Its an older store so the design isnt up to date. There isnt a lot of room in the front of the register area and there arent that many registers but there is self checkout which is good. All the same departments as any other Shoprite. The store is situated in a shopping area across from a Burger King. It doesnt get too busy. Friendly staff.

Disappointed in bakery dept. Didnt have bread I wanted or other items. Meat dept helpful. One of the butchers went in back to get fresh meat I wanted..thank you. Otherwise not busy. Deli person took so long slicing and put 3-4 pieces of paper on each product.

You can find everythi g grocery comes in your mind. And the fresh fruits and the veggies are super clean.

It was ok. The bathroom didnt have a vent so after a shower the mirror was sweaty and it was hot. No breakfast!!! Check out time is 11 not 12 like the website says. Otherwise it wasnt bad.

Its ok, not great with prices . You have to wait for deals/sales just save money. They should always have it in way that customers are always buying. Kind of like what Walmart does. You know the food is already affordable so you go there rather than shoprite. If its a couple of things then go for it but if its a long list and you need to restock your pantry; stick with Walmart. Their bakery is good, wide selection of desserts, muffins, cakes and cupcakes especially if your thinking of doing a birthday cake. Donuts are a hit n miss, its ok not like DD but still if ya gota hankering then it will do the job. I dont like the fact their doing more machine check out than human cashiers. This isnt helping people in getting jobs but instead their losing jobs...this is only helping corporation put more money in their vacations/holidays/bonuses.

Been a customer for 7 years since I moved in to Carteret. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Store is neat and well maintained. Keep it up guys!

Remember the last job get the best player p he has a great time but jamillah has a problem with his hands on the way you get my own life but I guess your sign oh I think back then it would have been having problems in my marriage and I will have a good night for me but it changes the game and the food smell of your life is the most search for the company for now but I dont agree but I guess your point was a good night and it was the same way I AM parked right now and then you know that someone will be the one you hang on for the weekend and I was giving him the right amount to make it on your call it is what its best to do it to.

Bought 4 Nivea lotions on sale 4 for $7.89I was charged $6.59 for each lotion.When I brought the lotions and the receipt back to Shoprite in Carteret, Mat Marciano (manager) refused to honor the sale price and said they are not accepting any returns. So I was left with the overpriced lotions.

I know times are tough but it really seems like they dont stock everything like they used to and the prices have gone up too far. If they werent in my own town, Id be going to woodbridge

I can only shop on Saturday afternoons. Thats my life. On Saturday afternoons all the coupon items are sold out. All the sale items are sold out. The meat case has got little more than chicken feet and beef marrow bones and the produce section is down to $7 quartered watermelons and $8 bags of baby potatoes. The store is off the hook because theyre not giving rain checks because of Covid. They are not taking returns because of Covid. They do not guarantee their scanners. Sections of the store still have empty shelves. This store was convenient because of the pharmacy but theyve closed that down. The Shop Rite in Carteret is little more than a glorified Quik Chek now.

Clean, quick in and out even on superbowl Sunday! Love it.

I dont know why many if this Shoprites items are priced higher than surrounding Shoprites. E.G. shoprite brand whole milk is $4.29 in carteret, but is $3.49-$3.69 at Shoprites in perth amboy, woodbridge, linden & parlin. This is just 1 example. Also, while many other shoprites are fully stocked with pandemic-related items, carteret is not stocking them.

Always a good selection of groceries available. Can usually go in and walk out with items not on my grocery list or pre-planned on purchasing because of the sales they have.

Brian Dunn, the store’s “manager” is an A-HOLE! Very unprofessional & disrespectful. Other than that, they had most products I purchase in stock but the store can be re-organized a little better. Also, they’re produce isn’t the best, majority of the stuff are expired & NOT fresh. I prefer to go to Trader Joe’s or Wegmans for better produce & friendly customer service unlike this shop rite.

This shoprite has been a blessing for me since I moved to Carteret last October. It’s small but is always stocked especially during these pandemic times. Close by and convenient.

Id have given 5 stars if theyd let shopping carts go over to side parking lot by dollar store. Store is reasonably sized, not with mile-long aisles. They carry a decent variety of goods. Usually easy in & out, except Saturday (expected with all grocerystores.) Checkers are friendly. Parking spaces could be a little bigger for SUVs. But theyve got the 3% taxes - I make it work

Other than Janice the best cashier in this place, this Shoprite does not carry products that other Shoprite carry.

The managers and staff here are just awesome. Recently renovated and looks great. Check out the hot food bar for some great food in a pinch and at a good price.

