Donβt come here unless you plan on being ripped off. I was on a call that I couldnβt hang up on so I put the call on hold and stopped talking to order( was trying not to be rude by being on my phone) I got 4 cake donuts nothing fancy 2 pinks a plain and a maple. These over cooked dinky donuts cost me $10 now that I looked at pricing it should of been $1.25 each. The lady knew I was using cash so I have no credit card receipt π§Ύ I usually pay with a card . I will no longer come to a place who is sneaky and over charges you when your distracted and paying cash. Dishonest!!! Picture to show how tiny and skinny these donuts were. Never again! And I have tried to call and no one answered the phone after multiple times today and yesterday!Update :Talked to lady on the phone finally after many attempts in 2 days who said she is a Manager not owner, so she says the donuts are now $1.90, weird the same donuts from doordash, Uber eats and oh yeah your website picture of prices and on google say $1.25 nonraised cake donut. Still even if they were $1.90 that still doesnβt go over even with tax $10. It was exactly $10.41 You wanna help small businesses thrive yet they wanna rip you off!Math $1.90 x 4 = 7.60 + tax 0.60 which is a total of $8.20 . So what was the extra charge of $2.41 for? Overcharging people is stealing! Lost my business!
Like another reviewer said, the apple fritter was beyond greasy. Basically this thing was an oil sponge. But most significant was the lack of apple...I kept picking it apart looking for the apples in this apple fritter and never found a single piece. Not one. Unless I woke up in a parallel universe where apple fritters dont contain apples, something is very wrong. Not to mention, this thing was so greasy, it tasted like someone had dunked it in oil for an eternity just so it would soak up as much grease as possible. I only ate a few bites (which was more in an attempt to convince myself that there had to be an apple in there) and a few hours later (prepare for TMI but it needs to be said)...the diarrhea began...this continued for hours. If youre doing a colonoscopy prep, this is the fritter for you! Maybe the regular donuts here are good but Im not brave enough to test fate again!-------Store owner: thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. Here is a picture of the overcooked no apples-apple fritter that you sold me. Most companies would say βIβm sorry that you didnβt like your apple fritter, please come back and we will do what we can to make it right,β but instead, your response was that it was something else I did. Unfortunately, I disagree with your assessment and reading through your other reviews, I find quite a few that agree with me. Iβm sure you work hard to run your business and appreciate that but Iβm afraid your response did nothing to reassure me or inspire me to give your establishment another chance and Im still left wondering whether your fritters actually contain the fruit they are named after or if they are just fruit flavored.
Im surprised that anyone would rate this place as excellent. The cronuts were rubbery, oily and bland. The apple fritter was barely OK, and I wont be back a second time. My wife had a bear claw and didnt finish it because it was not of good quality. Also, this place prepares and serves food, but it is not very clean. If you have any discretion about food quality, then pass on The Donut House.
Got a dozen doughnuts mixed between cake and yeast. They were all delicious including the two pineapple fritters. Worth mentioning is that this place fills yeast doughnuts when you order, so they dont sit and get soggy on the shelf. The chocolate custard-filled (boston cream) were awesome. Lastly, dont wait until late to grab your doughnuts. The good stuff will sell out.
Donuts were great! Service was a little slow but Iβm willing to wait for a good donut.
We used The Donut House at our wedding, and they were incredible! They were easy to work with, and their customer service was outstanding; and most importantly, the donuts were amazing! I would highly recommend The Donut House to anyone who needs 1000 donuts, or just one donut. I cannot speak highly enough of them.
Its a donut. Nothing special. Their apple fritters are very good though.
This donut shops is βjust okayβ we got an apple fritter which was actually really good and then 3 other raised donuts. Bill was around $9.50ish almost $10 for 4 donuts. Quality was lacking a little bit for the price ~ would go back for the apple fritter.
I get donuts here for my staff every other week. Product is consistently delicious and the service (its always Jamie working when I go in) is always friendly and efficient. Two thumbs up!
Love this place always sold out of the filled ones before noon so got to get their early. So nice even fill them fresh and put great chocolate on any
The donuts are fresh and if you get there before 9am, you can have your pick of whatever you would like. Get there after 9 or 10 and settle for the leftovers. I was very surprised it cost me $16 for 6 donuts (1 being a bear claw) and they asked for a tip after all that. I gave it a 2 because the donuts were good but the service and prices are something that needs to be worked on.
