The NICEST people. I had left my battery charger in Sioux Falls and needed to buy another . I called to see if they were open because it was Labor Day holiday. They said yes. I got a call back in a few minutes to clarify that they would probably be open only to about noon because of the holiday. Never would get that from other big stores. Stopped and picked up my charger and an SD card. They were very friendly and wore masks (as did I). Gave me a discount on my charger and I was happily on my way. Shop there if you are in Casper!

Without question THE Wyoming photo institution, Wyoming Camera Outfitters has it all going on, especially now that they also have a store in Jackson, right in the heart of National Park country. Dinty and Chris and Travis (up in Jackson) love what they do, and it shows at every level of the customer experience. The stores by nature have to be selective about their product but they know what people are looking for so top brands are all they carry. Canon, Tamron Lenses, Sony, Peak Design, the Thinktank/Mindshift system, Breakthrough Photographys filters, 3 Legged Thing... They know whats up. If youre in Casper or find yourself in Jackson, stop in and say hello. Theyll make you some coffee and see about having you stay awhile. If you happen to purchase something, well, that was inevitable :)

ALWAYS helpful staff! They will chew the fat with you as long as you like. Ive purchased a lens and accessories from them. Very convenient to not have to wait on mail order / internet. You get to touch the gear and test it out. Cant do that online!Cheers!

Not only do they have great staff but they have a black dog mascot. The store is more Cannon friendly than Nikon but before I left I actually considered switching. I also have to inform that the accessory items are top brand names with the full line (Base to top dollar). Very impressed!

After much research and not able to make a decision on what to buy, on a whim while in Jackson I stopped into this store and told my buddy it will just be 15 minutes. To his surprise it was a couple hours of fantastic technical expertise from Travis Bone and hand on usage of different platforms Travis had used and am blown away by his depth of knowledge and genuine assurance he shared with me.He gave excellent advice and allowed us two to try out a camera and lens until I was able to make a actual buying decision. After further discussion on subject matter to shoot along with my desire to only have 1 Lens, and I think maybe a bit of hesitation with that decision he forged forward with my decision and determined all the items I would need to be successful on my trip.He has continued after my decision to answer my questions regarding additional lens outstanding clarification and taking into account my skill level and what my focus in photography is centered around. I highly recommend Travis in the Jackson Wyoming store for outstanding service. You’re in excellent care with him and I feel the rest of the staff is of similar caliber!Thank you very much for all the help Travis!

Its a great place Id your buying a camera and for learning how to use a camera well. They have a 3 course class for $50. Also the people there are very friendly and the tech of the class said your a student for life so ask me any questions you have by email. All in all a great place Id your looking to buy camera equipment or learn a or classes.

Wyoming Camera Outfitters is a great camera store downtown. Not only do they carry the Canon line of digital cameras, but they also have a small stock of film B&W photography supplies for the college students taking classes. They were my number one stop for supplies needed for the B&W photography class I took at the college.

While in Casper for the 2017 solar eclipse a gentleman stepped on and broke the solar filter for my telescope. The guy felt bad and went in to Wyoming Camera Outfitters and bought me a new one. But the one he bought to replace my original solar filter was too small. 😶 And of course by the time he brought it back and I got it test fitted the store was closed. So at this point I was in total panic mode. So I went in the next morning, and keep in mind its the day of the eclipse. The store was open 2 hours earlier than advertised. I exchanged the filter for the proper one with no problems. These guys were a life saver, and the gentleman working there saved the day for my 2017 Great American Eclipse.

Ive been to a few camera stores in a few different cities. Ill either get stereotyped that Im making music videos, or I get no help at all. Wyoming Camera Outfitters treated me like a person and didnt judge me the second I walked in the door.Not only are the prices great, but they are grateful for each and every person that walks through their doors. Regardless if you bought something from them or you just need their expertise. 5 stars isnt enough. If you are in Casper and are looking for camera gear, make sure you stop here. I will definitely go back if Im ever in town!

Saw other reviews indicating Wyoming Camera Outfitters are competitive with online stores. Maybe thats true for NON-CANON items, but does NOT appear to be true for Canon equipment. Tried to buy a Canon BG-E8 today. Price was marked at $220. Asked the clerk if that was his best price. He said it was non negotiable.B&H has the same item $119. It is a boxed, Canon USA, non gray market, item. Canon has the SAME item on their online store for $176.I expect to pay more to shop locally BUT not almost twice as much!! Wont be shopping there again.

I cant say anything about their product but I can say I had a bad customer service experience. I had spoken to another employee the day before and asked if they buy and sell lenses and that I had a lens I wanted to sell. I also wanted to purchase a Nikon fish eye lens. He said yes they buy and sell lenses and that they do have a fish eye lens that will work with Nikon in stock. Great! I planned my entire morning around going to the camera store.The manager was not pleasant when I walked in. No smile, no welcome. I gave him the lens I wanted to sell and he proceeded to tell me that they dont buy lenses but they help people sell them. I also learned that they had no fish eye lens in stock. Everything I was told on the phone was incorrect.While the reasoning the manager gave for their practices made sense to me, I couldnt help but wonder why there was such a huge difference between what employees say to get you in the door and what the truth is.My frustration with having been given incorrect information was met with defensiveness. Although I may have said something rude about the employee in my frustration, there was never any work done to make the experience more pleasant or to even say sorry for having wasted my (THE CUSTOMERS) time.I had also gone in to ask a question about other products but I felt so uncomfortable I left.Being that they are the only camera rental store in Casper I wanted to make a good business contact.Maybe next time we will be able to be kinder to each other.THEY ONLY DO CONSIGNMENT WITH PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT. fyi.

These guys get it. I lost one of the rubber feet to my Gitzo carbon fiber tripod, and this was at the beginning my of National parks photo tour. I was leaving Yellowstone and was on my way to RMNP with an overnight stay in Casper, Wy.I Googled and found Wyoming Camera Outfitters in Casper and called. I spoke to William Dinty Miller and explained my problem. I told him I would get there close to closing time. I showed up minutes before they closed and he had the perfect solution for me at an perfect price.I was able to use my tripod for the next 2.5 weeks without worrying about ruining my tripod. Not a bad place,i find myself goin there alot.The owner is very knowledgable about photos,but my main issue is some of the stuff in thier price wise seems really expensive.

Just went down to store after talking with employee who said they had a 58mm graduated ND filter. Once there, employee behind counter told me they didnt, then tried to tell me a graduated ND filter wouldnt darken the sky in a frame. Then he said the other guy didnt know what an ND filter was. I dont think either of them had a clue. What a waste of time.
