Absolutely love this charming diner! Even when theyre slammed, they are still able to give you all their attention and make you feel at home. The staff is so friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. I love coming here.
Went for the first time and the food was soooo delicious!! Looks like an older house converted into a diner and was a bit crowded, tables are very close to each other, but it wasnt terrible. Service was good and prices werent bad, especially for the portion they give. Seemed to draw an older crowd lol but that is ok too! Definitely returning
I have a gluten allergy and they wouldn’t let me substitute the biscuit or toast that came with my meal for a cup of fruit or $1 banana. What ever happened to southern hospitality? Food was good but it’s not that challenging to make bacon, eggs, and hash browns. The service and warm vibe is what makes these diners special, and I didn’t feel that here.
The perfect diner! If you are looking for good old-fashioned American comfort food youll be in the right place here. Dont expect anything fancy. The country fried steak is to die for. They do a good job with their sides also. Did you know they film the Tonya Harding film here?
This is my secret getaway near work and I feel happy here! The Eggs Florentine, Eggs Benedict and gyro are all excellent. However my sweet potato fries this time were old, not freshly cooked and it showed. The staff is extremely friendly but the decor is rough and needs updating badly, inside and out. Still a great find, though, and I will continue coming here. I havent tried any of the delectable-looking desserts yet. :)
This place is just ok. Biscuits were dry Grits were cold...I could tell cause I asked for cheese grits and they just put shredded cheese on the bottom and top of the cup and none was melted. Bacon and pancakes were delicious tho. Cheap prices friendly service they also serve beer and wine. Comparable to waffle house but a little classier.
Great menu and great prices. Many food options that warm my part-Jewish heart. Definitely has the authentic diner vibe. My parents liked it so much they wanted to go back a second time on the same week they visited, and probably would have gone every morning.
Nothing fancy... but great inexpensive and tasty. Maria will take good care of you.
This place is cute and looks slightly old, but the food here is amazing. My husband and I visited this place a few weeks ago for breakfast and are hooked since. The service is great. Sometimes they get very busy, but the quality of food is not affected, nor is the service.
Best place for breakfast! The Lox and onion omlette is my favorite. My kids love the silver dollar pancakes. My husband loves the French toast. Morning wait staff is far superior to evening but weve never had a bad experience there. The food always comes out fast and delicious!!!
The environment is small, open and cozy. Service one would expect to be comfortable and welcoming. To my surprise no one was at the register for check out/ to go orders. So of course I waited until someone approached the register. Multiple employees walked past and dont mention GM, have you been helped? nothing. Waited, then ordered, then waited again. At that point service was gone. No one told me where to wait, no one asked me for water. Nothing waited over 20 minutes for my breakfast. Drove to work and I thought someone ate my food.! I waited for toast! I mean the sandwich was limp. I was very disappointed and never returned..
Not sure how the $12 and $8 meals plus two drinks added up to $33. But the food definitely wasnt worth the price. Service was satisfactory for the most part.
Delicious😁eating here will make your life better I promise. I have gone on countless family brunches here and it is amazing.
We go here regularly and are never disappointed. As with most diners, the menu is extensive, but has a strong Greek flavor. Its easy to get in and out with a nice meal. Weve done breakfast and dinner, but Im sure lunch would be good as well. All-you-can-eat catfish special Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Mexican favorites on Tuesdays.
Galaxy Diner closed effective January 2020. There is a note on the door indicating it will be moving to a new location, though it did not disclose where. Perhaps check their website for updates.
The food was good. Serve was almost average. Server couldn’t get my wife some pecans in a bowl told us not possible. We believe that threw her off. Because we never received any more coffee after getting food. Even after asking several times.
We go here for brunch on the weekends & never go anywhere else! Its your tried & true breakfast menu...always good & the service is great! Maria runs a tight & efficient diner.
Im a regular. Great place for breakfast. Good food at a fair price...
Live 1 mile and love all the selections .Sad to say they have sold the building and closed. Kroger behind is going to have a gas station so I think they need more spaceAndrea
I went there every morning for a week. The food is traditional diner date with a Greek twist: the gyro omelet is delicious. The place is old and it shows. The prices are low and the service is acceptable - attentive yet confused. Any request out of their routine will be met with polite acceptance and then ignored.I would recommend the place more strongly, but one of the servers was very rude and unpleasant due to a misunderstanding: relax, Maria - if the customer is concerned about his credit card going AWOL for 15 minutes you are not being accused of anything: just answer the question and all is well.