Its funny most of the bad reviews start with. Usually this place is awesome but..... I think this place has 2nd best donuts in all of Colorado. Just like you they may have an off day once in a while but they are amazinh
Fantastic donuts. Although they seemed a little $$, they are totally worth it. Fresh and tasty. π
Great little donut shop! I got a maple bar and a glazed donut and they were super good. The lady behind the counter was really friendly and very helpful. I will definitely come back here.
They have really good croissant donuts. They have three sizes of them donut holes, bars and squares. Their raised donuts are good also I love their cinnamon raised because there is a bunch of cinnamon on it. I was not impressed with their old fashion donuts the day I had them they were dry and tasted more like an old yellow cake donut.
Delicious and fresh donuts! Weve been here a few times and have never been disappointed! Their breakfast burritos are also super delicious and made to order. They also have very friendly staff.
Amazing handmade donuts with a local friendly smile!! Great selection and decent price. Plenty of drink options to boot!
A great chocolate covered doughnut!
OK. So if you want a good donut, go here. Let out your inner fat child. You will have no regrets!
No matter how many dozens you buy, theyll make more. They have THAT much dough.
Fresh and Fabulously Delicious
My family and I always stop by here when driving through Castle rock! Itβs generally easy to find, the service is great, and the donuts are phenomenal! I donβt know how they do it, but they are buttery and delicious. I completely recommend anyone stopping by or through Castle rock to have a taste of these donuts!
SOOOO good! The cro-holes are amazing AND addicting!
Very good donuts and great service!
I ordered several of the raised donuts via Doordash for my daughters sleepover breakfast. The cherry raised donuts had absolutely NO cherry flavor whatsoever (the icing is just colored pink). The chocolate was completely scorched and tasted like burnt coffee. The vanilla were so drenched in icing that we had to scrape most of it off (thats just personal preference, however). The kids wouldnt even eat any of the donuts so it ended up being a compete bummer. This was our first experience with The Donut House, so it may have been a one-off situation, but it was disappointing to say the least.
This place is so good. WAY BETTER THAN Krispy Kreme.
Deeelicious. Something about the dough, itβs so tasty, fresh, crispy in the right spots. Cake donuts delicious too. Great service. Our favorite place to get donuts. Even the packaging is perfect. You DO deserve a donut. π
Fresh hot donuts. You can have them filled, special or just plain. Never had a bad experience with them.
The donuts are great. The lady behind the counter was nice. However the place is pretty dirty. Heres hoping you dont have to use the restroom. A little paint and a deep cleaning would go a long way.
I stopped by The Donut House in Castle Rock this morning for a Donut. Much to my disappointment, their selection was sparse. I opted for an Apple Fritter, which, in my opinion, is always a good choice. However, on this particular day, this Apple Fritter was the absolute WORSE I had ever had. It had absolutely NO apples in it and the inside was a yellow colored dough. I donβt know why the dough would be of a yellow color, but I tossed it outside for the birds. It didnβt even have an apple/cinnamon taste to it.I have had pretty good experiences in the past, so maybe it was a bad day at The Donut House or maybe ownership has changed since I last visited? I donβt know, but it was a bad enough experience that it has turned off my desire for a Donut from The Donut House, at least for now and in the near future. I will venture out beyond The Donut House, in search of the perfect Apple Fritter/Donut.
Best donut I have ever tasted.
Awesome place, with great staff and better donuts. The fill the donut you select when you purchase it from a selection of flavors. Bavarian cream was my selectionMy friend ordered a call ahead special that was like creme brulee.. and yep it was that good..Had great conversations with everyone that came in while we were there. Thanks for the great atmosphere.
I have loved Omars Donuts for about 10 years now. Even to this day when I see him he remembers me and is always so polite. To top everything off his donuts are the best I have found in all Colorado. Great service and great food.
Great donuts
Hands down - Best donuts in Colorado!! My go-to place when bringing breakfast treats to a morning home inspection or a closing! They are always a hit and a great way to introduce new Castle Rock homeowners to one of our many great local businesses.
No matter hot or cold they taste like oil...not a fan ..tried them many times..Too oily .. not drained well..old oil ..not sure
If theres a better donut shop in town thats even remotely comparable, I certainly havent found it. The staff is very friendly and helpful every time I have visited and they have a great selection of donuts. The bear claws and donut holes are out of this world amazing.
