Just OK. Very clunky system. Push the call button, it calls Texas, Texas calls you, you have to press 1 to have Texas connect you with your gate, then AFTER it connects you get to press 9 to open the gate, when it wants to. Most annoying woman with British accent announces Access Granted when you key in your code. No way to silence her. She gets VERY old fast.On the plus side, Tech support is very helpful and apologetic about the system, but have found an answer for any of the other glitches I have had.Lots of different features that I dont use, but I can see where someone would appreciate the flexibility. It is just a waste for a residential application.
System works great. We love the fact that we can manage the system with our cell phones.
So far we have been experiencing major problems getting our gate to work reliably. Seems like everyone points fingers at others vendor for responsibility. Its taking way more of my time to coordinate and mediate that I had imagined. Somedays I just want to leave the gate open and forget about the security of closing.
First and foremost I would like to say that the team and personnel at cell gate do not get enough credit for the great product they provide. I have been installing these devices for over 5 years and installed/worked on just about every model they have released. Just like any piece of technology it has tweaks that need to be made from time to time, updates to improve functions, and in the event cellular connection isn’t great solutions can be accomplished(which is out of their control.) I would like to say with confidence that if you’re having trouble with the system it’s either been installed incorrectly or user error. Pre screening the area for installation wireless connections to cell towers and adequate wiring is necessary. I will continue to support and install this product for years to come. Thank you cell gate for providing such an excellent solution.

I’ve been a customer for over two years now with two gates at our farm. The system is great… when it is working.Tech supports does not respond timely to end users.Most diagnoses come back to “cell signal issues” which is silly since both our gates work from the same tower / signal and only one gate tends to be problematic at a time. We’ve spent several thousand in service calls, a replacement key pad (out of warranty), new trigger sensors and such.The IOS App is very basic and poorly designed (requires multiple screens just to open the gate momentarily). Routing of calls from the intercom works intermittently.If I had not already made the investment in hardware, I would abandon the system.And yes, as of tonight, one of our gates is inop again.
Honestly, don’t even bother with this company. I have installed 3-4 of their units as a technician. The units are non stop problematic with connecting to network even with full bars of signal and well over their speed requirements. Tech support is “non” existent. They make you wait on hold for a generic answering service. Then if you call and state you are on site at unit you will be on hold EASY 40 minutes plus. When you have to call multiple times over same issues you will spend half of a day on hold going back and fourth on a problematic system. Literally on hold as we speak. 45 minutes plus. Getting this pad up and going (fingers crossed) and never installing another cell gate again. What a mistake.
So this has probably been one of the worst companies I have ever purchased from. I am going on 3 weeks without my Watchmen working and I still can’t get them to get me the parts for the opener. The best part is that it’s a manufacturing issue, but I’m paying the price. After a week of me trying to get the parts shipped and repeatedly offering to just pay for the parts they fine decided to ship the parts, but not to me, or the distributor that I purchased from, but the regional distributor that won’t deal with me directly. So I just have to wait, while they decide what to do next. I should mention the reason this has been such a issue is because none of the distributors wanted to install the Watchmen for me because I was too far for them!!! Hello, that’s why I’m using cell gate and not connecting it to a land data connection.
Scarlett, went above and beyond to help us get up and running on a new install. We had a large load of new residents with toll tags and I cannot thank her enough for going the extra mile!!!! She is outstanding!!!!

Terrible customer service. Our gate has not worked for 3+ days and you cannot get in touch with anyone. Called at 9:00am on Friday and the recording stated it was after normal business hours and went on to say normal business hours were Mon-Fri 8-5...When you do get in touch with them you are on hold for 25+ min waiting for tech support. Product has never worked properly, the voice clarity is so poor on the device that we dont even use that feature anymore.
Very disappointed with this product. Customer service is awful as well. My gate is not reading the commands for the second time in 10 days, they are closed on the weekends so I can’t get anything off my lot until Monday. I will have to pay a gate company an emergency call to get my gate open today ( Saturday ). Very bad investment, keep shopping for something else.

