Everyone - the butcher, other customers, and take out people were all super friendly today, helping us figure out how to make Chile Verde & get the best ingredients. Sooooo nice. The take out food was really really good, and looked wonderful, like all being made and simmered right there. Secret options like chicharron in Chile Verde sauce (in addition to normal Chile Verde). The butcher even had secret pork shoulder, really fresh. Sissy usually really fresh vegetables - best place for cilantro.

Authentic Mexican food people. The steak and shrimp giant burritois my fav with a side order of 4 cheesy enchiladas with all the trimmings in a easy to go sealed tight plastic container thats real not like one of those styrofoam containers thats gonna leak out in your vehicle. This is definitely a hidden gem in Castro Valley. I realize theres a Chipotle in Castro Valley & many go there for convenience. But when you want some authentic Mexican burrito or food, I would highly recommend this over Chipotle. Yes, its a super market, but they serve & make food for you inside too. The carne asade super burrito never disappoints & you have to try the surf & turf burrito, if your a fan of shrimp burritos.

Wow surprised on the upside. The red hot sauce is tangy and spicy..Reminds me of King Taco in LA! The burrito was a great deal at $9 and super fresh and thick. Just the way I like it. Big Fan.

This is a great little place! Theres an eatery and grocery combined in one. The grocery has everything youd ever need for your daily life. Fresh meats and produce, too! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable as well. The small eatery is great for meals on-the-run... prepared fresh to order. Parking is a little tight, so be patient and courteous.

Best mexican food in Castro Valley period. Huge burritos, steak fries are insane, and the tacos michiochan are out of this world. Friendly and helpful staff. Oh and the frutas naturales are phenomenal. Its located inside of a supermarket which has a variety of fresh as well as frozen produce, a butcher shop and they do catering.

Google reviews seemed really positive. Im sure it is a top spot in CV for burritos, but in terms of Bay Area competition, they dont stack up. Average burrito with stale rice, but extra star for being generous with that meat.

Their burritos and agua frescas are really good. The horchata is excellent. It was very busy and the staff are helpful and efficient. Their grocery store has very good produce.

I always get the lengua quesadilla, its my favorite. Not 5 stars because I recently bought a side of guacamole and it didnt look or taste like it, its a lighter green and soupy.

What a great spot for Mexican take out and you can pick up groceries at the same time. There is a protein market in the rear that has a variety of proteins, Mexican cheese and really delicious ceviche and fresh made guacamole. The produce is good too. I was making street corn and needed the powder cheese that goes on after the Tajin...they of course had it

Theyve got it all here and the deli counter is excellent. Come by on the weekend and score a pint of menudo.

Pretty good burritos, got Carne asada and shrimp and steak. Couldnt figure out markings and ended up eating wrong ones. I like his better than mine, but I saw some carnitas burritos being made and think I might try that next time. Not cheap, but Im not sweating that during the scamdemic. When places can open, competition will come back.Moving nearby soon so I expect Ill get to try a lot of the menu. I seem to recall getting a quesadilla last time (pre covid) and it was good.

Music is so loud they can’t hear you when you make you order in the taqueria have to repeat it three times. Rancheras are ok but lower the volume. Food is always good in this place they are quick

Be prepared to wait in long lines for the prep foods section. Ask when their salsa is made before buying, ours was going bad. They wont listen to any complaints about anything so heads up.

Another place I wish I could give a higher rating. Have been shopping here since I was a kid with my family and have always loved it. The taqueria is amazing and always satisfies. Anything on the menu is great. Prices on the meats are always good and very high quality. Love buying meat and produce here. Staff is always kind and helpful. Definitely need to stop by if youre in the area.

Great local midsize Mexican market and carniceriawith an even better Taqueria inside. Awesome burritos, tacos, Mexican breakfasts, salads, aguas frescas. Hard to go wrong with most any item and all made to order. Get the breakfasts and their usually cooked to order. And they do not skimp. Come hungry.

The food is very good. I have had the Carne Asada, Super Burritos, Very generous with the meat! If you call in for pickup there is very little to no wait at all. Very friendly. There is also a market so if you need to pick up food for home it is very convenient!

I love this market. It is really clean inside. The employees are super friendly. I never had a bad experience here. When you walk in, to the right hand side, there is a taqueria. Sometimes you have to wait a bit if the line is long. But thats how it is when the food is good. Had them cater the food for a couple of parties before. Great prices. Check out their catering menu.

Best burritos ever

Long lines, dismissive and bored service workers that got our orders wrong. Im not saying they were rude, they werent, it was just obvious they didnt want to be there (which I guess I can understand as this place seems pretty busy).

Good super burritos

This is one of the last places you can still get a satisfying portion of great quality food at a moral price.

Ordered a breakfast burrito, the guy puts sour cream and guac on the burrito and it goes from $8 to $10 and youre now charged for a super burrito. They charge you and dont tell you youre being overcharged. Food is good for the most part. They have lost my business which wont matter to them but its not right to rob people

Dont let the word Supermarket fool you. Besides the Mexican groceries, produce and carne you also get good food here. Actually I was surprised with the quality. Good portions and fairly priced (not cheap though) tried the Chile Rellano burrito and it was filling. Also took away a side of Chicken en mole for later consumption. Going to go back for another meal. The mild salsa is quite mild. Take a sample of the hot one and I suggest pour it on your food...Have a good time
