I was denied a written communication with the mask-covered customer service desk lady, on the return of product. It is a violation of the ADA Law.
Normally this place is pretty good. Customer Service is lacking though. Bought 20 stones for our yard and they were marked 54 cents each. They rang up 1.79 each. When we asked the customer service desk about it they said the sign was in the wrong place. How is this our fault? They should have honored the price for us and then changed the sign!! So ridiculous!!!!
Huge store. Wish I had more time to look around. Good prices from what I saw. Parking lot was major busy but it was a Saturday afternoon when I stopped in.
I love mennards... but it is unacceptable ... I tried to pay for a water softener and the protection plan three times, the cash registers and plumbing area have very bad communication ... situation that made me walk through the store to see who showed empathy and me he helped or informed me better. I think they should improve the customer service area.
Would of been a 5 star experience if the man in the lumber department hadnt said to me that they couldnt cut a 4x4 pc of wood into a 3x4..really come on a hardware that cant cut wood 🙄
I went to this store to return some items which were never opened nor used. The manager refused to accept my returns. I feel strongly that the manager was discriminating against me because of my skin color. His name is Freddy. I had the product in brand new condition along with the receipt and I was happy to take Menards in-store credit, but he arbitrarily refused to accept the products!?
Was told by the pro desk they will price match. Pro desk manager said the cashier would change it. Then told by cashier they dont price match. Then was told by another cashier they do sometimes. Then was told by manager they do price match. Manager went to verify price match. He was gone 15 mins and I just said forget it. The head cashier then acted mad because I didnt want them. Like I was wasting her time! Lol. I apologized to the old couple who was in line behind me and left.
A bit disappointed in the customer service at this location. I tried to wave down and asked multiple employees to help me lift storage racks onto a cart and I was avoided like the plague. So I struggled and muscled through it to get them on the cart. Then while checking out, Michael the cashier asked if we needed help loading it into the vehicle and he got another associate to call for help loading and we waited for no one to show up. Moral of the story is if you need help loading a cart or car, you’re on your own. Michael was great and I’m sure if he didn’t have a lane he would’ve helped us himself.
Assoc in paint dept very helpful. Took a paint formula from several years ago to get matched for a painting project. They took the time to make sure the paint matched my old color/shade perfectly
I live 5 min from home depot but today I decided to go to manerds because I thought I will found what I need unfortunately Erik sale person in plumbing make me hate my day and my decision to go to manerds he is a road person unpleasant .people like Erik they should not be in sale floor and I hope some one in that store(manerds in Westfield indiana)do something about Eriks action
They care more about mask enforcement than helping me with my project needs. I was trying to tell my wife something and pulled my mask down briefly. I was quickly corrected by an employee who then watched me like a child afterwards. I have a small business so I literally spend thousands there every year. Its always been my favorite place but that has changed. I want you to sell me lumber and such and not get involved with my medicalcare. I already have a doctor. Menards used to be my go-to spot but Im officially switching stores.
Good place, advertised itens in stock, friendly clerks willing to help.
I have been shopping at Menards in Carmel since it was built. Almost 30 years. I am a contractor. The current Menards store manager has now ruined that relationship. I now have many other people say they have had run ins with him and he is very rude and condescending. I called him out on that and am now banned from the store. It is sad that Menards is allowing this. The Menards headquarters has done nothing with the formal complaints. I even see a few reviews from above that have said they had run ins with the manager. Very disappointed but my dollar and my business will be elsewhere until this is resolved.
Clean store. And Lauren, the manager up front is very helpful.
There was no body in the garden department so I was able to check out & talk to the cashier for a few minutes. That was nice, no one pushing to get things done.
Steer clear until they fire Ian. We walked in sipping a coffee and were harshly “greeted” by him coming in hot and telling us we better pull up our masks between sips of our drink. Horrible people skills. Then he proceeded to follow us around making sure we listened. When we were in line checking out he came by and told us to leave because he “caught” my husband taking a drink of his coffee in line and not pulling it up right away. We are homeowners who have spend tens of thousands of dollars here. I’m done. Lowe’s and Home Depot don’t allow their employees to treat people like diseases. I’ll be shopping there from now on.
Good inventory. Found items I couldnt get elsewhere. Polite cashier. Quick and efficient shopping.
