We go there not expecting much. This time was very different. Elizabeth our cashier took her time with me and didn’t rush me. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. The gentleman who was cashiering next to her was happy to help every other customer. I didn’t catch his name but he also took the time to cover the bed of the rental truck we got and helped my husband loaded up our purchase. They were extremely courteous. We would definitely just come back for the two of them! Thank you both.

Challenge was to put a window AC unit in a brick wall. Home Depot rental for an electric Concrete saw and purchased treated lumber. Its in, need to trim it out. Second weekend task was build a deck garden for my home bound mother. Again Home Depot had what I needed including lumber, fasteners and plants. Mid May project. Productive 24 hours with some great family helpers. August 3rd added an after photo of the deck garden. Thanks to Home Depotn, Miracle-Gro fertilizer and Sevin insect repellent the garden has filled in beautifully.

This store is smaller than most so they frequently are out of product. This last trip was no exception. This is why I dont like shopping this store. I do have to say the gentleman working the paint department was top notch. I would give him 5 stars.

Had to replace a cartridge for my bathtub faucet and Juan was able to assist me find the right tools and also give me an idea on how to get it done. I came back 3 times within an hour and he was very patient, friendly and knowledgeable every single time. Thank you for all you do Juan! We need more people like you.

Im a general contractor so I visit a lot of Home Depot’s around the Chicagoland area and they are all pretty much the same. They have what you need, the staff is friendly and willing to help if you need them, the prices are fair, the tool selection is not as large as Menards but they carry all the top brands like Dewalt and Milwaukee. And the pro extra rewards program is a nice thing to have, no other hardware store offers any type of rewards to professionals.

They have the nicest people at this Home Depot. Their garden center is incredible way better than Menards. I highly recommend this Home Depot

A great store for all of your handyman needs. It is well organized and well maintained. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable of the products. The selection is great and if they dont have it then you probably dont need it. The prices are fair and reasonable.

Planned to do a small home project, ordered what I needed, and picked up curbside. The curbside app didnt work for me, neither did texting the number on the sign at the designated parking spot. I had to call the store to have my order brought to my car.The young lady who brought out my purchase was friendly and helpful.The project was finished that day.All in all a success.

I was well attended with the Home Depot at Carol Stream staff. The store is organized and very clean including their restroom.

This home depot has a wonderful garden area.

This Home Depot has the most inventory. I go to a lot of Home Depot’s in the suburbs and this one is always the most active. There are always people in every aisle to help you if you have any questions. I came to return a vanity cabinet and they accepted it with no hassle. I appreciate not having to have to insert my card back in to finalize the return.

Bought a bunch of stuff today including a refrigerator. Got $50 bucks off for getting new Home Depot Card and 10% off for my refrigerator as well as $50 off for an energy efficient appliance!

I love that I can shop for what I need without assistance, but when assistance is needed there is always somebody available to help you. I went to self check out and an associate did all of my scanning. So nice and helpful.

Curbside service is not the same hours as store is open. Contractors come when you first open, so you should adjust accordingly to your clients not to the thought of 9-6 hours.

Basic home depot but the inability to reserve tool rentals (backhoe) online UNLESS you pay $200 delivery, then theyre happy to reserve!

I think his name was Dave.No store is perfect, but these folks do their best to make people happy. As a former retail employee myself, I know that some customers are never happy no matter what. Just the nature of the business unfortunately. Keep up the great work you guys!

Better selection of supplies than Menards.

Every visit to Home Depot is like taking a kid to a candy shop. I just want to buy everything I see. They always have everything I need in stock. It seems no matter how busy the store is, or should I say empty I always have to go looking for an employee to help me. Normally grouped up talking to each other. It seems they could do a better job if they paid more attention to the customers standing in the aisles with a dumbfounded look on their faces. Customer service can definitely improve. Would have given five stars if they were more attentive.

Employees are always friendly. Usually enough check out lanes available so you dont have to stand in line for too long. Knowledgeable staff helps my projects move along at a good pace. I visit frequently as were remodeling out entire townhouse.

Well it’s the holidays! What a time to get shafted by Home Depot. In early October (3) I went on the website to order a new microwave. I noticed online the price was 100 bucks more than any other place so I called to see if they would price match. They stated they didn’t understand why online it was 100 bucks more because in store it was marked for 399. Not 499. First thought what a rip off. But what ever. So I went in and ordered the microwave. The only reason I ordered through them was because they had the fastest delivery date. Well, I order it and they double charged me for it. That got resolved in the store. No big deal. So I waited the three weeks. No call in the morning like was promised. Got an email though stating it was postponed for another 3 weeks. Covids going around so no big deal. I understand. Flash forward 3 weeks same issue no call just an email postponed another 3 weeks. This time I called. I brought my concerns up. Well, apparently they didn’t have my phone number down correctly. I “thought” we corrected that issue on that call.... I waited yet again the 3 weeks because I needed this microwave. Guess what no call, just an email postponing the delivery YET again. I was fed up. I called in and wanted a return. I was told they couldn’t resolve the return over the phone because I paid with a card and I had to go in to the store to get a return on the card. I even got an email the next day. Stating to come in. So I went into the store about a week later and guess what? I was told they couldn’t do it due to the fact that they processed the return already and they decided to send a check instead with out my knowledge Absolute joke. 2 weeks since still nothing no return.

Lately they have been out of stock of items marked as available online. Has happened to me at a few branches so not reserved to this store. Not sure what is going on if its pandemic related or not, hopefully they get it sorted out. Always items that show just one or two at least

We had beyond exceptional customer service today from Duc during our appliance purchase. Duc was knowledgeable, patient, friendly and professional. Id highly recommend this Home Depot to my friends and family. Home Depot is very fortunate to have an employee like Duc representing their company name.

