The store has good selection of various European products from Poland, Russia, Ukraine and many other countries that I dont recognize. Customer service was mediocre, but not expecting much. This was our first visit. We bought 5 refrigerated/frozen items from this store and one of them had mold inside. This is supposed to be frozen/cold items. The expiration date is a few months away and seal was unbroken. I dont think the store is deliberately putting out moldy items, but it could be that the item was shipped non-refrigerated or they didnt take care to store the product at appropriate temperature. For a cold item to grow mold like this, what else could be bad?
I love this place because I enjoy about different foods and the staff is always patient and accommodating. It has a large variety of items from all over Europe
If you crave Eastern European food this is the place. If it is food from Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Austria, Turkey, Moldavia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece this is the place. Chocolate, cookies, potted meats, sausages, pickled vegetables, borscht, grains, beer, wine, bakery, deli. 17 years in business. Impossible to describe. Prices are good. Truly amazing.
Such a good place for polish and Russian items. The price is also very reasonable :)To be honest my favorite part is that they have some homemade items which are alway great. And they have a HUGE variety! You cannot go wrong!!Definitely check it out... its a bit hidden but a total gem
A bit cramped, but a good selection of hard-to-find imported foods
Being a Russian it’s nice to have a place where I could pick up some of my favorites.
I’d give no stars if it were an option. Never have I ever been so poorly treated, disrespected, and discriminated against while trying to make a purchase. Truly a horrible experience for me, and I will never be coming back.
Great selection of products and excellent customer service! This is my go to store for authentic Eastern European, Ukrainian and Russian products. Store employees are always very helpful and polite. The food they make in store is delicious.
Eastern-European food anyone? Highly recommend beef pirozhki, chebureki, salted herring - the kind you will not find in a merican store and oh yes, the hard salami is particularly good. Also check out the dumplings and smoked fish. You want to try some real Russian / Ukranian borsh? Ask them, they have it (they cook it, it is not pre-packaged). Now thats a real thing, not some pathetic attempt by a merican restaurant on Potrero. Not to mention the bakery, chocolate candies, ginger bread cookies and variety of crackers. Live a little - surprise yourself.
Unfortunately, this place disappointed me. Today at around noontime I was double-charged in this place. When I called to inquire why I have been double charged, the lady on another line suggests I have to come back with a receipt to get a money-back, (I was already an hour away), when I pointed out how is it gonna happen, I didnt receive any intelligible answer. Originally the reason why I checked on the amount of food and price was that the last time I visited this place I experience the same, my bill was high with a lot of items on the list, I didnt feel I got the right price. Well, this time it has been proved. The lady whom I spoke with ( she sounds the same as the one who overcharged me, white short hair aged lady) when I mentioned the previous overcharge experience, refuse to talk to me right away, suggesting Im the dishonest one. Be careful buying your groceries here, they easily take advantage of you when seeing that you dont pay attention.
Lady needs to learn the culture and manners of this country. This is not Soviet Union, costumer service is crucial to a business.
Everyone who is complaining needs to get over themselves. This place is great. Way more stocked than other European shops. Wish there were more in the Bay Area.
Very clean and accessible place. They offer generous meals and for economical prices. I enjoyed the meals very much and the waiters were super attentive and explanatory. Highly recommended.
I tried this spot once with my friend and I am hooked since then. I liked the excellent mood and yummy dishes and beverages. Keep up the good work.
It was a very nice store! Had lots of sweets!!!
This place is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a good lunch, this place comes instantly to my mind. exeptionalgorgeous and many types of food and a large menu.trained team, and nice mood. Also important, the tariff is affordable. I recommend this spot with great pleasure.
Love the piroski and other european fare... and those beers.. 😊
Great selection of eastern European products. Prices are a bit steep.
Plenty of choices for easter.
Great place to go and get quick groceries!!!
Best blintzes. Great selection.
This place is great! Fair pricing, large portions and the staff members are always helpful.
Youll find a lot of great things in this store!! Items from Europe you wont find in your standard grocery store.
