I was looking for an obscure part for a job and the employee didnt just help me look, but helped me find an alternative way to complete the work after it was discovered that the part was backordered.When you buy at Menards, you typically know what youre getting- its a couple steps above harbor freight. Things are cheap, but usually deservedly so. This location separates itself from the others by having fantastic customer service.

Its my preferred store. However, I was disappointed today. They sell handheld power sanders but they dont sell the replacement sanding sheets. Bummer 🤦‍♀️

I truly like to shop here.. however.. they havent had the dog treats my puppies like in a few months.. needed help with some window blinds no one was around.. and when someone showed uo..he was a young kid..friendly but he didnt know anything about them...

My favorite hardware store. They have more stock and greater variety than the other big box hardware stores. I also dont feel like Im in a dolly lit warehouse waiting for things to fall on me. Helpful sales reps.

First I’d like to say this review is less about the store and more about corporate. I bought Ultradeck for our deck from this store. Within days the composite decking started getting bubbles. Not just the installed boards, but also extra boards which were never installed. I took one of the boards to the store and let their Building Materials Manager look at it. They said it’s an obvious manufacturer error and gave me a, “Install Guest Complaint Form” and actually showed me how to fill it out. They even printed a copy of the order and told me it needed to be attached to the form when it’s mailed in. They were really helpful. Then the problems began. I have heard no response for weeks. I called the store back and they gave me a corporate guest services phone number. It’s only a recording telling you to mail in the form and try getting a hold of the manufacturer. That’s a joke. The company who makes Ultradeck is owned by Menards. I guess I’m going to call my credit card company and file a disputed.

Tonight, John - the acting manager on duty basically accused me of lying to him by not issuing a store credit on 2 six panel doors I had bought there in the past few months. After living within 2 miles of this place for 17 plus years, I will never return. There are plenty of other options up and down Randall road that appreciate my business. Thanks a lot Menards... Save Big Money but be treated like trash.

Rob in plumbing was excellent at helping me find the well tank and fittings I needed. I never knew a tank T differs from the normal street T in that you can disconnect the tank using a threaded nut in the middle. Now I know. He made sure the tank was brought to the front for me, even going so far as to bring it to the line for me when the girl at check out didn’t know where to look. Thanks Rob!

Like usually, I found a beautiful ornament lights for my yard at a very good price, (stopped before at Home Depot, n everything so expensive?) Menard s like my home, I bought it every thing n my favorite n cheap Store, MENARD..its worth it !!!!

They had an excellent selection, we were looking for vinyl wood planks. Better pricing and availability than Home Depot, but also could improve their quality of help. The employee didn’t know much about leveling floors.

Went to Menards in Carpentersville, IL and had terrible customer service. Even talked to the General Manager Johnny Diaz and he was rude and not helpful. Will never go back to that store, and will second guess my Menards trips in general to consider The Home Depot more

Nicely maintained and stocked Carpentersville, IL store, very similar layout to my regular store in MI. They had the online stock of Klearvue we needed ASAP and then when we needed more the day of pickup, I had the good fortune to speak with Tarek in Cabinets, and he set me up right away, friendly and smart. Diego helped me load my trailer safely and expeditiously, with a couple key ideas to reduce the heavy lifting. Great to deal with two smart guys who take what they do seriously, have a can-do attitude, and make one feel welcome.

Went to the Carpentersville, IL Menards store and will never go back. Worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. To make matters worse it was the General Manager who was terrible so I don’t expect it to be fixed any time soon. Just talked down to me and was not helpful at all. Unacceptable

I understand it was the end of the day no one on the line at the Cartier, I alrready paid for my merchandise, then Rachel, the Cashier, ask me in a rushing, shoving way is there something wrong? (I was wondering why she did not ask, instead, is everything ok?). I just said. Just reviewing my receipt., In my mind I was just trying to figure out how in the world I spent 100 dlls 😂.

The only reason I’m giving this place a 5 stars is because Conner Crawford was such a helpful human being.

The lid was not secured back on the paint can and spilled in my trunk on the way home. Went back and got a new can of paint but their insurance never did contact me as promised. 2 stars since they matched the paint very well. I will never go to this Menards ever again.

I like that menards has almost anything and everything youd be looking for, its just seems when you need help. You have to go find someone. But their knowledgeably makes up for having to go find them. So I think its a damn good place when you are a homeowner and you want to do something and need product can helpon how to accomplish it.

Was in Menards in Carpentersville this weekend and had the pleasure of working with RON PAULEY from the plumbing department. So knowledgable and helpful in getting our orders placed and very patient. It is experiences like that which is why I always tell people I prefer Menards.

Found everything I needed and a few extras. Staff is always nice here. I love it when they have the 11% rebate to. Prices are pretty standard compared to other similar stores. Only downside is they dont have an installation team for appliances you have to use a contractor or do it yourself unlike the other big box stores.

Went to find Xmas candles. Jack, a newer employee made the perfect choice to call his manager in order to find a specific sku that had been moved 4 times. Ramon came over and said here they are we just moved them. Thank you Jack for not leading me on wild goose chase and Ramon for knowing your store very well.

