I don’t often write negative reviews, especially now when so many businesses are struggling with staffing. Plus this location has hired a lot of new staff recently, so I gave it some time before writing this review.I come here everyday, sometimes twice! I just cannot deal with the service anymore, and I’m going to have to find a new spot. My drink ticket was lost, then I got placed behind all the other beverages on the bar, and no apology for the wait. This morning my drink was placed 4-5 drinks after people who were in like behind me and ordered after me.The coffee is always fine, but you can be waiting her for 20-30 minutes for one beverage even on a slow day. The food has always been awesome, but it’s not worth the frustration.

Excellent coffee (hot or cold), but don’t sleep on the food. The breakfast sandwich is very good. I’d recommend getting it on the croissant and adding bacon and avocado. Pairs well with an iced “Sandpiper.”Friendly staff, great indoor and outdoor atmosphere. Great table spaces if you need to fire off a few emails.

Best staff! They take their coffee seriously so if you’re in a rush order ahead and be kind! Due to the pandemic everywhere is short staffed and businesses are having a very tough time hiring in every industry.Food is great. I love the breakfast burrito with avocado salsa.Maggie & Kelsey are superstars. But so is everyone else. Thank you for keeping me going everyday!

I just want to say, their coffee is amazing. What’s even more amazing is Maggie the Assistant Manager. Not only did she create a killer flat white (both her skills and the coffee made it great), but she was truly helpful assisting me with my selection of the beans for home brewing that potentially would suit my preferences (I haven’t tried them yet but will post an update when I do). She has excellent customer service skills, an amazing personality and is a true asset to the business. She has an attitude you don’t see much today (it’s kinda like a unicorn). Don’t ever let her go because my experience with her is what will bring me back. Thanks Maggie!

People are passive aggressive if you like that when people put you down while you order. Food isnt that great just go to sprouts and get the same items. Coffee favor is good I can give them that. However the inaccurate wait times, the passive aggressive attitude, is not worth the money.I dont just spend 20 dollars like majority of their customers. Its usually 60-100 each time we visit. Yes party of 4 and or 5. Wait times they will tell you 12-15 in reality is 30 to an hour wait. This will be my last time I will come here.

Ordering online is easy. My chai was ready when I arrived. It wasnt obvious where to pick it up, but a staff member directed me. Im picky about my chai lattes and this one was too mild for me. Ive had other drinks there which have been delicious. I was just underwhelmed with this particular recipe. The atmosphere is nice. There was a large party of young people at the tables outside. Nobody was wearing masks save one person waiting for their drink.

I came here in hopes of getting some great tasting coffee since Starbucks coffee always tastes very burnt to me. First time here and I will not be coming back. I am not sure if this was a one time fluke, but I ordered their espresso shot (3 shots) and the espresso was extremely sour tasting and also tasted like it was old as if it was sitting out for a few hours. Did not taste fresh at all. Sad to say this tasted worse than Starbucks espressos. It was a waste of $7.

Good coffee, takes a while, but definitely quality. It is a bit frustrating that they never put pricing on their beans and then the associates have to look up pricing. Have definitely been told the wrong pricing before and spent $30+ dollars on a bag & got home before I noticed...

The coffee itself was good, but the patio needs some sprucing up. The cushions were filthy and the tables needed some cleaning on a not so busy Tuesday morning. Weekends, expect to wait over 1/2 hour to get your beverage.

Coffee was just so so. Very milk-like and just lukewarm. No rich aromatic flavor. Ordered a breakfast burrito which was a sliver of a fried potato and scrambled eggs with bits of bacon. The rest of the burrito was the folded dry flour tortilla...very disappointing to say the least. At least the service had the typical your lucky I got out of bed this morning to serve you attitude.

Never been to Bird Rock before but this new place in Bressi has some pretty tasty coffee. Saturday morning was a bit crowded and loud unfortunately, and the service was slow. Hopefully its not always like this. I do wish the menu had some more vegan options as well. With local distributors like Hazel & Jade showing up in many coffee locations lately, it seems like a missed opportunity not to include those options.Update: second visit had less people, still a long wait. The avocado toast is nice, coffee is great!

I think I have found the perfect latte. No joke everyone, I am a SNOB when it comes to my lattes and birdrock has NAILED IT!!! We will start with how it looks! The latte is filled right to the top, the foam does nt have any bubbles in it, and the latte art is delightful! I didnt add any sugar, but it had just the right balance of sweet from the milk to the rich espresso. The barista told me their coffee is all very humanly and conciensiously sourced which I like to hear, I bought a bag of their coffee to take home. I cant wait to try it!

