My family lived down the road from here nearly 30 years ago. Fond memories walking down to the Kool Moo for ice cream or stopping on the walk home from the pool. Imagine my surprise to learn youre still in business all these years later.

Came around 4:40 on Monday. Asked for a strawberry sunday with extra strawberry, a cookie dough avalanche with extra cookie dough and a jr flavor burst cup.She said shed see what she could do awfully rude. There wasnt any extra strawberry or cookie dough. And when I grabbed the last napkin and asked for more she looked inside the napkin thing like I was lying and again had some type of bad attitude.Edit: after eating my entire avalanche i had one singular piece of cookie dough.

This place is awesome. From Florida up here visiting and it came up in a search. Def worth trying. DQ cant compare.

Love the cake batter frozen yogurt. And the banana. And the raspberry. I buy this by the pint when theyre the flavor of the month...oh man, I love Kool Moo... its so much cheaper and so much better than anything else around. Oh, and the staff is super helpful, too...if you dont know what you want or cant decide, ask the staff and theyll get you your next favorite flavor 👍

Service and selection are stupendous

My husband and I took our son here to get ice cream after the park, it was the perfect end to our afternoon before coming home. We each got a small shake/avalanche (the cups for these are the same size) and we barely finished them they were so filling. There were so many flavor options so we each got a different flavor. They were all amazing and for the price very well worth it. The woman making our ice cream and taking out order was an absolute sweet heart and she really helped to make the whole experience that much better. We will definitely be coming back now that we found this place. Im shocked no one had ever suggested this little spot.

Consistently amazing! I have been a customer for years and come back regularly for the ALWAYS great shakes & malts that are made with that same terrific taste every time. Ice cream chains have a lot to learn from this old fashioned gem Cedar Rapids is lucky to have.

Was excited to try a new ice cream place. Only 1 worker on a Friday night. huuuuuge line. The ice cream was ok, no better than fast food ice cream (I got the chocolate lovers sundae, chocolate ice cream), but the toppings were stale. I asked for a junior sundae in a specific flavor and the lady said that she couldnt make one that small. Then why not say that on your sign? The signs on the window were difficult to read and it was hard find specific things. Will not be going there again.

Friendly Service and good prices. I like this place for simple good old soft serve icecream with not too many frills and gimicks. They have more, but its the softserve done right that I like. Many may miss it since its in a nice quiet part of town and is old school outdoor ordering and outdoor seating. My wife and I go with our dogs as a special treat.

Terrible service. Great ice cream. I am 19 years old and went with my father, I have a slur and studder (Nothing to hard to understand). The older blonde woman with tight curls cut me off while ordering to ask my father what is she saying? Never even looked me in the eyes, as if I were 12. I gave up and she gave me the wrong thing because I wasnt going to deal with her not even trying to understand. Embarrassed me.

Have always loved going to the Kool Moo! Mary, the owner/operator is the best! She even has pup cups for our four legged kids!

We got four items, two of them tasted rancid, one of those two were wrong, and out of the other two, one tasted watered down to the point that it didnt even taste like its original flavour, and the last one tasted completely off. Its a fun expirence and location, but its gross. Maybe we just got super unlucky, but we had to throw two away because they practically tasted like it was 90% mold.

This is. The best in town check it out. Went there with my grand children and the lady that runs the place bent over backwards to make them happy and the ice cream was terrific you wont get that at a DQ at least I never have.

Worst service ever! I went there last night to get a slushy for a sick kid and was treated terribly!. There was one couple in front of me and the woman behind the window was talking to them about ragbrai. I assumed they were waiting for something to get done, but after a good 5 minutes they finally placed their order! Dont go there--maybe someone with an ounce of sense will take over...

Over 40 years serving ice cream treats. I use to go here in the early 80s with my grandmother and cousins, and thankfully I can still take my kids to get treats as well. My son loves the flavor burst frozen yogert, and i usually get a dipped cone. They also have the flavor of the week yogert. Cant wait for the 2016 season. Get a lot of ice cream for a low price. Note, they take cash only, which isnt all that bad considering you can still get an good twist cone for 1.50, the change most people have laying in thier tray in the car...which ihave have done a few times.

Ordered the ice cream sandwich and it was a brick when I bit into it and tasted like it sat in the freezer for months.

I went to kool moo today and it didn’t go so well my ice cream melted before I could get to the car not cause it was hot cause it’s rainy and cold but then my ice cream melted all over my hand by the time I got to the cone it was like I dropped paper in the ocean soggy and falling apart
