We decided at last minute to go kayaking. KG was not only accommodating but also amazing! We came from out of state and wanted a last minute memory (before we went our separate ways). We came from a variety of skill levels. This was this childrens first attempt at kayaking-they were apprehensive at first and almost immediately felt comfortable and had a positive wonderful experience. The children expressed a desire to do this again!!!!! Thanks to KG for his safety instruction and excellent landmark directions. Customer service, satisfaction and pricing is the best I have found in the south east US! Love this place-a hidden gem right here in Columbia!

My experience was very disappointing. The communication was awful. I purchased a guided tour with no tour guide. I dont understand what I paid for. The tour guide that was assigned to us, didnt show up. The guys that brought the kayaks told us it would be easy and it turned out to be a disaster. My two daughters were nervous, and after the trip, they never want to do this again. My youngest got stuck on a rock and the current was so strong, that I couldnt get back to her. I had to get out and walk my boat as close to her as I could and explain how to get off the rock. She was terrified and screaming. When we arrived at the boat ramp, no one from the company was there to help us get the boats. There were other friendly people hanging out there that helped us.

My fiancé and I had a great time floating the congaree. Kevin was helpful in getting us the right float. We will definitely use Adeventure Carolina again.

We planned a guided Saluda river kayaking tour with Adventure Carolina weeks in advance. From the start Kevins communication was terrible, then when we showed up where he said to meet, he wasnt there. He ignored our phone calls and texts for 30 minutes, then 20 minutes after he was supposed to be there, he finally called back and said he had an emergency and had to leave town, so he couldnt make it. Dont waste your time or money with this place, absolutely terrible, did not care at all that we had made these plans well in advance, bought everything we needed for the trip, and paid for a sitter for our toddler. Then acted incredulous that we were going to leave a bad review.

Kevin (the owner) is an awesome guide and guy. My wife, niece and I were passing through Columbia to visit Congaree National Park. Before leaving town we wanted to spend some time kayaking on the Congaree River portion before it leads into the national park. I messaged Kevin last minute to see if he could accommodate a group of 3. He was very flexible and put together an awesome time for our group with varying levels of kayaking experience. Definitely look forward to when we’re in the area next to come back and kayak some of the other rivers in Columbia!

Kevin was so friendly and it was an all around amazing experience. We saw ducks, turtles, herons, and otters, and got the chance to learn about the geography of the river. He even took photos for us and sent them to us, and provided a fun and lively experience. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a relaxing, fun day on the water. Kevin also gave recommendations on where we should go to lunch post-kayaking, Pot Smoker barbecue, which proved to be a wonderful experience in of itself. We will definitely be doing this again!

What a great kayaking trip! We did Section 3 from above the zoo to the Gervais bridge. Our guides said the water was a little low, but the rapids were still exciting (yet manageable). Kevin answered all of my questions prior to the trip, and Richard and Carly were wonderful during the trip. As a middle-aged woman, I was a little nervous. Having guides gave me so much comfort. And my son (27) enjoyed it very much too! There was a dad with three boys (pre-teen and teens) in our group, and they were also somewhat novice kayakers. They seemed to have had a great time, too. I highly recommend Adventure Carolina!

Could not have had a better time! Communication with the owner, Kevin, was great before hand, pricing was fair, and the experience was excellent! Went for a birthday present, neither of us had ever been on the water before. Kevin made us not only feel comfortable, but relaxed! I cant recommend Adventure Carolina enough for beginners and experienced alike.

The guide (KG) really set us up great. He knew all of the killer historical sites along the river. Really makes the experience that much better! Timely service. All around awesome place. Definitely worth the time and money!

Adventure Carolina, specifically Kevin, was extremely helpful in setting up our kayaking trip to Congaree. We came to SC when the store was closed and they had all our gear set up outside, ready for pickup. Before our trip, Kevin called to make sure we were still coming. More over, he wanted to make sure we didnt get lost in the park. He left us a map with detailed instructions and called to explain where wed be going. He even offered to meet us at the shop on Thanksgiving.I found this experience to be easy and smooth. They had our best interests and well-being in mind. Southern hospitality at its finest. I would highly recommend Adventure Carolina and will not hesitate to use them again when I need gear or information.

You should only book a trip with Adventure Carolina if you want a fabulous, fun-filled and safe experience!!! These guys made our group of 25 middle schoolers and 4 adults feel like a top priority all day. I would highly recommend this company and personally cant wait to do it all again!!

The Adventure Carolina guides were great once again. They were focused on everyones safety while still keeping the day fun. We got to paddle at our own speed most of the time. No acts of heroism were required (injuries, alligators or people falling out of their boats) on our groups outing, but I am confident the two guides were prepared. Fair warning, you are likely to catch the kayaking bug after your tour.

This was my second kayaking trip with Adventure Carolina and it was just as amazing as the first time. The staff at the shop and the guides on the trip were awesome. There was a few first timer paddlers on the trip and the guides were extremely patient and helpful making sure everyone had a good time. I would recommend Adventure Carolina to anyone looking for a great kayaking trip in the area.

The staff were really amazing, very helpful and the gentleman that brought us to the river was absolutely fantastic. He helped getting me and my girlfriend into the river and told us exactly what to expect and the best routs to take. I will recommend them to everyone!

The Staff at Adventure Carolina really saved the day... wed only lived in Columbia for a week before my Father-in-law decided to visit. The Staff made it easy to book a last minute trip (congaree river) and they were very courteous and fun! we had a great day on the river!.

Wonderful people. Very knowledgable about the area. rented a canoe from them last summer and really enjoyed ourselves. Got lost with all the road closures recently and called them for help. They stayed on the phone for 15 minutes with us guiding to the state park--and we didnt even rent a canoe that day! Thanks adventure Carolina!!

We had a great time! The tour was awesome and Kevin and Wade are half the entertainment. They are a lot of fun!

Trip got cancelled to Congaree National Park due to low water (snakes, wasps, portages). Guy cancelling on the phone was really nice, but I really felt like he just didnt want to run a trip in the heat - and we just wanted a paddle, even if it was short. I respect that we were booking at the wrong time of year, but in that case they should have warned us up front that it might not be able to float. Plus: I bet if they do run a trip, its a good one. Minus: its up to you to ask in advance about what happens if conditions arent right for the trip you hope for.

They are a great place for kayak rentals and guided river trips.

Great time canoeing and kayaking with a group. Only complaint was they shortened the trip for no apparent reason. Would have liked the full trip we paid for.

This was our first kayaking trip and it was awesome. Amanda did a great job with our beginner lesson. She was very knowledgeable about the Congaree River and all of the equipment and helped us feel very comfortable on our trip down the river. I would highly recommend this company and the tour.

I absolutely love the experience I have had with the awesome people at Adventure Carolina. Not only do they make you feel comfortable if its your first time, but they genuinely care about you and ensure that you are safe and happy. My son and I have found a new place to get out and have fun, and he just loves learning about the Congaree and Saluda Rivers. If youre looking for something exciting, fun, and different, this is the place to go. Ive told all my friends about this place and am taking my friend kayaking for his birthday this weekend. I just cant get enough of everything these folks have to offer!

I took my daughter with me last Sunday afternoon for our first kayaking adventure ever on the Congaree River. Our guide Hite had us paddling together and experiencing the beauty of the river in no time. The afternoon was amazing as we enjoyed kayaking for the first time, swimming with a bunch of new friends and hearing stories about the area and the river from Hite. I recommend Adventure Carolina and cant wait to take my next trip.