Im shocked by all the great reviews for customer service. I had the opposite experience today while shopping. I encountered a less than polite employee while inquiring about the location of their vegetables. I was in the garden section and the only sales clerk I could locate was standing outside the gate leading into the parking lot. I stepped out to ask where the vegetables were and her reply was this is an exit only. I explained that my family was inside (standing approx 25 feet away and visible inside the store). She continued to repeat that I would have to walk around and back to the entrance to get inside...insane. After a few seconds of futile conversation I walked away with a colorful exit because she had pushed me to the point of losing my temper (not something that I am proud of since I am an educated person with a better vocabulary and certainly better manners than that). Once back inside the store I asked for a manager to voice my aggravation...also falling on deaf ears. The manager, whos name was Rene allowed me to voice my frustration but his only response was rules are rules. I understand that these are unprecedented times, but my family was literally standing within talking distance with out having to raise my voice. All that was needed was a simple I understand your frustration, and Im sorry it was handled so poorly ...and I would have walked away a happy customer. As it stands Im planning on returning my $200+ purchase and once my blood pressure returns to normal I will make all future purchases at Menards or Lowes. Carol Stream Home Depot lost a long time customer today.

Copper pipe fittings are poorly organized and stocked (3/4). The brass pipe fittings are ridiculously expensive and good luck finding an associate to help you, although I discovered by accident if you drop a box of 90⁰ elbows on the concrete floor suddenly an Elmer appears to see whats up, lol.

Found what I needed.

What I needed was on a shelf that could not be reached without a ladder. The staff quickly got their ladder stairs and retrieved the item si I could get on my way. I have gone to the Carol Stream Home Depot for years and they rarely fail to provide great customer service.

I had a very disappointing experience with this location. We have been long time customer of the Carol stream location for many years and are very surprised by the lack of support we were given recently. We purchased flooring from them based on their recommendations. We then went to pick it up and had to unload each carton individually. Great exercise! When our contractor went to view it- he told us this pergo flooring will not work in the basement. It is the wrong material which surprised us since we spoke to a number of experts in their shop. The problem is that I asked them to come and pick up because I went in for hip surgery and my wife could not do on her own. They are extremely heavy and would be very unsafe and could cause her harm. Now we are stuck trying to come up with plan B. I reached to both the manager and others at a higher level to no avail. As I mentioned very disappointing. Bill R.

Stop and smell the lumber

Earlier this week one of their employees came to disconnect/remove my old dishwasher and replace it with a new one. He was late. Then he said he couldnt disconnect the water and gave up. I had to have an actual professional come out to do it. He had it disconnected in less than five minutes with two adjustable wrenches. The guy from Home Depot didnt even try. I think he was just looking for an excuse to cut a visit short because he was either lazy or behind schedule.ETA he also said the new unit wouldnt fit because of space. He lied. The unit is 33.5 high and I have 33 7/8 available. There was room IF he chose to do his job.ETA I found out this Home Depot outsources the delivery/installation so most of the blame goes there. The manager I spoke with, Rob, did what he could to make things right. Ill adjust the rating after the dishwasher is installed.ETA Their new delivery/installation company didnt call me when they said they would, but they did arrive early. The two employees did a very good job of installing the new dishwasher despite it being a tight fit. I ran it after they left and everything seems to be working. I cant give it 5 stars due to earlier problems. But this HDs new company seems to have their act together!

Return items. Fast. Easy. Everyone helped me with location of items. Keys made too. Was able to pickup 7 items in 15 minutes. The staff made sure I had the right product for the job. I really like their staff.

We had gone to several lighting stores, but only Home Depot had the lightbulbs we needed for our new pendants and chandelier.

Arrived at the store at 0630 to minimize the number of people shopping. Immediately passed an employee who had her mask hanging from her neck. When I asked, are you supposed to be wearing a mask?, she put it on and continued to walk but turned around and said, but its hot!I replied, that does not matter. I saw one vendor and two other employees with no masks on and reported it to the manager who asked if I had names. I told him it should not take too long to find several without masks. ADJUST TO THE NEW NORMAL AND COMPLY--OR LOSE CUSTOMERS WHO WILL GO ELSEWHERE!!

Got the sweet Basil plants I was looking for. But was trying to get help buying a riding lawn mower and the guy we spoke with was not helpful at all, he sent us out in front of the store to look at the one we were inquiring about and when we got out there they didnt have that one on display like he said and no one out there to help us, they lost a good sale, we will go elsewhere.

I spent some time today shopping in the paint department at this Home Depot. The entire 20 minutes that I was in the paint department, a young male employee that worked in that department was constantly complaining out loud about problems from his personal life. Having to constantly listen to an employees personal problems was a big turn off to me as a customer, so I eventually decided to leave without purchasing anything, and I drove over to Ace Hardware to purchase my items.

Every time I have gone here the employees are friendly and helpful when looking for a specific item. I go often cause it seems like I always have a project that needs to be done.

Out of what I needed (about $4) I had to buy $20 to do what I needed. They blamed it on COVID-19.LOL

Love the 5$ prayer plant... score on my wish list. Goto for all DIYs.

Cris was very helpful at the returns counter! She was very patient and nice and handled all of my returns accurately and in a timely fashion. Not only that by her entire team came to support her by taking other customers that were waiting in line for help behind me since my returns took a long time. This is a sign of good management!