I cant even tell you how the donuts taste because theyve called and asked me to cancel my order twice now.
Place is a rip-off. Donut were good I guess for donuts. $16 for 2 donuts and 3 small pints of milk. Iβm pretty sure the donuts were about $2.50 each. That means a pint of milk is over $3. So $10 for 3 small milks. I spend less on lunch and get twice as much. 1ST AND LAST TIME I WILL EVER STOP HERE FOR BREAKFAST.
OMG!!! AMAZING. SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY HERE, AND THEN TAKE OUT A SMALL LOAN SO YOU CAN SPEND SOME MORE MONEY BECAUSE THESE DONUTS COME FROM GOD HIMSELF!!!! Also the staff is so friendly and helpful, I wish I could hug them, but Iβd probably get frosting all over them and weβre doing the whole social distancing thing. AMAZINGGGGGGGG STUFF!!!!
When you want authentic doughnuts and not the hassle of a chain. This place rocks! Coffee was awesome and the staff was attentive and fast...with a line out the door its no wonder why this place gets 5 stars and an awesome review! Perfect everything! Keep up the good work!
Really good donuts and great selection
Good and fresh π© love it!
Went in to find a dozen for the office- told the lady an couple of preferences (primarily glazed and chocolate) and she built the perfect mixed box for us. Donuts themselves were excellent and obviously freshly made. This is the only donut shop I go to!
This is a wonderful locally owned donut shop in Castle Rock. We like to venture over here after brunch sometimes for a tasty desert. They are also known for making good burritos. I havent tried one but my daughter loves them.
It was a place that sold donuts, nothing too special but a nice little quick stop
This is a great donut. I tried both the raised & the cake, they were excellent. The Cinnamon Crunch was fantastic! And they have not only donuts with sprinkles but several different types with different sprinkles. Its pretty awesome. Beats the chains for sure. And super nice people!
Family owned and operated. Wide assortment of donuts made fresh daily. Filled donuts are done when you order them to maintain freshness and choice of fillings. Offer assorted coffee drinks as well. Castle Rock location is rather small with only 4 or 5 tables to sit.
Great donuts very fast with lots of variety.
We like coming here for a special early morning treat. The cro-holes are the best (but if you can get them warm and right out of the fryer, thats perfection). The variety is good and the staff is friendly. Easy to get to, though the parking lot isnt very big.
My daughter and I love this place!!
Best donuts. Try the blueberry donut and all flavors of fritters. Come early, they sellout of their specialty treats quick.
Ive been to this donut house location a good handful of times. The donuts were fresh every time Ive been here no complaints there but pricing is more than any other donut place I can think of but 1. The toppings on their donuts are more unique and delicious I must say but my complaint is with their fritters. The first one I had was delicious but 3 times after they were burnt. They are literally black around the edges and very dark in color Im not sure if their oil is a factor in this or the fact they are just burning all of them. For them being 3$$ a piece I would expect them to at least be cooked correctly.
They leave the back of the display case open and with everyone going in and out the front door there was flies crawling all over the doughnuts. No thanks! Plus, the place is extremely dirty.
Cro holes are life. Others try to make something similar and they cannot come close. This little place is a hole in the wall, and dont let it fool you! Its fantastic! Great prices too! Love love love it!!
The Donut House is a must visit eatery. Their donuts are always fresh and always melt in your mouth scrumptious. It is getting harder and harder to find value for your dollar but the Donut House has it in spades. Their donuts and coffee are worth every penny and then some. They have a wonderfully tempting variety and no matter what your choice you will be delighted with the flavor and freshness. If you are looking for lunch they do that too and equally easy on your wallet. I highly recommend this quality restaurant. They are obviously interested in doing business with honor and integrity and they truly care about their customers.
Normally my experience here is amazing, however, today was not. I arrived shortly before 9am to get a 1/2 dozen donuts. I ordered 2 lemon filled donuts and I was told there is no lemon filling. I was very surprised but went ahead and picked raspberry filling. I was then told there is only 1 round donut left for raspberry, so I picked a rectangular one for the 2nd jelly filled donut. Next, I wanted 2 plain donuts and was told there was only 1 left. Okay, I pick a glazed. I then picked two cinnamon sugar donuts to finish the order. The young man serving me said I only picked 5 donuts. I was confused but said, okay give me a chocolate. I get to my office and from my 6 donut the 2nd jelly filled donut is not in the box. Normally, not a huge deal but it was a employees birthday and her favorite is lemon filled. I hope the next time I go in they have enough inventory and put the proper donuts in the box.