Good, Not GreatThis is a good place to go for a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. The food is good and the establishment is clean. I have not had a crazy delicious dish here. I have not had a bad dish either. It is an average diner.
Not bad. Water tasted kinda soapy. Food variety is good and tried several things and all were better than average. I’ll go back.
Came with my cousin on a random trip for breakfast. Cute, cozy diner, the staff was very nice. It seeemed they may have been a bit understaffed or the servers were new, but it’s no biggie. Took a minute to get our order taken BUT, the food was delicious. Our server was very sweet & I thinks it’s a great place for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat, share a cup of coffee. I’d come back for sure.
Good food good service, the people who work there are friendly and helpful. The prices are wonderful and not too expensive.
The food was amazing, and everything tasted home-made! Extremely friendly staff, and not a long wait for service at all despite the place being busy. Definitely going back!
One of a kind. Old fashion diner. Breakfast any time. Best Eggs Julius ever.
Best thing on the breakfast menu so far is the biscuits and gravy. The potatoes were a little dry, the eggs had acquired taste. Overall I give this place 3 stars for customer service and promptness of food delivery to the table.
The good: the staff is courteous and helpful. The bad: Everything is flavorless, and the grits, most tragically, are basically just water with specks. One would have to go out of ones way to make grits this bad. Essentially the whole menu is comprised of the very bottom caliber of ingredients. Even the bacon had little flavor. :(
Love this place. Good food. Good people. Great service
We go here often and get take out. The staff.is great. The menu is amazingly extensive. Good diner food and neighborhood atmosphere. Breakfast all day.
Delicious food! Lovely waitresses especially Maria shes the best. Recommend you try this place out you wont regret it.
Great service, friendly atmosphere, and true comfort food. You can really tell that youre eating fresh, home cooking. I will definitely be returning regularly.Portions are great and prices are reasonable.Their omelettes and milkshakes are a great deal.
I have been eating here since they opened back in the early 2000’s and have not had a bad meal yet. Tried the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich today. Excellent sandwich.
I went there during lunchtime because it was close to home, I had an itch for some spaghetti, and there was no other place that would scratch that itch within the 5-mile radius. Its got that 70-80s diner decor. Its fine. Nothing spectacular. It was clean and staff was attentive, but not your stereotypical diner-level friendly. Well, thats fine.Food was also fine. Note that Ive only got spaghetti with meatballs. It scratched the itch, but... well, there isnt anything more. Take that as what you will. Pasta wasnt completely drained by the time it got served. Meatball tasted like it was also used for meatloaf. The sauce was... eerily reminiscent of a certain store-bought brand, but Im struggling to remember which one it is.But it was cheap. It wasnt awful. It scratched the itch. Its not spectacular. It was I could make this at home probably better, but Im not cooking today and it would cost more for me to make this myself level.Gee, that sounds like every other restaurant in this area...If you would look at the menu here, theres entirely too many things on it. You would be sorely mistaken if you think they would do everything on the menu equally well, or even some things exemplary at all. So temper your expectations.
They have a lot of variety on their menu, including daily specials, but I love their all day breakfast! Big 8, Eggs Benedict, lots more. Prices are very reasonable, and service is always friendly without much wait. They even have a small selection of beers and a couple of house wines
Food was great. Price not bad for the portion sizes. I frequent this place and there is never an issue with the staff. They are always generally helpful and attentive to my needs while Im dinning.
OMG help me! I cannot stop eating there, the food and people are excellent here. A must try place. Go on and get ya some fine chow. NOW!
While I havent had the opportunity to taste all their dishes I can assure you that their 3 eggs omelettes are on point. They offer a good variety and their prices are good. Over all, I would recommend this place if you want to have a tasty breakfast.
LOVEEEEEE this place!! Very delicious down home comfort breakfast food! I highly recommend it 🙂
Good omlets, good atmosphere, usually friendly staff. Come after the waitress has her morning cigarette and the service is great.
I have been dining here since 1999! The food is good and the menu has a lot of variety. The service is good and they dont make you wait.