Will never use Menards delivery service ever again. Wife & I bought a refrigerator and scheduled for AM delivery. Called the store at 11:40 to get an estimated delivery time. Was advised by Daniel that the driver left and our item was not on his load. Called again at 2:30 and Daniel then again advised the driver had not returned from his first load. At 4:00 I called for a third time and spoke with Daniel. He advised he was helping the driver load my refrigerator on his truck. When I asked him about my wife and I requesting a morning delivery he advised us that Well the driver kind of makes his own schedule. Wow! Why give the customer the option on a delivery window when you completely disregard that. Horrible customer service.
Worst Menards in Indiana, I would NOT recommend going there unless you like half-@$$ service and EXTREMELY rude stuck-up people that act like its a bother to help the CUSTOMER.
Was out in Carmel In and went by Menards its very clean and helpful employees 👌
It was great, good deal on my tiller, & people available to serve...good job.
Mask they sold me broke well in the store one associate said oh not a problem let me go get you another one. then a manager came along and practically yelled at me stating that I had to proceed to the front of the story immediately even though I was at the checkout line to procure replacement mask. Could have been handled alot better
I find it unbelievable how Menards is handling a complete error on their part. I ordered a vanity sink top through them. I reviewed the order in the store and paid to get a detailed template sent to me. The template was correct and I confirmed the order online. I did not receive the correct order at no fault of my own. Initially they offered me $50 on a $1300 quartz sink top. After further discussion with the general manager, I was offered a $200 credit. I was not even offered a reasonable refund for an error completely on their part. Be careful with special orders through them as they do not honor their commitments. Very disappointing.
Went to make a return. I knew I didnt have the receipt, but I also know they have the little kiosk that will print the receipt for you. Of course, the kiosk isnt working, so sorry about your luck but its store credit or nothing for you. For some reason, YOUR machine isnt working so IM the one who is penalized. When is Menards going to get on board with EVERY OTHER store and look things up on your card at the register instead of using the kiosk? Its such a waste of paper anyway to reprint something that Im returning.
Nobody on the floor to help when I finally dug someone up they didnt know a thing about store, items, even where the restrooms were.
Last electronic tiller that was in the store, box was damaged. Asked an employee about it and he just kinda blew me off, said “it’ll be fine” and kept walking like I didn’t matter at all.
Clean and very helpful staff!
Menards Westfield is one of the cleanliest (newest), well maintained, and best stocked Menards of the 3 in the vicinity. The variety is far better here than any of the other two I visit and is a bit more upscale so if Im looking for a potentially hard to find/variation Ill drive the extra 10 miles here. The personnel are generally helpful, but Id say the returns desk people have not always been cheerful. I think that would help the overall pleasantness of this store. I dont visit this location because of its proximity as frequently as the Castleton store so if I did I might bump it up to 5 stars. I will say the staff overall at this location are more polite and present themselves more professionally but you are in an affluent location so thats expected, although youd hope all stores would rise to that standard - but dont.
Will never shop here again! Forgot my receipt, returned to get copy. After verifying that I had been in the store, they refused to give me a copy. Against company policy. Really? I have had no problem getting copies at the Fishers location. Maybe they dont know how? Being lazy? Worst of all, I went out of my way to visit this location. Shame on you Carmel!
Found nearly everything we needed. In the past they carried Sparkle glass cleaner. Not available this trip.
Customer service when it comes to returns at this location is very unprofessional. They make you feel like you’re doing something wrong each time. Many people buy extra things when it comes to an entire home remodeling project as you don’t want to continually wait in lines if you don’t grab enough. This location needs extra love and training in regard to treating customers with the same level of respect and positivity as they do when a customer is purchasing when the same customer is returning things. Lowe’s is hands down a leader in customer service and the reason why I’ll pay a little extra.
Horribly rude manager. will be boycotting this place until they learn how to treat human beings with dignity and respect
Easy maneuvering through store, even during this busy spring season!
Love Menards! I always walk out with more than what I came in for. So many cool items at good prices. Then I get my 11% rebate too!
Always fun to go with my hubby. You never know what goodies you will find.
Rude employee with no common sense for customer satisfaction. Shop there so much, Ive been asked if I have a Menards tatoo. Amazing how one poor customer service experience can ruin it. I didnt complain, just left and went across the street to Lowes. What I find especially interesting is the lack of responses by the store to their negative reviews. Just reinforces a we-dont-care image. I rebuilt my house over the past decade with their products. Time for a new store.
These mask nazis lost a lifelong customer, today. Enforcing masking in the OUTDOOR garden center. I will spend my money at Lowes.
Always a great store to shop at and l find most of staff willing to help you but in the garden area they are always very pleasant and helpful. Thank you
Jeff was a great help in the paint department!
