Just had a terrible experience in the drive thru… I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon, cheddar, and 1 egg, and a latte made with half n half instead of milk. She even had me repeat my order. Then I was charged for the sandwich with 2 eggs. The sandwich was gross, bacon was fatty and stringy and it had hardly no cheese on it. The latte was made with milk, not half n half, and was super watery and bland. So disappointed. This was my first time at this location. Not going back.
We go this place almost every week. All staff are very nice and they know what they are doing. They serve very good coffee too. But I still miss New York City bagels.10/21/18Usual Sunday morning meeting. Blueberry bagel with honey almond semester is good. Also My daughter got free bagel and cream cheese. Thanks
Dining room was closed. They were very busy, tho, with in store customers, online order pickups, and drive thru. Staff did an excellent job of serving customers quickly. Sandwiches were good, and those hashbrown things were delish! They had a few tables outside where we enjoyed our brunch.
We used to like Einstein as a special treat but wont be going back for a long time if ever. Decided to treat my family to breakfast this past Sunday, 3/28. Went inside and placed a $30 order and waited for OVER 30 minutes! People came and went, staff saw us standing there and promised our order was almost ready, hubby sat down on a side bench as his back was hurting so bad from standing that long..proceeded to get scolded by the manager...Sir, please stand and wait as we are NOT a sit down restaurant. Well, she saw us standing there for 40 MINUTES and did NOT offer to find out WHY were not getting our food. People and food came and went but not ours. FINALLY the girl at the register said, Wait, youre still here?!?!?.....walked over do drive thru, and there was a order. Oh, oops, it was put in the wrong line. OBVIOUSLY, our food was nasty, cold, and no offers to remake it fresh and hot NOR offers to give us some of our $$$ back. From time of our receipt to our cold food being handed to us, 42 minutes!!! YES, 42 MINUTES! TERRIBLE!
Good quality. Tasty bagels. A little on the expensive side but not too bad. Danishes and lunch foods available too (pizza bagels, bagel sandwiches, etc.).
I have been going to this location for a long time. I ordered a ham egg and cheddar on an everything bagel at the drive-through. When I got to the window she said a different order and she told me she was confused between my order and the another. The price seems high but paid. Then looked at the receipt and I noticed she had charged me for two eggs. I got her attention and I told her she rang it up wrong because I didn’t ask for two eggs. My past receipts also show sub to cheddar and she explained that as well on why it showed Swiss. She didn’t swear but I know she was ticked off as she was slamming register and talking out loud. Now they had to remake my sandwich. I get the same sandwich every time with no issues. It’s not my fault she got confused and rang up the sandwich wrong. I told her she didn’t need to get mad; she made comment that I was trying to make her lose her job. Like what???? She’s been at this location for a long time and I know it was busy and I prob should have gone inside but I thought drive thru would be better. It’s Monday, hectic and maybe she was stressing; I don’t know but the comment I was trying to make her lose her job was ridiculous. There was no intention on this. She did say have a good day repeatedly when I was trying to explain things. Happy Monday. Not sure now if I’ll go back to this location.
Bagels are the best... But the place needs a good cleaning. No reason for the drive up window to be covered with fingerprints and goop.
I have gotten drive thru at this location 2x this week and both times the service has been very rude. The food is good but the rude service does not warrant my visiting. Please retrain your team on basic customer service.
After a bad first experience at the store in Broad Ripple, my husband and i made our way to the Carmel location. The staff was very friendly and nice, we ordered our favorite Nova Lox Bagel while my husband got the crispy chicken sandwich. I was never really fond of Einsteins Bagels until I came to Indiana, i like how fresh the bagels are when i go to grab a bite to eat in the morning. I really like the different combinations of bagels you can get if youre choosing to have a sandwich instead of a plain bagel. The variety of Einsteins cream cheese/spreads they sell separately are pretty convenient too. I am heavily into spicy foods so sometimes ill get the jalapeno cheddar bagel. The jalapeno and cheddar cheese are almost embedded on the outer part of the bagel, it is so yummy. If you cannot have dairy or allergies to dairy they offer Daiya shmear (spread)which contains no dairy, youll still be able to enjoy the creamy taste of a spread on your bagel.I recommend this bagelry if youre wanting something light for breakfast or just a healthy light lunch this is the place to go.
