Lisa was great! First time using this salon and she didnt know how stubborn my hair was, when we finished there was still a golden hue in my roots and she had me come back during the week for a free touch up to fix it. Shes pleasant, professional and the atmosphere of the salon is very easy going. Lisa sold me on making the switch to KJ & Kompany for my future hair needs!

Had my hair and makeup done for my wedding. Love love love my hair! My make up was pretty good, we were told hair and makeup would only take an hour and a half total for all myself and the bridesmaids and it ended up taking about two and half hours. There was some things I wish I could have changed about my makeup but didn’t have time. Other than that I was still pretty happy with everything.

Ive been going here for years. Angie the owner is very sweet. Yesterday I had Charlie do my hair. She did amazing. I have long thick hair and she got it very smooth! I love it! Definitely have to use her again.Ive always had good luck with almost of their stylists throughout the years.

Do not go here if youre looking to get a mens haircut. They did a terrible job on both myself and my buddy. Went in for a simple low fade and paid $40 including tip. They didnt wash my hair and didnt even wet my hair down when cutting it. Bangs turned out terrible and the fade in was very uneven and choppy. Me friends was messed up just as bad. A lot of spots missed. Definitely wont be going back.

I am absolutely disgusted with this place. Went in yesterday for a diagonal front haircut to be given by Marissa, and I came out with a botched haircut. I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone. I had to immediately find someone else to fix my hair as I had a wedding to attend to in couple hours.

I went into the experience very optimistic, wedding party events I know are a lot for those in this industry.My hairdo experience was stressful, but luckily another beautician stepped in to assist, the only downfall was my hair did not stay in place most of the night. The Bobbi pins were all showing and constantly popping out of place. I made them aware that my hair was very fine and didn’t hold the best, so styling was key. I’ve had my hair done MANY MANY times for wedding updos and this was one of the least comfortable hairdos I’ve experienced.Makeup went similar, I expressed what colors I prefered and the lady applying my makeup not once had me check in the mirror or show me color palette options. I even expressed who’s makeup I liked in our bridal party prior.I then ended up with a look I had to have her redo, which wasn’t something I would normally do.I then come to find out another makeup artist in the chair next to me was making fun of me to one of the other bridesmaids in my group staying “does she even know anything about makeup.” She also was making comments during my makeup process. I already had anxieties about this, and that made me more uncomfortable during this all. Then my eye lashes I had applied for an extra $20 were glued down to my bottom lashes, and barely connected towards the center of my eye.For the price and lack of professionalism I would not recommend.Other ladies in the party also said some of the other staff were rude and didn’t acknowledge what they requested, otherwise just did what they wanted. Just very upsetting as these services aren’t cheap. The staff that assisted me were very nice, but the services with too expensive for the quality recieved.

The Relaxing Facial was amazing! It truly was relaxing and my skin looked the best its ever looked. I highly recommend it.

I love this new location and feel like booking appointments is a breeze. Rasema is the best! Everyone is always very professional and I am actually a big fan of the less frills and add ons. I never feel pressured to get more than what I came for, but they do have nice spa services if you’re looking to pamper yourself.

TO ALL MY CURLY HAIRED LADIES with curl types 3A to 4c- THIS NOT THE PLACE! I went in to have my hair dyed a suttle navy blue over my existing natural color. I was told that my hair would have to be lifted so the color would take. I disagreed and say I never have had to have it lifted before. I felt uneasy but was assured I would get the look I wanted.First the lightener was not applied down to the scalp but rather brushed on haphazardly. The excuse was the heat from my head would draw down the lighter.It didn’t my hair had orange tips and a my natural color (dark brow) at the base. The color was added but inconsistently the whole front hair line was missed. My hair came out dark at the bottom but bright bluish green at the tips. I said to the stylist this is NOT what I wanted. I wanted it to be suttle. The stylist then add a dark brow color over it only making it look worse. Then she cut my hair way to short. I am assuming to try in hide the green tips. Now I am unable to do my hair in the style I had went I walked in.I had been there for almost two hours . When I reached my next location my mom said your hair is predominantly green. I was so mad I want back to get my money back. And after the owner (I believe) tried to get me back in a chair to “fix” it I finally got my refund.Lesson: if don’t let anyone touch your hair if they are not listening to you. Also ask how much experience they have working with mixed hair.