Had a great experience at Menards, buying a ladder. Fritz, the sales person in the department helped me find the right ladder, and Gage, the sales person in the adjoining department, helped to get the ladder purchased and held for pickup. Great service Fritz and Gage.
Disappointed doesnt even begin to describe how I feel about my experience at Menards. A manager by the name of Ian was extremely rude and disrespectful. Very unprofessional. I went in there to buy a pole barn and ended up going to Home Depot instead. I have shopped at Menards in Fishers for years and have always liked the customer service there. I will continue going there or to other hardware stores. 0 out of 10, would not recommend.
Would give a negative rating if possible. Special ordered material and paid to have it delivered. Material received was entirely unusable. Returned merchandise for refund and had to pay Menards a significant restocking fee to take it back. A fee to take back material that was of too poor manufacture that it couldn’t even be used. I’ve spent so much money at this location and been a great customer for years only to be treated like this. GM failing to make it right is John. SHOP ELSEWHERE! Lowe’s is right across the street!
Waited all most one hour to get 37 sheets of plywood loaded into my truck
Helpful associates to assist you, clean Lumber Yard and great inventory of in stock items. The Menards web site is helpful finding what you need and if its in stock at your local store.
Menards in Carmel a staple big box store. Good staff that help grow our business by being great service to us. They have all the products one can use for Rehabbing homes and remodeling. For gosh sakes it Menards... a great supplier retail and commercial.
I was surprised to see the parking lot so full when I drive up. I am glad they require masks, that makes me feel more secure. Easy in and out. No issues...
Service with other department are great, however this location needs to add more customers service associates in the front. Waited almost 23 minutes, so I can get help buying a mask. Please consider adding more customer service associates.
Always find the best snacks here and get what we need quickly
Menards has a great variety of supplies. They also carry food..dog food...clothing..
Helpful staff. Well organized store.
No complaints. Found everything I needed.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair pricing for so many home improvement items.
I actually like Menards. Just not the Carmel location. Worth the drive to Kokomo for knowledgeable staff and good customer service. If you prefer to use a Hamilton county location, I recommend Fishers.UPDATE: Visited this Menards location again. Yep, still needs some help;especially the yard. I suggest corporate come train.
Useful store as always. Helpful staff. Car jacks (at this time) are overpriced, but still a nice selection. I found a better deal elsewhere, but the store is still useful.
Wonderful experience. Becca was my cashier, and she did a great job. Becca deserves a raise.
First time in Menards. What an awesome store. Had so many things.
Ian, the front end manager is rude and inconsiderate. He wasn’t paying attention to me when I was talking to him him. He cared more about another Menards associate questions more then my needs.
Did a Pick-Up order. I could find no information on the website about how long it took. So I was like I will go get dinner and wait a bit. I got the first email, but it told me nothing about pick up time possibility. So I waited. At 8:30 I gave up and went inside to get my item. I guess I will just let my order expire. If I had known it took more than a few hours I would have just went inside to begin with.
Poor customer service. You are greeted very harshly upon entry if you are not wearing a mask. Apparently that is a requirement at this store. They make it right by capitalizing on it and offering to sell you one for a dollar, though. I spent my dollar elsewhere.
Its Menards. Best hardware store around. Always the best prices.
Only shop in here if you have time to waste and patience to deal with poor customer service and attitudes. Customer service is super slow! We were accosted by a female associate for asking if the store provided complimentary masks. She asked if we knew how many customers they had and how unrealistically providing free masks would be! We shared that other stores with a high volume of customers do provide complimentary masks. She became more aggressive as we talked and when the manager arrived he was useless in controlling his employee!
My husband came in this afternoon to try and get some help to make some building plans for a outdoor pergola for our patio. Your employees blew him off and told him to do it by himself on the computer. They were very RUDE when he asked a question because the options were not correct when we was looking for it.We will obviously take out business else where.
The prices are usually less than Lowe’s and Home Depot but not always. They have a really good candy section -unfortunately -but it was definitely a savings for Halloween.
I like Menards. But personally, I think mandatory mask is BS. If 6 is sufficient, my 10 min is over kill, so why a mask. Also, lumber yard security is an absolute joke. I went in 2 diff lumber yards, Menards lumber still in my truck from my visit to another store on monday. Neither security looked or even asked if I had anything. Going in, I scanned the correct bar code, going out i purposely scanned the other stores bar code and was released both times without a hitch.
Love Menard with 11% rebate on everything
Tim and Dave near the building materials were great help!! Thank you gentlemen
Really good hardware store. I find there electrical section very good.