Sorry Einstein, but you lost my 5 star review. I was excited to try the order ahead option in the app and especially when I saw that you could try their new cold brew coffees for free with purchase on the app. Well, that promotion didnt work. Paid full price for the coffee. The absolute worst part is that they have a curbside pickup option, and this location is TOO LAZY to do curbside. If youre too busy or not equipped for this option, dont offer it in the app! I sat and waited in my car for awhile, called the store (they wont answer) and finally got frustrated enough to go inside - my order was sitting on the mobile orders table. I was going to ask the staff how the heck I was supposed to know they dont actually do curbside, but no staff was to be found.
Had a promotional dral if you ordered ahead. Order ahead didnt work.
Extremely Rude...Will not ever be coming back.I went to pickup my food that I ordered in the drive through the drive through girl was extremely disrespectful and had so much attitude. My order was wrong and there was hair in my food. When I told the drive through girl that my order was wrong she was extremely aggressive and handed me my coffee so hard that it spilt all over me...She laughed and closed the window. When I spoke to the manager Kelly on the phone she was no help and extremely disrespectful will not ever be coming again!!!
My dad loves their steak burrito for breakfast.
Quality stuff! well beyond other drive-thru shops!!
The girls were very friendly this a.m. who helped me. Keep up the good work!
The Asiago bagels are the bomb
Great bagels and the staff was friendly. Not sure they are changing between touching a credit card and then touching food though. Giving 5 stars as noted this after and didnt stay to double check.
I have been coming here for a few years and I can honestly say the staff is AMAZING. I LOVE them and they do a great job considering the heavy volume of customers. No place after Church that I want to be and not a Better Group of Employees PERIOD.
Cashier was rather rude. Einstein stopped selling sundried tomato cream cheese. 🥺🥺
Best bagels ever. We had a location in speedway. It closed!!! So sad, when we find another location, it’s a must to stop and get those Einstein Bagels! Please, please come back to the Speedway, IN area. You are missed. Best yum, yum bagels ever! Never disappointed! Hey, coffee is very good also.
Nice bagels
Staff and food quality is ok.
A good place to go for bagels. They have many different kinds available. I enjoyed the classic plain bagels. As others have said, the early people get the better choices. Check them out sometime soon.
Customer Service was poor. I asked for a description of the pretzel bagel and was told it tastes like a bagel. I took a bite and it was awfully salted. When I said this, the person at the counter said, Well it is a bagel. I responded, I did not know it would be salted. She said, Well if you looked at it down there, you can see the salt on them. I paid for yet another bagel. I suggested she tell people it was salted if they asked for a description.
I have been stopping on my way to work and using the drive thru. The food is excellent and the time in line is acceptable. But... at least one of the employees continuously wears gloves. She handles her phone, money, works the register AND makes food all with the same gloves. Yuck.
Its always the same with Einsteins. You show up wanting some kind of bagel and they are out. I went at 9 am Sunday and they were out of onion bagels. I could see if it was just before closing but at 9am? Did you not expect any customers today ? Its practically Everytime we go. Which is now why we dont go much and certainly never past 10am. The bagels are ok. Nothing special. They do have a lot of options and drink choices which is nice. The whipped cream cheese is enough to make you go.
I usually dont like bagel breakfast sandwiches, but thats not the case here. Very tasty.
Good bagels and variety. Coffee is good, bot too busy on saturday morning
I LOVE the food and the coffee! But I have never been to a slower drive thru!!! Every single time it takes at least 15 minutes and its not because there are 10 cars ahead of me. Usually just 2 or 3. Several times (like today) I have had to just drive away.
We attempt to go every Saturday morning, and EVERY Saturday morning they are out of everything. To top it off, they don’t tell you when you order. You sit in the drive through line for 20+ minutes and then they tell you once you get to the window. You are open until 3pm, you shouldn’t run out of every bagel by 11am!!!!! Make more in the morning, this is not that difficult of a concept. We are done at this location.
The Nova Lox is amazing.
Great location! Fast service. This is the first time I have been here. I only bought 1 cream cheese...I guess the manager? noticed that and asked me if I was taking my bagels into the office. I said yes...he then told me that 1 cream cheese just wouldnt be enough. He told me to just grab another one on the house. SO NICE of him. That is some great customer experience. Good job! :)
Staff does not listen. I asked for an apple cinnamon bagel with honey walnut cc. Nothing done to the bagel, not sliced, not toasted, and to go. The first time the gave me the bagel with the cream cheese on the bagel. I asked to have it on the side. So they had to put it together again. This time I raised my voice so the women putting it together could hear: nothing to the bagel, not sliced, not toasted, nothing They give it to me in a bag, and I walk out to my car. I pull the bagel out, and its sliced. Unbelievable.