A bit too much sugar for me, but a good donut underneath all of the toppings. Definitely worth a try if you havent been before. Best time to go is early in the mornings .
This place is awesome! A a guy who goes quite often, I can say that the donuts are delicious and the workers are friendly. Too bad others give bad reviews because of a single experience.
My name is corey and I love the donut house! I love the donut house because I live right next to there and they always are so nice and friendly! I go in and buy the freshest donut and they always give me an extra one with a big smile! I hope you guys see this review! Have a happy night ππ
Great donuts, always fresh, even better service.
They definitely have really good donuts but nothing to go way overboard with. its better than some but not as good as others. I guess theres nothing that really stands out is what it boils down to If you like donuts that are good then theres your place.
The best donuts in Castle Rock. But always ask for fresh apple fritters. They gave me day-old fritters and they were very dried out. I was going to take them back but decided just to let them know next time I go
Best fritters, cinnamon-sugar, sugar, chocolate, long johns, and on and on this side of the Continental Divide! Yum!
Love this place. Anyone taking our orders has always been friendly. Often times they have let us try some of the donuts to see if we liked them. Fresh donuts are so good!
We were not satisfied. We stopped by at their peak hours (8am) and the donuts were stone cold, and did not taste fresh. Cinnamon twist was hard, and the Glazed donuts hardly had any frosting. Cold donuts taste good but if I wanted that I would go to a gas station. We were expect warm, fresh donuts just glistening with glazing and frosting, sadly we did not.
Weve been to the Castle Rock shop several times. Most of the cronuts were very very oily, and inedible. Its a hit or miss, most of the times its a miss. I dont know why it is, the employees dont know what temperature to bring the oil up or what. I guess they need training and need patience when they fry.
Awful service. I asked them to heat up a few donuts in the microwave for me because I was in around 10 AM and they were cold, which is reasonable. The lady was visibly irritated that I even asked, but she asked me how long I wanted them heated up for. I said 15 seconds, and she said OK, I will do it for exactly how long you want, but I normally dont like to microwave donuts. I said fine. Then she evidently changed her mind and said You know what, I actually dont want to because you might burn your hands and come back on us for it. Seriously? You are worried that I am going to burn my hands from donuts that were microwaved for 15 seconds and then come back and sue you? I used to be a big fan of this place. Never again.
Sweet lady and delicious treats. But very price. 3 donuts and a coffee 10 dollars
This is completely insane and unacceptable, at 930am this morning you guys are out of every type of doughnut except for like 6 plain...... your employees were of no help not even explaining as to why no more were being made only stating a certain amount is made for the day your website states youre open till 5 tho but how can this be true if you run out with a whole 7 more hours of business????? We watched multiple people leave because of this and yall are losing so much business because of poor stocking.
Costs more than King Soopers, but worth it. And made with love.
I live 45 mins from this location and I make the drive specifically to get donuts here. These are the freshest, best donuts Ive ever had. Ive searched and searched for good donuts around me and have only found garbage even at 6 am. This place has amazing donuts even at 3 PM! Incredible stuff.
Great service and fresh donuts
Absolutely Amazing!!I strongly reccomed the Crow Holes!! Its like a puff pastry donut that literally melts in your mouth! Ill order 12 for myself, no shame!
One of my favorite little shops ever. The owners are the kindest, genuinely caring about customers while putting out delicious donuts authentic as themselves. Simply a must-try if youre in Castle Rock!
Always great quality! Best fritters Ive ever had. Owner said he mixes sugar with honey to achieve a perfect sweetness. I drive 10 miles from Parker to get my donuts at Donut House!
This place is hands down the best donut shop I have ever been to. They are always fresh and have a great selection! You will not be disappointed
These donuts are AMAZING!! So good i bought a half dozen when i arrived in town to visit family and then bought another dozen to fly home with to MO to share with kids and husband... AND yes the jelly filled made it through security, yay! Will definitely be a must stop place each time we come to CO!
They always have a fresh doughnuts made from scratch every day with a big smile.
The donuts are good, the staff friendly, but the selection seemed a bit sparse, and I think the oil temp may have been slightly off as they seemed a bit greasy/oily.