All around lousy service.. lady at customer service was not friendly. I am 8mo pregnant and had to walk from customer service to the furthest corner of the store, where I stood around waiting for someone to help me figure out where I could actually pickup my order, only to get a sticker for a pickup that I had to pick myself, and find 3 employees just standing around chatting in the department I ordered from. So I hauled a ceiling fan back to the front desk to do a return so that I could apply a credit, the lady was reluctant to let me come through the entrance to get back to customer service without having to walk all the way around through the checkout lanes, when she knew I just needed to process the return, but did let me through. Then I had to go to the lumber area, but the manager wouldnt let me take the direct route from customer service through the checkout lanes, so I had to do a full circle to get to lumber, where there was no one working and I had to wait, finally got a slip for some lumber that was inside, so they sent me to pick it myself (again, 8mo pregnant) and there were no available lumber carts, so I walked around for 10min and finally found a flat cart that I was able to use to load everything I needed. Finally the girl at checkout was friendly and considerate and asked me if I needed help loading my purchase in my car, which I gladly accepted. Menards is such a huge pain, I will be shopping at the Lowes across the street in the future.
If you absolutely have to go to Menards, go in... DO NOT buy online and expect to be able to pick it up in store, even if their website says they have the item in stock. They will make you last through multiple phone transfers and then you still have to email customer service to cancel the order when they charge you even when the item is on backorder.
Selection of hardware and lumber is of better quality as compared with Blue and Orange competitors. Particularly if you are looking for wood products, they are more akin to an actual lumber yard.Customer service can be hit or miss. Have had great experiences, but also some less than stellar.
Great service in garden and landscaping department. Eric was very courteous, helpful and careful with loading stones into my car. I really appreciated that.
I LOVE Menards. Ive moved to Tennessee and we dont have one.
You name it, theyve probably got it. Store always clean, not cluttered, reasonsble to high end prices. Good place to shop. Masks required.
Found everything I needed with help from the friendly staff.
One man was rude about the mask, I have one and it slips off sometimes, one gentleman employee ask me nicely earlier to put it on, so I did and at checkout another employee approached me and was very rude about making sure my mask was on.
Ian was extremely rude and condescending to me.
Great ads this week & always helpful employees
Went to menards to get supplies to finish a fence for my boss. On the way out we are grabbed by loss prevention and accused of stealing. Had to empty our pockets in front of everyone inside the store. Do you know how embarrassing it is to be accused of stealing in front of about a hundred people with this lady talking loud enough everyone in the front stopped and looked at us no way I will ever step foot inside of menards ever again
Everyone was friendly and very helpful.
Get rid of the mask requirement! I had a mask in my pocket it does not say how I need to wear it. In my pocket is no different than people having it under their nose or around their neck.
Hard to find a person to help you if you need it. Outside of that, havent had many issues.
Really good late night
Basic home improvement store helpful employees who know where stuff is, personal preference I like menards over other big box stores, plus the 11% off offers they run are really nice
They are nazis about the masks, I have asthma and cannot wear a mask, yet they followed me around the store humiliating me, yelling at me and coming very close to me trying to get me to put on a mask. I left and went to Lowes and spent 20k on kitchen cabinets.
Great prices and awesome people
Easily the worst menards in the chain. if it is raining outside, it is raining inside. why don’t they repair the roof? the hours on the door are not correct, and the employees become argumentative (shout out to manager Ian who raises his voice to “help”) when you inform them that their signage is incorrect. the incompetence starts at the top and trickles down at this store. do yourself a favor and go to another menards, or lowes is right next door. OH! don’t count on the rebates, they only process 1/2 of what you send in, claiming they never received the form.
Occasional stocking issues, but overall a pretty good hardware store
Waited 6 weeks for 2 vanity tops. Got an email that said they were in. Went to pick up. One was defective, one was missing. My only option was go get a refund... no customer service. Ill go elsewhere.
Gentleman sales person offered help before I even thought to ask in pre- colored wood trim. Very kind & helpful.
Hours on the door said they are open until 10 on Wednesday, but they closed at 9. Wouldnt that be simple to fix?
Got everything I wanted wood pellets and ice melt
Great place for cheap parts to finish weekend projects. Staff is helpful and polite.
Clean store, well stocked, and friendly service. Prices are excellent as well.
Prices beat most other competitors and the 11% rebates are great.
Not good.I sat for a hour waiting for someone to bring my order out to me.After talking to 3 people.I finally got it. I ordered 43 brackets for my fence and I only got 24. But online it said the store had 43.