I have been here a few times and loved it but on July 5th I had a horrible experience. The lady at the window clearly didn’t want to be at work. She rushed me with my order and when I got to the window I handed her my card and said thank you, she slammed the window pretty hard.. multiple times actually. Then when I got to work my $6 breakfast bagel was soggy. I don’t like to complain because I do love this place but I will probably never order bagels from here again. I ended up throwing my sandwich in the trash because it was so gross.
Bagels are great BUT customer service is terrible. I went in this morning and there were 2 young ladies behind the counter. One was at the register already helping a gentleman and the other was on the side where is says to order here (she has long multi colored braids). Well she was to busy texting and stated to me that the other girl, who was still helping someone can help me. She continued to text for a good 5 mins before she even helped anyone. NOT good customer service!
Usual good quality bagels and coffee. Roomy and relaxed place to chill.
Good bagels but the BMV is more efficient of an operation than this place.
Ive always had a pretty decent service here and the food is good. Sometimes they run out of the bagel I want but Im not picky, Im just hungry.
They sell a strong variety of great tasting bagels but the bagel-bins are often empty. Choices are limited and my favorites are not available when I arrive.Could be a good restaurant, but a consistent lack of freshly made bagels continues to disappoint.
Food is good, but counter staff is NOT friendly, they are more sullen and clearly would rather not be there. Management - this is your issue - if you expect to hit your monthly numbers, you better change this or people will go elsewhere.
I am in love with their bagels. They are fresh, warm and soft and taste amazing with different spreads (or shmears, as they call it), especially when you are not in a mood for making breakfast. I have so far tried their strawberry, onion and chive and smoked salmon shmears along side onion and everything bagels (not together, of course). This place is a must try.
Favorite thing about this place is the variety! Bagels, breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches as well. A little pricey, but I think its worth it!
Orders were taken correctly but when the food finally comes not a single thing was correct.
Great servers and atmosphere. The food was good
I love Einstein bagels, but the service at this location is less than stellar. I understand thee get super busy on the weekends, but there is often a long wait for items, especially in the lobby. Sevice seems to be focused on the drive thru. Some people have waited for 20 minutes or more for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. This location needs to work on customer service and timing.
This place is mostly dismal but being one of the only bagel shops around keeps me occasionally coming back. Count on at least 5 minutes if you want to use the drive-thru. Sometimes parking and going in is a better choice, but that means that youll have to see the messiness of the food prep area. The food itself consistently fresh and good and the store most often gets orders correct, both factors that earn 2 stars instead of 1.Disclaimer: this review was written while waiting in line at the drive thru.
Did not enjoy my bagel at all. Had everything bagel with garden veggies cream cheese. Tasted very gritty.
Love the bagel breakfast sandwich. Service is fine. Coffee is okay. But the reason for my low rating is 100% due to the unusable internet. The CarX across the street is 100x better. Myself and others have alerted mgmt. The response is they called corporate and IT said everything looks fine. I have been going to this EB location for 10 years. Ever since they upgraded the wireless about 2 years ago the internet has been abysmal. Mgmt, Im at a 5 if you just face the facts and fix your internet.
Great bagels & breakfast / lunch items !
Cold bacon and an expired fruit cup. Need I say more? Saving grace, there was NO argument when I came time for a refund.
Bagels are great to drop off at offices, drive thru is easy!
I dont think Ill be stepping in this store again. The heat was turned on so high I had to eat my food quickly and leave to avoid sweating (i noticed others customers were uncomfortable as well). The selection of bagels was almost completely empty for lunchtime and the coffee was nearly empty. The staff was disengaged when they werent actively yelling at each other (two having an argument directly behind the display of missing bagels). To top it off, the ceiling tiles are disgusting and Im pretty sure I saw evidence of mold on one of them.Considering that the previous commenters have said the same things, its obvious this location hasnt addressed its issues. Its a shame as Ive always loved Einstein bagels, but this location has completely lost my faith in it specifically, and has damaged Einstein bagels reputation to me as a whole. Ill think twice before stepping in another one.
One of our favorite places for breakfast. However this Carmel location is not consistent with service or even where to order or pay. May as well ignore the order herer and pay here signs. Wait time even when not busy is also not consistent. Perhaps it is an issue the way they manage drive through? The Castleton location is more consistent.
Sunday morning staff was crazy slow and unhelpful. Quite rude. Waited 20 minutes for 2 bagels. Felt unorganized. Recommend going elsewhere for a quick bite
Every other time I get home from the drive thru they somehow messed up my order. Today I asked for cream cheese but got peanut butter!!!!!! Good thing I dont have an allergy.