The registers are not wiped before the next customer puts their products on the conveyor belt and I notice the ice is slammed onto the floor in order to crush it! Three stars of disappointment!

What an awesome place and the service was great as well. I love the place and the product has a massive selections on it. They have a lot of varieties of great foods, fruits and veggies.

Friendly help, short lines and quick service at the deli and checkout lines. I like this store much better than my local (Staten Island) overcrowded and understaffed stores that were never built for the volume they serve.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!UPDATE: Over a week later they still haven’t refunded the money for the “Delivery fee,” broken candles that the driver threw onto the floor and the rotten meats, salsa, and produce.I have for years ordered from Shoprite delivery (extra fee for door delivery) from home in their Somerset, NJ location. I have been ordering Shoprite from home delivery a handful of times since moving to Carteret, NJ with no issues until yesterday. Shoprite Carteret’s delivery person refused to deliver my groceries to my door. He threatened to leave them on the curb because he did not want to walk up the stairs. Thankfully my husband was home. Delivery person emptied items onto the curb and sat and watched as my husband walked the items up the stairs. He was not only taunting him while doing it he also made it known that he didn’t care about the money he wasn’t going to do it! When you pay for delivery service they are to deliver the food to your front door.I will be ordering for delivery from either a different Shoprite, a STOP AND SHOP and/or FRESH DIRECT. I’ve ordered from these two from the past and have never had the rude service I experienced here. On the contrary, they know how to treat their customers.CONSUMER BEWARE!!!

Good place to get all groceries. Good selection of vegetables, also has good selection of meat, bread fish and deli. Overall, could get little bit of everything. Well organized, neat and clean place to shop. Observed that price of many seasonal fruits are much cheaper compared to other ShopRite

This is my neighborly every week food shopping supermarket. I find to really like this supermarket. The parking lot size is pretty dicent, everything is always clean organized, never really to crowded, there cashiers are fast and friendly. And everything is fresh the bakery gives out free cookies as well 😁

Nice and clean supermarket. The remodeling has given this supermarket a beautiful touch.I have to say although I didnt find anyone on floor to ask anything it was easy to navigate through.Theresa at register was prompt and nice... till she started arguing with either a coworker or a mgr about not being call to register to cover a break.... I didnt like the argument I felt like running and leaving everything behind.... I will go back, it is a very nice supermarket!

I honestly shop here because it is the closest supermarket to my house but I am planing to start shopping somewhere else. Several times my wife and I have noticed the products they have on the shelves are either expired or about to expire. We have informed the manager multiple times but it seems this person doesnt really care about it as this is a consistent issue. On the other hand, the aisles dont look shiny or waxed, I like the fact that its a nearby supermarket but I have had better shopping experiences in other places and shop rites. The one in Carteret has a lot of things to improve.

Too much time spent looking for fresh produce. Be careful...as long as the date is not expired the food will still be out for sale; blemished, soft or whatever.

Worst shoprite ever.. the store is so unorganized. The managers are rude and so are the supervisor. I got yelled at because my card doesn’t swipe and every shop rite always puts it in manually but this place got upset and told me they never have done it and they won’t so I just left everything there.

This is my ShopRite right in Fire Red where I live they have everything I always need they could use a little more help in the front end by the registers but on a whole the store is clean I would love to see them expand a little bit so that they could make it a little bit easier to get up and down the aisles but they are renovating now and adding new things all the time and its a great Shopping Center

I have shopped here more recently because it is convenient but I am not sure if I will be returning. Store general manger was demeaning, rude, sarcastic, and condescending to say the least. I asked for clarification about an item with an erroneous price tag. He said that it was whatever the register scanned although the actual tag was not there and a tag with a lower price was posted. He continued to ask me what did I want him to do or was it that I wanted the items for free? His tone and body language were humiliating and demeaning. I surely was not looking to get over and especially expecting anything for free! I was so upset that I called the Corporate Office and filed a complaint. The owner called me several hours later to apologize for his employees behavior. Excellent customer service goes a long way! My experience today deserves no stars but the owner made it up so I will give it 3 stars.

From upper management down to the lower level employees, this ShopRite location knows absolutely nothing about customer service. I spoke with a cashier, customer service, an assistant manager and a higher up manager and they all sound so dead inside and unenthusiastic. Friendly is probably a term these workers are unfamiliar with. I would skip this ShopRite and go to a place that little a little more customer service oriented.

Love this shoprite. Its almost never crowded and they have great stock. Their Deli is AWESOME.
