I emailed to ask if I could possibly have a different icing color as this was a fav color and Jason was so kind to oblige and sent me a picture of the icing waiting for me. I am new to the area so was very grateful for the recommendation and cannot wait to come back to try some scoops! If wondering, the cake got rave reviews, thank you again!

FRESH. Local Ice Cream and the Pimento Cheese Festival: a horror story.My husband, a friend, and I have been to FRESH the last two nights to enjoy the weather and some dessert. Having heard they were participating in the Pimento Cheese Festival, we were all incredibly curious what they might have to offer.Im always down for a little adventure, so, after ordering the 2 scoop waffle cone with coconut almond crunch, I asked the person at the counter if they had the topping, and she, without batting an eye, said, Absolutely. I said, Can I get that on there?Sure.Im not sure if I missed any cues--a dead-eyed stare, a lift in the pitch of her voice, or even a turn back now glance at the menu--but, as far as I could tell, she maintained the air that this was completely normal.Folks, I do NOT know what I was expecting, but it surely was not a scoop of shredded pimento cheese salad plopped on top of my ice cream.But, look, like I said, Im adventurous. I took a bite of cheese, and my whole brain felt like it turned inside out. It screamed that this was not an ice cream topping, but I choked it down and scraped the entire mess into the bowl I asked for.I am absolutely not docking any stars for this. FRESH Is easily the best ice cream Ive had in my entire life, and their waffle cones are to die for. I got exactly what I asked for, and we laughed our butts off all the way home. Im only providing for the public a cautionary tale:Pimento cheese does not go on ice cream.

The ice cream was great and I love being able to try out local flavors. This went doubly so for the cheer wine ice cream I paired with vanilla. The cheer wine ice cream melted rapidly but the folks behind the register warned me beforehand which was much appreciated. The cheer wine flavor was certainly unique and while it wasnt my favorite, I enjoyed it. The vanilla was good but also its just vanilla so its pretty hard to mess up.

The ice cream flavors here are wonderful and they give you a TON! The 2 scoop waffle cone was basically a pint. They’re also super considerate if you have allergies! Not to mention everyone who works here is so nice, and it’s a close walk to Bond Brothers and plenty of other restaurants in the area. A gazillion stars out of 5!

Amazing flavours. Great service. Highly recommend others to check out this place. I have been there 4 times in last couple of months, it was full of customers- which clearly tells how amazing they are.

Poor hygiene practices while I waited the employees did not wear gloves or wash there hands and constantly touched their face, hair, and clothes. Even going so far as wiping their hands on their clothes between scooping. The service is also extremely slow, at first I thought the line out the door was due to them being so good but once you’re inside you can see that it’s just poor training. The process was not stream lined and in the time I spent in the line I saw them mess up 3 orders not including my own which was also poorly made/incorrect. The ice cream flavor variety is good but it is definitely not worth the bad experience you may likely have. If I had to guess why they are successful despite this it would be that they are the only dessert option in a high traffic area. All around very disappointing would warn against going.

Came here with my boyfriends family and it was great, they only have one vegan ice cream flavour though (lemon sorbet). I was warned that it was watery so you have to get it in a cup, but it was pretty good anyway. Kind of like eating lemonade. Id probably give it a 7/10

Love at first bite.This place offers such a nice variety of ice cream flavors that they keep on rotation to keep you coming back for more! I mean, who thought of honey and sea salt? Genious.The ice cream was light and packed a flavorful punch, you definitely arent left looking for the flavors they pack on there. They have everyday flavors as well as seasonal which is wonderful because you can still use a plain ice cream every once in a while. Cant go wrong with the classics.Overall, wonderful little ice cream shop! Yall definitely have ice cream down to an art.

Great service and a lot of delicious ice cream flavors. Just be mindful that the portions are large and that if you eat it outside, you need to eat quickly so it doesnt melt. Love that its a local business too!

I am so grateful that the lactose-free options at FRESH are always yummy. A lot of times I get left out of the ice cream fun when Im out with friends, but this place never disappoints. Stopped for a medium cup of strawberry cheesecake ice cream in the middle of a long bike ride. Yuuuuuum! Nothing better. Bit expensive, but hey, its great, its real, and its local! Get some!

I have been here over a handful of times and it has been just as good as the last. Not only is their ice cream great but theres a lot of options to choose from. Each time Im there, the workers are very friendly and I have my ice cream within a minute or two. It has outdoor seating too but is within walking distance of many locations around Cary. I would highly recommend!

Delicious ice cream! We had birthday cake, white chocolate raspberry, peanut butter & M&Ms, and Carolina crunch (Heath and Butterfingers). Its so good. When you get sprinkles they dip the whole thing in!

Staff is fast and patient with my kids who have no idea how to anticipate what theyd like to get. Ice cream is excellent.

We really like Fresh. Service is good. The layout leaves the open door for improvement especially for families with strollers and the patrons around them. People who like variety may hope for more if they are going to be repeat customers. I stick to a few classics like cookies and cream for the most part and so this local shop is a go-to for us when in downtown Cary.

Their butter peacan ice cream was a hit. Ive had their other flavors before. This place is quite popular. Lots of seats outside to enjoy the sun.

