’t find a better coffee shop in Carlsbad or Oceanside!

Stumbled upon this place by accident, and Im so glad! The Hammerhead ( a red-eye with 2 shots) was bold and smooth!! The wifes green tea latte without coconut milk was wonderful. They even had donuts!!

NOT OUR SCENE ! My wife and I rode our eBikes from Solana Beach to Carlsbad and back on Sunday....30 miles. We are always looking for somewhere new to grab coffees and something decent to eat. I had a look in here...very dark inside with a few people playing on their iPads and laptops. No food on the menu that would satisfy us for lunch so we gave this place a miss.

I’ve gone to Baba’s a handful times to enjoy some quiet time by myself, met with a few clients for our non-profit & sunny afternoon with my husband and dog with the outdoor patio. It’s a cozy coffee shop with a fantastic selection of local goodies and I love their selection of coffee/tea, especially including milk substitute options🙌🏼. I’ve had good customer service, patient and friendly when taking my order. I definitely recommend Baba’s on state and will be going back.

Very clean and healthy menu. The coffee was superb delicious. I would recommend this place over any coffee shop I been to in Oceanside and Carlsbad. If you get the avocado toast get salmon along with it.

Ordered a salted caramel latte and it was sickeningly salty. They were nice and replaced it with regular caramel latte. It was an average coffee drink. Probably wont return. Nice building and location though. Made for a fun outing. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

I love finding a coffee place that can make decent tea drinks, too! I had a custom barely sweetened chai latte and it was delicious! Very pleasant staff.

Lovely experience. Cappuccino perfectly executed, nice vibes inside the coffee shop and the owner was very kind to offer a very tasty shortbread. I have to come again to test their other coffee drinks.

My favorite local business. You meet the owners on the regular and theyre amazing. Their avocado toast and hammer head are my go-to breakfast.

The coffee just keeps getting more and more expensive. I ordered two chai lattes with oat milk and I paid 16 bucks, I was charged a dollar for the oat milk per drink, which I understand but the barista forgot to make them with oat milk. The staff is often unprofessional or I feel as if they don’t want to be working. The only upside is the location of the shop and it is quite cute.

Average coffee shop using Monin syrups. I might be a little more spoiled by the other coffee shops nearby that have a little more knowledge and passion about their coffee, using quality, locally-sourced ingredients. I havent tried any of their food. They do have a nice atmosphere.

Awesome shop. As a lover of good (not just hot) coffee and espresso its an easy fav. Add fresh crossaints, VGS donuts, avocado toast, and a great happy hour to the mix and you have the mixings for a new watering hole. The staff is kick ass too...def recommend to any and all!