FINALLY an awesome and artisanal espresso. This is what I’ve missed most in corona times. So excited to finally drink a great latte

One of my favorite San Diego roasters. There’s something special about their espresso and cold brew that truly get me LIT, for lack of a better word! The space is awesome and so So Cal! The vibe is inviting and features a nice circle patio with comfortable seating. The coffee is some of the best and strongest you’ll probably ever try and every person I bring here leaves satisfied. Come try one of San Diego’s finest before taking on a rich city!

Love Birdrock coffee, love the food, love the people! But, unfortunately this is the slowest coffee shop in SD. I’m not requesting Starbucks fast, I’m talking local roasting coffee shops and cafes. Multiple times I’ve been in there and the employees are moving at pre-bird rock coffee slowness. Speed it up one notch... happy to change my review if I see improvement.

Always a great cup of coffee and some top notch food. Its not cheap, but thats not my gripe... my only issue is the water dispenser. There is a copper coil that winds down from the ceiling to a complicated spigot that is very industrial and not designed to be intuitive and obvious. It took me at least a full minute to figure it out and literally asked for backup from my table because I was so confused. This is my one and only very small gripe, honestly Id give them a 4.9 star but that wasnt an option.

CUTE COFFEE SHOP ! My wife and I checked out this recently opened location this afternoon. We were fascinated to read recently that it had its own bakery which would supply all their coffee shops. I walked in and asked a female employee behind the counter about their sandwiches on the menu board and did the bakery here supply all the other Bird Rock Coffee locations ? Just the pastries baked here are supplied to the other coffee shops was her reply. The grilled sandwiches are only available right here. Its a small space inside but has a huge outdoor patio out the front.

If big, corporate, sugared-down coffee is your thing, then Bird Rock isnt for you. Bird Rock offers quality coffee and tea, made the way it was meant to taste. I do wish theyd offer a better selection of food for those with dietary restrictions/allergies but thats not why I took off a star. Their service isnt very friendly... and I think its because I dont look like your typical Bressi Ranch housewife. Oh well.

Already been here at least a dozen times since they opened and it’s become my go to coffee shop. About the same level as Lofty Coffee and much better than Starbucks and Peet’s in my opinion. The breakfast burritos are delicious but inconsistent. My first one was honestly one of the best breakfast sausage burritos I’ve ever had...but the last few have been considerably smaller and very little sausage which is disappointing. Also, make sure you ask for the sauce that comes with it on the side because they often times forget to give it to you with your burrito and it’s amazing!

First time visit: For the price it’s not worth the unfriendly welcome, burnt milk and lukewarm coffee (not busy, big staff on the clock). I’ll be going back to Peet’s where they never disappoint and you can build points. And if this sounds too quick to judge for a first time visit, unfortunately first impressions count when you’re paying for it, and with a strong competitor a minute away in a quieter environment, it’s quite obvious what’s worth the cost.

Really disappointed for my first visit on the opening day. Maybe machines were not totally adjusted, but the espresso I ordered just came at a mild temperature and the shot was very bitter. The good thing was the cuteness of the espresso cups but does not justify the $3.50 paid. I prefer my home made Nespresso pods shots or the espresso shots from the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Company.

Try the Avocado toast... A 3/4 inch thick piece of sour dough with a couple thin slices of avo, a couple thin slices of radish and a few bean sprouts, salt and pepper and a drizzle of lite house dressing reminiscent of a nondescript balsamic taste... I thought, DANG!... Wheres the avo...it didnt look like MY avo toast with HALF an avo on just one slice of toast!!! BUT... I took a bite of the Bird Rock version and it was delicious-a-mundo... and with a great cup of Joe as well... Ill be going back. BRCR has a mellow atmosphere, seating outside and comfortable chairs... I didnt get the hours so you might want to call... Ill venture a guess BRCR is open for the morning rush...BRCR is about a mile east of the McClellan/Palomar Airport just off Palomar Airport Road...

Since I travel all around San Diego county for work, I love to give my coffee/breakfast/lunch business to establishments with free guest WiFi. I was excited that this new spot opened near one of my offices and decided to post up here for lunch. Seating inside was scarecrow as-is and the fact that they hosting a team training taking up four seats at the inside bar was super annoying. My colleague and I squeezed into a tiny round table with two laptops, drinks and two entrees.and it was less than cozy. To make make worse the WiFi was spotty at best. I would’ve hopped a coffee shop would invest in decent guest WiFi. Until they do, I guess I’m headed back to Peet’s.