Had gate operating system installed 3 months. Every few days to two weeks system fails to follow open-close program schedule, requiring one to four calls to tech support to get resolved. Frequently the app shows gate closed when it is open or other malfunction, again requiring call to tech support which may or may not be returned. This weekend the camera apparently lost contact or quit working while Im out of town, leading to another call to tech support. Im in contact with my attorney to seek full refund for the entire control system so i can purchase another brand. My advice: DO NOT RELY ON CELLGATE FOR CRITICAL SECURITY APPLICATIONS!!
Product is great, but service and general management of the business is horrid. Emails bounce back, departments according to voice mail are closed early in the day, employees dont know how to use phone system, and no employee (customer service, tech support, billing) takes responsibility for customer satisfaction. I started with a billing error on CellGates part (I have two gates and they quoted pricing and billed me for one. Months later they sent me a disconnect notice for non-payment. After attempting to email them for an explanation and getting a bounce back to the email address on the notice, I called and couldnt get through to anyone. Finally, a few days later, I reached someone who explained that this was their mistake but that I needed to pay the bill, which I did. A week after my check cleared the bank, they turned BOTH gates off for non-payment with no notice to me. Once I figured out that this was why the system stopped working, I called and have been passed around three departments for the past 90 minutes, and now having been passed back to billing for the 3rd time, accounting is closed once again.If you are considering CellGate for your home or business, I would strongly encourage you to find another solution.
The unit would only work remotely less than half of the time We had the optional directional booster antenna and even with that, service was spotty at best. We could be standing right next to it observing full signal strength on our phones while at the same time not being able to connect to the controller. To make things worse, the internal modems failed twice in under two years of operation. The first time it failed, they sent a replacement under warranty via our installer after we threatened to cancel. When the replacement modem failed, they said it was out of warranty and wanted over a thousand dollars to replace it. I would always be put on eternal hold when trying to call support and would eventually have to call pretending to be an installer in order to reach someone.
Poor customer service. They do not respond to requests for help/service.
Installed two units within the first 4 months both units needed new speakers. 5 months in the touch screen was replaced. On hold for tech support is over an hour every time you call even when calling as a dealer onsite. Not sure how many installers can sit onsite and wait for tech support for an hour just to answer the phone. Too many glitches when the units are working.
Technical support went out of their way to help my signal issues with my system. Not only was Bryan (I believe) patient with me, he also was very clear with his instructions and helped me get my system workingGreat company with great people!! 👍🏼
Cellgate is one of the very few that I can say are top notch. From sales, tech to shipping there support never stops. This is by far one of the best products and company that I have worked with. Keep up the good work.
Was on site with the installer when my system was getting installed and the tech was very professional and informative. Customer support also explained the portal and process very thoroughly. Definitely recommend
Really like how I can see whos at my gate. Only complaints are that it glitches out quite a bit (when saying access granted it says it partially over and over again) and also randomly wouldnt work at all for a bit. But overall I like it a lot and helps me feel safe! As far as the app there are a couple things I would add/change: 1-full access to the internet site on the app to add users and edit settings. 2-have the app be better at popping up the prompt when someone rings the gate (most times it just forwards to calling my phone) 3- if it could integrate into smart security apps like ring or alexa that would be really cool
I have had Cellgate systems for about 10 years. Their systems are great in theory. The problem is that they only work right about 80% of the time. Now that the company has grown, Their servers and other equipment are constantly overloaded which causes slow or nonexistent response times. When they do upgrades ( often) there are glitches that take days or weeks to correct. When the system is down you cannot get anyone in customer service to help or update on status. For a homeowner system no big deal but for a storage faculty like mine it has become a real problem. There are now many other systems out there with better operating designs at lower cost. By the way, I have been on hold for 30 minutes waiting to talk with tech support trying to find out when they are going to solve an issue that has been pending for 2 weeks now while writing this review! Bye, Bye Cellgate. ....... Just an update: They have done quite a lot to redeem themselves. Still with them and things are working ok now. Time will tell.
The servers hardly EVER go down, technical support ALWAYS returns my calls, IF they miss your call someone in customer support or the receptionist Cathy almost ALWAYS answers the phones, and service is EVERYWHERE Verizon and AT&T is.Dont read all of the negative bs you hear online because most people, just enjoy spreading it because they cant admit when THEY have screwed up.FYI... Im a retired installer who worked closely with CellGate and I cant stand to read this garbage after knowing what I know.
The technical support team is super nice and helpful.!! i was really confused with the web portal at first but after the team assisted me, it was easy pease.. Happy customer here :))

So disappointed. Dont know what happened but customer service has gone away. We have 9 different gates. Impossible to get any service. Servers also constantly going down. We are searching for a better option. Do not waste your money!!!

Is there a way to give a negative star review? All of these complaints about not answering the phone, servers being down, ect and they do nothing. I am a dealer and cant get through.I am getting sick of all the empty hope that it will be fixed. If the company cant hire the needed help, than they should go under. I would rather see them get after it and get the needed fixes taken care of but I dont see any effort.They could be a growing thriving company but instead chose to save the money by not hiring enough of the right people, or cellgate has pathetic management that dont know how to fix the issues.I will be looking for another controller to stand behind.

Purchased the Cell Gate Watcman EVO 450 in August 2019. Unit never worked properly and calls and request for help were challenging at best (left on hold for very long periods of time and most voice messages never returned).In summer of 2021 unit stopped working completely; sent to Dallas as requested and box was returned two months later with note saying the unit can not be fixed and would need to be replaced at my expense. Explained it never worked properly from begining (they have a history log) and got no response other than no response.Have two other gate openers from different manufacturers that work perfectly.Customer service is horrible and product is useless