Went in today to purchase a patio table. Walked in with my boyfriend and our two kids. Myself and our kids had masks on (being compliant), but my boyfriend has asthma and allergies which prevent him from breathing right and has a medical exemption. He is always respectful maintaining social distance to protect anyone that it might scare. Upon walking in, there were two young girls at the desk yelling Sir, Sir, Sir! I finally stopped him realizing it was directed towards my boyfriend. When he explained why he wasn’t wearing one they were extremely rude. I understand this is a crazy time, but I’m sorry, you’re approach was awful. We won’t shop here anymore. I heard Menards was being disrespectful to customers but I like to support everyone until I have a reason not to. Here is my reason.

Menards is Menards. Clean and well stocked. I rate these stores in this order: Home Depot, Menards, and Lowes as in good, better, best and taking price out of the equation.

Got all my garden needs and even bird seed, iam thinking the birds will lunch on the bird seed and not my new grass seed.

Always a large selection of items. Easy to find merchandise and the 11 percent off is great when you get more expensive materials.

Bare to the bones this time. Usually ver well stocked. Black Friday weekend and we went on Sunday afternoon.

This location is great, customer service is definitely their strong suit. Ive never had any issues getting assistance or recommendations on products for various applications. Employees dont vanish when asked for help and will return with another staff member if they leave to ask someone else something they are unsure of.

This place has just about anything you could want. My problem is finding stuff. Wouldnt it be great if you could type an item into a kiosk and it would tell you which aisle you could find it in?!

They usually have everything I need for my home. Prices are usually reasonable, ever so often I find a great deal. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

In general Menards is pretty good. However today i needed to use the outdoor lumber yard. They have such an awful system. I had to hoof it out to the pressure treated wood, make my selections, then i have to go back into the store and go to the opposite end of the store to have a ticket written up. Then i had to go to the front of the store to pay. Then i have to go get my car, drive it into the yard, load up, then show my ticket to the guard, then drive out. Its an awful, time consuming system!

They never have enough checkout people, especially for a Saturday at noon and the ace is super busy, then you wait for 10 min in line for one guy with items that dont have any tag on them.

The ongoing 11% rebate program is not working correctly. On several occasions Ive mailed 2 or more rebate submissions in a single envelope; either receiving a partial rebate not matching any of what I sent in, or receiving nothing at all. Ive been in contact with the rebate center - not surprisingly they blame it on COVID-19?I wish Menards would just put more items on sale - this 11% fiasco is a sham.

Their parking was easy. Went here to buy some tools for my home renovation. Complete sets of building stuffs and some appliances were available too. Very handy and a convenient place to go.

The lumber yard gate employees are worthless other than Anna, she was wonderful. They will direct you into the lumbar yard and act like you know where your going. When you get inside the lumbar yard the workers are so helpful!

The young kids they have working there dont go an extra inch to help you find something, the selections were few...I will stay @ my Menards in West Chicago from now on - the Carpentersville employees can learn a lot from my location!

LOVE MENARDS! Its my favorite hardware store actually. Usually has exactly what I need. It will usually be my first stop, second will be Home Depot. This location is always clean. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Well stocked, easy parking. Its not the closest hardware store, but its the one I prefer.

I usually find what I need here. Their rebate program is very good and usually pretty generous. They have rebates on a lot of items and its very organized. They have all the rebate slips at the front desk area. The only bad thing is that your rebates are in the form of a store credit and you cant apply for them electronically, you have to mail them in.

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Went in today to purchase some paint and Ron from painting was super helpful. He was able to answer all of our questions and give us advice on how to do our project.

I always shop here, but lately the sales person their are very very bad and quality of menards is going down the drain because of that. I wanted to enquire for a railing and the lady their showed no interest thinking I wont buy, so after asking her just 2 questions, I placed my special order with her restricting myself from asking any more questions. Now, I have been enquiring for 2 weeks after the estimated delivery date(for pickup) to check my order for the second time. They asked to wait on phone for about 2 minutes, it took 5 minutes, then the person tells it is in Plano Distribution Center. They cant even provide a simple reason why it is late or when tentatively it would be available or if I would be informed upon arrival. They act like as if it is not their problem, better they learn to acknowledge properly and respond to the customer. I asked a tentative date for pickup, and the person deliberately hangs up. I dont have any information on when it would be available at this time for me to pick up. There is trouble getting the status of the order for me to pickup, which I already had placed with much trouble. Hating to talk to the guys there. Better to go get the item and move out. Very rude staffs in the making. I am a regular customer and shop once a week mostly there since I like their products, but no more like the sales people there. Quality of their service is going down the drain. At the most, expect them to answer which product is in which aisle, anything more they will be upset.There are also other tactics some of their workers do, when in yard and looking for help, they try to abscond and not be there, leaving us to load things ourselves. Good job folks there. Specifically in the yard entrance, if I ask for someone prior to come and help, he would always show up after I had finished loading the stuff in the yard myself. If I keep waiting for someone to come and load, then he will show up after 15 mins. I have observed this few times when looking for help loading, they go to the south if you are going north.Very very poor customer service.

Found everything I was looking for and relatively quickly as it is laid out the same as the Menards near me. One checker in the garden center on a busy Sunday makes for long slow lines. Dragging 7 bags of garden soil through the regular part of the store is not an option. Saw a lot of small customers having to pick up heavy things themselves and I helped a few myself, but didnt see employees ready to step in. Other than that, very clean and organized store with appropriate parking.