Pretty slow for a drive through. Not sure its a great place to grab a fast lunch. Got a few minutes down the road and realized i got the wrong sandwhich. I was the only car in the drive though so Im not sure how it happened.
Advertises they open at 6 on Sunday, yet they dont. Got there at 6:05, not open, lights off, but you see workers. I waited awhile. Workers ignored everyone waiting in drive thru and at door. I have work at 6:30, left at 6:20 and still wasnt open. If you cant open on time, dont advertise that time.
Garbage! Was nice to give 2 stars. Not the type of service and hospitality youd expect from this side of town! Wont be going back!
My favorite bagel and coffee place. Large bright clean seating. Great wifi!
Great bagels, and low wait time. Would definitely go back
I decided to give this location one more chance. Wrong choice. I sat in the drive thru and NO ONE asked to take my order. Got tired of waiting and went to another restaurant that actually acknowledged there was someone in their drive thru. Very poor service at this location. Disappointing because I love Einstein Bros. Bagels. :(
Once again, this location continues to disappoint. I’ve gone several times hoping that it was just a bad day for them, but now I truly don’t understand. Waited over 15mins in the drive thru (I’ve learned that is pretty common for this location to wait a very long time), only 3 cars in the line yet somehow I was still given the incorrect order. Paid over $15 to receive a bag full of wrong items even though there were hardly any cars in the line for them to mess up. A time prior to that the staff provided me with a bagel so smashed and covered in cream cheese I had to throw it away because I couldn’t even get it out of the paper. I don’t know if this location will ever get it together.
Staff is rude and disrespectful - anti-serrvice attitude there currently. Im sorry it has changed for the worse. Use to love coming here.
20 minutes wait. I asked for a Mac sandwich with no bacon for my wife and I got a chicken breakfast sandwich. After the long wait on a to go order I arrived at home with two chicken breakfast sandwiches with bacon. My vegetarian wife was sad unable to eat it obviously and I am beyond furious. 15 bucks for a terrible and long experience. Pathetic...
Incredibly understaffed. Always ridiculously long lines and wait times. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first, and clearly the staff is doing the best they can under the circumstances, but the wait times are so so bad.
Absolutely the slowest worst drive thru experience of my life any day I dare stop by this god forsaken store.
Have been coming to the carmel location for about 10 years and have always had a great experience!
Nice staff, quick, and easy! I still think Einstein makes the worst potato salad ever I cant even finish it but everything else is wonderful!
Great place that also gives back to the community.
Excellent coffee and Bagel. Great place for meetings and personal quiet time.
Service struggling today. Food fresh, coffee nearly all out...
Have gone here a handful of times out of convenience, and each time has been a bad experience. Todays was fueled by not receiving what I had ordered in the drive thru, and instead receiving a carbon copy of my husbands order (even though we paid more for the speciality sandwich I had requested).
Horrible Service. OMG where do I start. I honestly dont want to waste my time complaining, because I invest to much of my time just to get a simple bagel and coffee. Wifi is slower than dirt. Ran out of bacon. Workers have no sense of customer service. Going here in the morning is a chore itself. I feel like I have to go into work, before I actually go into work. Schedule a good 15 - 20 mins if you dare to use the drive- thru. Only place around so Im stuck.