The store has good Russian products although pricy. What discourages most is the old woman with the blonde wig that they put at the cashier, feels like she hates their customers and wants them out of the store. Looks like she worked at the store during Soviet Union and got transferred from there with all that mentality. Maybe they want you to feel like you really are in the Russian store.)
Nice people with a unique selection of delicious items to discover!
This place and people that visit it reminded me of what USSR was like. And i mean it in a bad way. Very few products are worth stopping by for, mostly canned/packaged food, bakery options are mediocre at best and overpriced. Staff looks at you just like in any Russian store - get your order and gtfo, pretty much.
Lots of variety to choose from! Its a tiny store but their selection is wonderful. I particularly liked their breads, cheese, and pastries. Its a little pricey but you get to experience exotic food. Just beware that you might not understand the names or ingredients because they are not translated. Just take a chance. For instance try their pirojki, its like delicious empanadas.
A small good store with lots of traditional Russian/Ukrainian grocery. Here you can find traditional bakery products, pickled vegetables and mushrooms of different kind, beverages, cavia, pelmeni, seasonings and bunch of other unique stuff.Prices are little too high but they are not Walmart and need to make money somehow. Besides, there you can get a free Russian newspaper.
Love this place. Great peroshkis and friendly service.
Has a great selection of Eastern European food. I’m a Chicago native, and the lack of quality European markets has been a point of frustration for a while. It’s hard to compare to what I grew up with, but this is the best I’ve been to in the Bay Area.
Good choice of Eastern European food
Great store, very nice and friendly personal.
Really fun little store with a nice variety of Eastern European foods.
Not a good quality of food. There is no fresh bakery. Just basic canned things, there are some dairy and sausages options. Nothing existing. Im from Russia, and food which they are selling here I would not buy in Russia, cheapest not healthy options which are sold for not so cheap price here. Unless you are really nastalgic to buy baking soda or salt with Russian label on it.
Fresh food, friendly service, lots of choices. Prepare to be tempted.
Its a Eastern European grocery store that has few table so you can eat inside if you like. Food was good.
Great store we shop there regularly.....
Delicious authentic Russian food. Try candy, cakes, beer and, pretty much, anything else.
The workers there are the worst. They dont acknowledge you when you walk in and they put off by customers and speak down to you. Walked out. Wouldnt bring my business there.
Very awesome place friendly people great items. Everything is really good
Great little market!
I had an awesome shopping experience! I had a fresh potato Pirozhki (hope I spelled that correctly) it was great. hope to try them all. The gentlemen was very knowledgeable of all the product in the store. Im going to go back soon!Thank you!
Hit and miss quality particularly in fish and salami department. What they cook in their own kitchen is always great, especially fresh bread and piroshki.
Great little store and deli.
Excellent customer service and wide variety of products.
I just went to that Russian store and got the cake, 1 pound was 8$, but I paid 12.5$i was overcharged, I just realize when I got home.I am not going to go back for that money, but it’s not nice to cheat customers. Seems like they don’t care about reputation.
This is probably the worst market we have ever been to in terms of customer service. The sales assistant spat some racist comments and was very rude while interacting with an old Asian lady today. On top of that, the quality of produce is mediocre. Basically, if you want to be treated like garbage and overpay for mediocre goods, then this is the place for you.
GOOD selection of deli meats an sausages
Good quality Eastern European home made deli and foods.
Great selection for such a small store, reasonable prices. never had an issue with anything bought here.
Never been there
The flavors of Middle East and the diversity of products act like a magnet on me, although Im from other pastures.
Great deli, cordial service.
I like the different Eastern European products, specially teas and cheese 🧀Chocolates and in house cooking
Great place for European food
If you miss some of the Russian food - you probably can find it here
Fast and friendly service.
Lock of products, very high prices!!
Delicious European food!
Perfect!

Nice place. By the way, today I found there wonderful wonderful Glazed curd sticks in chocolate!
Not a bad place near meThis is a target store and it’s worth nothing to expect from it.I go for a few lovely products for me (they are always there, since they are stored for a long time)There, indeed, the atmosphere was also belated as in a Soviet store 😊