It is so hard to find a good donut or fritter anymore but the donut house excelled in both. The first time since I was a kid that I had a glazed donut that was incredible and a apple fritter that impressed me. Great job!!!
Very good fresh donuts. Looks like theyre jus starting out so go support this small business!
Overpriced. 2 fritters 3 donuts and a lemonade was 13.50. But isnt everything in Colorado overpriced. Owner has to pay castle Rock lease prices. Not cheap. However this is the best donut by far. Yes even better than a well known springs bane Amys donuts. They have cronuts a croissant donut. If your too late in day they may be already gone there that good and you can get them filled with cvarious flavors of creme filling. Amazing. Its a Colorado must.
Fresh, friendly, local - first off you should support just because they are local/small biz. They make fresh, no frozen like others. Plus they have good customer service. Which is what we should expect from all biz, but these days you can really stand out.
So went in today Saturday at 9:45am and the Donut house is out of donuts and not making anymore for the day. So I know donuts are not real expensive but at $2-$3 each I was ready to buy 5 or 6 . I guess the owner make enough $ to only sell a few donuts in the am and with the store open till 5pm I would think there is more $ to be made. So we will now on be going to the other store in town from now on.
Best donuts ever... another shop soon to open on Alameda near Windsor gardens. Yay! I was an original customer at Parker road when I lived in that area.... Now I live near the Alameda store. Oh Happy day
The most underrated donut shop in Aurora. This place has a great variety of donuts at reasonable prices. The owner is friendly and this place is open 7 days a week from 5 am to 3 am. Nice compact donut shop close to popeyes chicken. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for donuts throughout the day.
This is the best donut shop I have ever been to. They must have an old family recipe for the dough. If youβre looking for the best, come here.
Their variety is great, lots of options to please anyone in the group! I love the cronuts! The quaint feel of the shop adds to the small town charm. Staff was friendly and they work through the lines quickly.
Great donuts, breakfast burritos were delicious, friendly service
This place is great! Im a chef by trade and can tell you they are clean well trained and deliver a top notch product. I would recommend them to anyone
I rarely eat donuts, but every once and while I get a hankerin for one. Ive been to the Donut House in Castle Rock twice now (work in CR) and was referred there by co-workers. Today I spoke with Mo (?) the owner and man is he a nice guy who cares about baked goods! The treats and service far surpass your typical grocery store bakery encounter - no offense. So if youre in Castle Rock and enjoy splurging on a breakfast pastry from time to time, dont waste the occasion and go to the Donut House!
Seriously, these might be the friendliest business people I have ever experienced. The donuts were awesome, the cronut-holes were crave worthy, and both of the guys at the front counter put a huge goofy smile on my face. So worth the calories!
We love this place but in the last few months their service and product have been slipping a little. My kids like the custard filled donuts. Previously those were filled well and without gaps but in the last few months we have gotten donuts with big voids and a few that were not evened filled at all. Some donuts have been pretty hard, almost dried out. It also appears that some of their employees are not familiar with the types/flavors of the donuts. Again, we like their donuts a lot, just hoping that they can get back to the high quality.
I have been coming here for years, everytime I visit Colorado because the donuts are so wonderful. Sadly, the last time I visited the Castle Rock location, I had a poor experience. I came right at 5:30 am when they opened and was not allowed in until 6:00 am due to them running late. I had a 10 hour drive home, so this was very irritating. I proceeded to get my donuts, I bought about 18 or so, because I planned to take some home for family members, and tried to pay with a $100 bill. They did not like that either and seemed irritated to get change and told a worker to not allow customers to do it anymore. After all of this, all I got rewarded was 2 free donuts picked by an employee that I did not even want/like. Had they gave me a discount/free donuts (that I could choose) and atleast opened the door so that I could wait inside while they finished up a few last minute tasks, I would have thought about coming back, but I am sad to say, I dont think I will be back and these are my favorite donuts ever. Just a tip, while waiting, many people tried to come to the door and get donuts and left because the door was locked, while I waited the half hour. Lots of business lost for you guys.
Love when Moe is working. I get free samples. Love the cream-filled donuts. Yummy!Cant wait to stop in for more one day (hopefully soon)
Nothing exceptional. Food is over priced, the stores interior is old and makes me think its not clean or sanitary. Would prefer more moderately sized portions.