Jockey through the frantically crowded parking lot (liberally sprinkled with cavernous drainage pits) and squeeze past the endless drive thru line to find a parking spot. Wait in line to place your order. Wait in yet another line to pay for your order (if youre lucky both lines will be staffed by the same harried employee who shuttles back and forth between them, thus greatly contributing to overall efficiency). Send a member of your party to wait in line for a table while you wait in line (more like a scrum) for your food. If you manage to find a table that isnt liberally coated with crumbs and other food debris, getting there could prove a challenge. Youll need to wend your way between the haphazard chaos of tables and chairs, mostly occupied by immensely self-satisfied persons leaning back comfortably whilst discoursing loudly and authoritatively on any number of subjects and fondling their coffee cups. Would not be surprised to learn that some of them live in the dining area. The specially designed drink area encourages nonlinear movement, maximizing opportunities to wait in line for what you want. Tea dispenser empty yet again? No worries - just stand in another off-to-the-side line somewhere up front and eventually a friendly staffer will half fill your container (theyre running low back there and need to conserve, dontcha know). Unfortunately theyre out of the first two bagels you want, but hey! Choice three is available. Too bad they got your order wrong, but if you stand in line again theyll be happy to correct it. Eventually. (Before asking for a correction, be sure to weigh the time likely required against your remaining life expectancy.) Good workers, considering how overwhelmed they seem, and good food at decent prices. Youll just need to decide whether its worth the hassle; could be, except perhaps if youre hungry and wait times push thirty minutes. Certainly, lots of other folks seem to like it. Need to change the name to Linesteins.Update: other family members remain enthralled, so we persist in visiting this place. Ill add it to the very long list of things I dont understand. In the meantime a couple of observations based on enduring additional visits. Theres been a tendency to combine the order and payment lines, which is a welcome development. Iced tea appears to be even more precious than before; this exceedingly rare commodity is now available only behind the counter, and only in the company of enormous amounts of ice, so that the fluid content is as minimal as possible, like ice anointed with a spritzer of tea. Order accuracy appears unchanged; asking to have an ingredient left off is like asking staff to square a circle. Utensils may or may not be available for extracting materials you didnt want on your bagel without rendering your fingers covered with schmear. Fortunately, marginal bathrooms are available for decontamination purposes. Despite apparent visual evidence to the contrary I HAVE on rare occasion observed staff emptying the overflowing trash receptacles. Two stars for meeting my low expectations. All right - enough complaining. Now that were done here I think Ill go get an actual lunch somewhere else.Back on behalf of a sick family member who thinks this place is the bees knees. Waiting, as usual, but amusing myself in a twisted way by watching the endless parade of customers returning their messed up orders. However, the crowd seems a little thinner today than usual. An ordinary high school basketball court could probably serve as an appropriately sized waiting area today. Usually they need Lucas Oil Stadium. I dont get the appeal but its clear Im in the minority.
I love einsteins but this store is terrible. There is always only 2-3 people working and drive thru takes soooo long.
I crave the breakfast bagel sandwiches. Love this place!
Its always busy in the morning, but the coffee is way better than Starbucks!
Worst place to get lunch. It takes 10ish minutes to get your food in the drive through. Watch out! More than likely you order will be wrong or you will have stale bread. This has happened to me 3 time now!! This place should not even be open.
Waited 25 mins in drive thru. Would have just left the line if i wasnt stuck in the middle. Finally picked up order and entire order is wrong. Would not recommend.
My first meal of the year after getting out of the hospital on New Years day
Open early, great place to meet in the morning. Good bagels, coffee, tea.
Went there early (6:30AM) for bagel and juice and tea. My mistake was going through the drive through. Took my money, then my order sat on the counter within sight, while they (the three staff) went back to making sandwiches for what I assume was a larger order. Why did it take almost 4 minutes to wait when there wasnt ANYONE else in line!?!?
OVERPRICED Bagels ($1+ upcharge for butter per bagel) and screwed up the simplest of orders...
Staff has changed but service is still good and coffee is always hot. ☕👍
Love their food, but not customer friendly.
Without a doubt the best bagels I have found in the area. I really like the Apple Cinnamon. There are 5 coffee flavors available and I like the fact that the coffee is self-serve rather than held-hostage by a barista (Starbucks). Some comfortable bench seats around the perimeter. Coke machine is the old-school kind (a good thing) and not the new freestyle type. Order here /pay here gets a bit confusing depending on staffing and business. If you bring your own coffee mug, they charge the refill price of $1.19 - a good savings!Free unsecure WiFi speedtest1Mbps download, 1Mbps upload
Terrible drive-thru experience today- it took forever, the side of potato salad was missing, the type of bagel for the nova lox was wrong and turkey slices werent even spread out in the turkey bacon bagel. Ridiculous.
Sometimes I have to wait 10 mins in the drive thru before my order is taken..glad I left for work early!
Some of the best bagels ever
Service and food were good. Dining area was really claustrophobic.
Excellent place for morning Java and good treats.
Best bagels in town!
Great coffee, good food, just dont be in a rush
Only place you can get onion bagels
Great bagels and lots of terrific people.
That Bagel Boi is hawt
Ordered bagels. Were not toasted, wrong bagels, customer service was terrible. Not the first time this has happened.
O $3 for a bagel with cream cheese and you gotta wait 15 minutes. That is so overly ridiculous I will not be back Panera is cheaper and quicker
I know things happen but this has happened on multiple occasions at this particular store where they get the order wrong and dont give you something youve paid for and dont realize it until you get home and its too late. Wont be coming back
Apple cinnamon bagel is awesome
