This place feels so Harry-Potter-esque! It is beautiful, and smells amazing. We each got a free chocolate sample when we approached the counter, and everything we tried was delectable! (We highly recommend the hot chocolate). Worth the hour drive from our town - only wish they delivered!

Very tasty chocolate and wonderful coffee

I was fortunate enough to taste gelato for the first time in Italy back in 2014, where I ended up eating it 2-3 times a day during my stay because I loved it so much. Since then, I’ve traveled across the country multiple times and even lived near LA (trying every gelato place I could find) but Stam’s is by FAR the best gelato I’ve found, and the closest you’ll ever get to the real thing.The location in Ames told me that this small, family-owned chain uses an Italian gelato machine and tries to keep their recipes as authentic as possible.I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but their chocolate is also phenomenal.At Stam’s you will find a charming quiet atmosphere, friendly service, and phenomenal gelato and chocolate for the price. I strongly recommend everyone, visitors and locals alike, to try it for themselves.

Seriously the best gelato Ive ever had and amazing chocolate selection. Youre able to sample gelato, and sometimes they give out free chocolate samples! Lisa Daily, is the owner, and very sweet and knowledgeable. Seating is available on comfortable, restored antique pieces that create a cozy and fun atmosphere. This place is a gem!!

I visited this place for the first time today to do some Christmas shopping and was very impressed. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and a very nice assortment and wide variety of tasty sweets to chose from and just overall a very pleasant environment to be in. If I could give them more the five stars I would, very impressed.

This is a great chocolate store with frozen treats as well. They put together a wonderful gift basket for our 32 anniversary. My wife loves the wine gummies. If you are looking for that unique gift or just some great chocolate check then out.

Great shop to have gelato, chocolates and coffee. Had some very unique gelato and bonbon flavors to choose from.

The atmosphere of this place is incredibly charming and the staff are always friendly and engaging. I highly recommend trying their gelato. The chocolate is definitely pricey, but it makes a great gift for family, friends, or yourself.

Came for the chocolate, but stayed for the gelato. Probably the best gelato youre going to find in Iowa. Going to be hard to go anywhere else when I need my cold desert fix.

Of course the chocolate is amazing...but the hidden gems here are the awesome drinks! Im a coffee fella, and it never disappoints! I even buy the beans for my french press at home!!!

Nice place with good quality

This place is a great place to get together with friends. The atmosphere is so nice and relaxing and the service is great. The gelato was really good but dont forget about their chocolates. (I wouldnt recommend the Cherry cordials though) all in all a great addition to our main Street

Awesome affogato. Their gelato is to die for. They do sell chocolate made with wine. So, the Muslim community should watch out. We try to hit this place at least once a month.
