I have mixed feelings, and am signed up with a service plan with Watkins. They helped get an older furnace fixed over the 2020 winter. All the techs and receptionists Ive spoken to are friendly. Ive yet to hear from them to do our AC tune-up in the spring as they are to schedule this, its closing on end of May.Some history.... We paid roughly $1000 bucks to replace some furnace parts over winter, and they did service the same day. Although 32 days after another call was made to replace a part that was rated to low for our furnace setup. It was 2 days out of warranty and the part cost another 300 bucks. We cant turn the furnace up past 70 in the winter or the unit seems to struggle. We are also told not to use any filters. The furnace blows about 130 degrees Fahrenheit out of the closest vent. Which seems troublesome.Im sure I annoyed the tech with questions and I was watching him repair as I was genuinely curious. Our furnace is about 10 years old and we are told not to use filters any with it due to poor circulation in our vents (causing it to overheat). I have really bad allergies and wonder how healthy it is for the furnace itself, and me to run like this. We were using 2 but even with the 1 it seemed to struggle. Im trying to keep an open mind about the service and see if the parts keep failing that they replace. I gave Watkins 3 stars due to my last experience and the value for the 33 dollar monthly buy in program. Im unhappy with the level of communication about the unit and possible solutions. It seems like its always a filter issue. If I see no improvements over the next year on both service and quality of parts Ill update the review to match.Im also planning to have our vents looked at by another company, but wish this was a service Watkins could provide as part of a package plan especially if it would solve some issues. Overall Im a little disappointed but want to stay positive and hope this improves.