I had a facial by Morgan. She was very professional . Everyone was nice who I talked to. They showed me around the business I definitely will go back to their business.

I got my prom hair and makeup done and KJ Company. Then first had me do my hair which was very beautiful and didn’t take too long. The told me head that I would have to wait about a 15 break in between sections and I was ok with that. It ended up waiting a half hour and was not having it. As soon as I was called back she was still getting set up and waiting another 5 minutes in the chair. The women that did my makeup was either very new or had no clue what she was doing. She couldn’t get the airbrush working and the she was extremely slow. I asked for natural looking eyebrows and she drew them on very very dark from my hair which I was a blonde. I asked for eyeliner and she said she would make it wider if she wanted and she never asked she she gave me one line or eyeliner. She couldn’t get my lashes on and forgot mascara. She let me select my eye shadow colors and she blending them all together. I had many pictures of what I wanted and looked nothing like it. I was 30 minutes late to prom and reminded her many times I needed to be done at a certain time. After paying I went to my car and had to go back in to have her glue the inner corner of my lash on. My lashes later 2 hours and had to take them off because they were falling off. I was beyond upset and it was my only prom. Never again

Katie is a great hairdresser. They are always on time. You can make appointments online and the store is very clean and professional. It makes me feel comfortable getting my haircut during COVID.

Facility was beautiful and service was friendly, however I was getting ready to go to a wedding and the style I showed them and what I ended up with were not remotely alike and when I got home my husband thought it looked aweful. I know you can’t always get the exact picture but I feel like she made me look really old. I also got airbrush and again staff very nice but I was hoping for I little more coverage and it didn’t really cover my blemishes and was way too natural for a wedding.

I did Not get the bayaylage I expected for paying 175.00 of being my first time. They start at 70.00 which says on their website They have 5 level hair stylist which they will Not tell you or neither is it in their website . They have 5 level of stylist. I got level 5 which is the most expensive stylist and was never told that being my first time getting a bayaylage it would cost me 175.00! The prices are ridiculously too high priced for what you get .

I had several waxing services with Evira. She was kind, professional, and such a pleasant person to be around. I’ve never had better wax results!

One star, only because Sierra was a five star worker. Her work on my eyebrows was lovely and she was absolutely delightful! However, Lisa did my sister’s blue-colored hair and she was absolutely unprofessional. My mom and I sat by very uncomfortably while Lisa repetitively yanked my little sister‘s hair so hard that she was on the verge of tears, and she refused to give her a hair dry after hurrying/messing up the dye job simply so she could go home (she told us she didn’t have the professional time to do what my sister scheduled, but she was leaving as we were also leaving). She gave such poor service and left my 13 year old sister in tears after her very first salon appointment. I have never had such a poor salon experience.

My experience at this salon has been the best Ive ever had. Everyone was so friendly and very professional. My hairdresser, Rasema, did an amazing job fixing my previous cut and she was able to give me exactly what I asked for. I live in Ottumwa but visit Cedar Falls often and they will be the only place I go to from now on. Worth the time and money.

I love every time I go to KJ!! Not only the beststylists, bet is such a happy place!! Staff seem all get along well together. The kindness to each other and clients is so apparent. It’s a rare thing!!!

I was in with a wedding party a while ago. Yes, i was pleased with the hair/ makeup. BUT I was not pleased with the lack of social distancing/ masks. I saw many guests not wearing masks/ and not wearing masks properly. same with the staff!!! Considering we are in the middle of a pandemic, I was extremely uncomfortable to say the least.

KJ & Kompany is so awesome! My stylist knew exactly what I was looking for in a haircut, and I was chopping off several inches so I really didnt want to regret it! It was a little bit more pricey than I am used too but I was so happy with the results, I will definitely be going back.