UPDATE: I went back for some more ice cream and learned that the creepy Gary guy has been banned! Yay! I understand he still shows up to the shop and employees have to call police to make him leave, so ladies be wary of this stalker-like man because he still hangs in the area. But dont let that stop you from getting some amazing ice cream from some great people! Appreciate how quickly the owners and staff addressed my concerns. And a business like this deserves all our support! I highly recommend all their chocolate flavors for my fellow chocolate addicts.The ice cream was amazing! And the staff was professional and friendly. It would be a five star rating except theres some man (I think he introduced himself as Gary) that always seems to be lurking around when I go who isnt an employee but keeps trying to start conversations with all the customers even though no one wants to talk to him. I dont know if he is trying to sell something or what but hes persistent and tried multiple times to talk to my boyfriend and I while we ate on the sidewalk. He only stopped when we literally turned our backs on him and walked away. It was very uncomfortable and I watched him follow a group of customers away after the shop closed. While I was eating my ice cream I heard some of the staff talking about how he keeps showing up and trying to ask one of the girls out even though shes rejects him every time. She looks like shes 16 or 17 and hes definitely over 40. I would go there more often but I afraid of running into this guy because he creeps me out. I know owners can only do so much but it doesnt appear like hes been banned from the store despite harassing staff and customers (or maybe he has but shows up anyway). I have never been to the store and not seen him there - and maybe Im unlucky but seriously he seems to always be there in the evening. If it wasnt for that Gary guy this would be my top ice cream spot in the Raleigh area.

This little place is great! Its a little pricey, but thats to be expected in a local place. Plus, the quality matched the price. There is customer parking in the back that you can get to via a little road between the theater and the end of their building which also houses a jewelry shop. Right now, they are taking orders via a window and setting your order on a table that blocks the doorway, so no one can get in. Definitely recommend!!

The ice cream is excellent!!! You cant find flavor like this anywhere else in Cary. However, finding a parking spot is challenging, the lines can be long (worth it in my opinion) and seating is almost nonexistent.

MISLEADING. They do NOT have dairy free options. They just use lactose free milk and market it as dairy free. It’s plain wrong. They should go out of their way to make sure you are aware it still has dairy, instead you see them answering reviews like “ I’m so glad you love our dairy free options” and on the website they bold things like almond milk, which is typically dairy free. They do say it’s not dairy free but it’s at the very bottom of the website and in small print. Almond Milk is nice and bolded and large lettered. Seems purposely done to me. People like my wife who are anaphylactic to it could literally die if she had this. So wrong and makes me so angry. I’m all for local, etc., but it’s greedy as hell to do this. You would not tell a peanut allergic person something is nut free why is ok to do that to someone with a dairy allergy??

Quaint ice cream shop in downtown Cary. All of the flavors are made in house, and they offer a vegan selection as well as a fat-free selection. This shop is known for the Carolina Crunch flavor. My personal favorite is the banana pudding flavor. During non-pandemic times, they keep the samples flowing, so go try them all! We typically opt for a child size, which comes with free sprinkles and offers a generous scoop of fresh local ice cream for ~$3.50.Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the shop is currently offering a limited menu- and no samples are available, as well as no cones. However, the flavors on the menu are not limited. The staff are all wearing masks and gloves and are separated at the window with plastic. No patrons are allowed inside at the present time. While the lack of access to bathrooms isnt ideal, I appreciate the efforts taken to slow the spread to keep NC open and healthy!

Ok so the ice cream here is descent but the prices make no sense to me I asked for a kids scoop in a waffle cone she said its 10.95 but the 2 scoop adult is 6.41 mind you the kids scoop is 3.95 please tell me how does putting it in a waffle cone take it higher than the adult 2 scoop it absolutely doesnt make sense, the ice cream if u looking for something close its ok not the worst

There ice cream was amazing! They had so many great flavors to choose from it took a minute to decide. They give you a lot in your servings too. I was so full just from the small. Im gonna have to come back to try the different monthly flavors they have.

It was really good, especially the blueberry ice cream, though not a very original concept on the whole. What I mean is, this is sort of “the thing” right now: small shop, great base ice cream mixed with various goodies to create custom flavors, and a hefty price tag. I’m still giving this 5 stars because they really are doing a great job, but I admit that if I have the time to make the drive down to Angier then Sunni Skies Ice Cream is better, has more options, and costs less than 1/2 the price!

We really like this place.The good : They have a constantly rotating selection, along with a always-available selection of homemade ice cream. Fresh made waffle cones, quarts and pints available, and they often work with local producers to produce a special batch for a month.The bad : I find quite a few of the flavors to be relatively bland. Some of my favorites arent always as good as other times, resulting in a bit of inconsistency with a flavor. The downtown location has no outside heaters and very little in door seating, so its a bit of a pain during colder weather.Overall you take the good with the bad with homemade ice cream. Ice tried four local joints, and this is the one we come back to the most. Especially to see whats new every month.

This place has the best ice cream in town. They have a massive selection of flavors that change daily, including classics like vanilla and cookies and cream, less common varieties like raspberry and coconut, and some very unique stuff like trail mix and breakfast. They have plenty of outdoor seating so its perfect for summer, not so much for winter. If you really love their ice cream you can take home a full tub of any flavor.

One of the best places to get ice cream at in Downtown Cary!The waffle cones are made fresh and the banana pudding ice cream is 10/10!The sizes are large enough you could share with a child if need be. I made the mistake of getting one for my daughter when we could have shared.Seating outside is great as well and they have napkins and wet wipes for the messes.

Im not even that but if a fan normally.Cheesecake was also amazing with the actual fluffy cheesecake chunks-- not Graham cracker chunks masquerading as cheesecake chunks-- like must places do.Only one I didnt like was the birthday cake flavor I sampled. Not on them though, thats just my preference.You cant beat this stuff.