Pretty good but you can’t really mess up eggs and French toast. Old school family diner type. Nothing fancy. Would come back to try.
I dont know if it was it was because I took my food to go or what, but my Italian omelet was just okay, not as flavorful as I thought it would be given the fact that it had Italian sausage and marinara sauce. The home fried potatoes werent that good, literally just chopped boiled potatoes fried up no flavor at all, no seasonings. Was my 1st time here. I will give them another chance.
Good food. Great service. Priced right.
We had a really great meal. The matzoh ball soup was authentic, the lamb gyro was great. My husband had the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the sauce was amazing! It doesnt look like much from the outside, but the inside is nice and most importantly, the food was delicious and the service was attentive.
Honestly? Wasnt treated that well by hostess/management. Waitress was fine. Food was ok, but took a while (breakfast food), and was lukewarm at best. Im here on business, and I love diners, and Id be willing to try again, but I never felt like my patronage held even the smallest significance.
Great neighborhood diner. Breakfast served any time. Pastichio and Chopped Steak are amazing! Beer and wine very reasonable. Good desserts.
Have lived in the area 17 years and can walk to the diner. Wonderful family owned restaurant that never disappoints. Specials are always good, portions are HUGE and the price is excellent. Part of the neighborhood and we would be lost without our Galaxy Diner.
Its a great environment with the best staff. The positive energy compliment the wonderful entrees. Galaxy Diner has a down home feeling that I just cant get enough of.
Good service, great food! I was quite impressed and the portions were surprisingly well worth it, especially for price. Food was brought quickly and exactly as ordered. We will definitely be back :)
I ordered the Thursday lunch special (cod fish with fries) for $6.99. It was delicious! I also had a side of hushpuppies. No complaints. I will go back soon!!😃
Food was really good but service was only decent. Prices were reasonable but they do not offer military or veterans discount.
Such great food! They are the heart and soul of the Embry Hills community!
I love this place. Here weekly, delicious food and amazing staff. Feels like home when you get there :-))Love the place and people!
Food was good for its price. Just a little bland.Customer service was Awesome.
This diner is ok, nothing to get excited about. Ive been here a few times and out of those times the food was only really good once. The service is not consistent as some of the staff acts as if they are miserable and wanting to be elsewhere - kind of make me feel like an unwelcome house guest. My boyfriend and I came here a couple weeks ago for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the staff was over whelmed, tables dirty, some of the staff were nice, some were just going through the motions and ready to leave, in my opinion. Today, I ordered an omelette for lunch for pick up and only asked for NO onions. Of course I received onions. Potatoes (what they call home fries) has NO seasoning. Of course I got two little packs of salt in my bag. When I picked up my food, I paid for it and asked the guy at the register where my food was. He said its right there and looked at a table behind me in the dining area.. OK, but how was I supposed to know this? Isnt it normal for hosts to give you your food when you pay? Why did he act as if I was an idiot because I didnt look around for my food? I may sound a bit picky, but I cant help it. This place isnt bad at all, theres at least two employees there that are consistent with their attitudes and service. However, Im tired of disappointments and there are too many places to order food from in the area to settle. I guess Ill give this omelette to someone who can eat onions and see if anyone in the office has black pepper and more salt.............
Great service, pretty good food.
Good food and a great place to meet and talk with friends.
Excellent food amazing service food taste home cooked staff is very friendly. Best server is Sabrea. Ask for her next time you visit
Great place for breakfast, the menu is extensive, good service
Been going here for YEARS! Its one of the best kept locals secret in the Atlanta area IMHO! Family-run, great service and food, and FULL menu!
Old school diner with good and cheap hearty meals located right by the embry hills shopping center.
Some of the best food I’ve had in Atlanta! This place rocks especially when you go on Wednesday afternoon and have their lasagna oh my God help me.....
Always a friendly experience and the food is always cooked fresh.
Theyre always nice food is great weve been going there for years
Extremely friendly staff & amazing service! Food is always good. Love going there for breakfast. My favorite is Galaxy omelet.
My husband & I decided to try Galaxy for breakfast because everytime we pass by it the parking lot is full.(a good sign!) We werent disappointed! Has a 80s diner vibe. Nothing fancy but excellent food and reasonable prices! They have a large selection for breakfast and trust me, you will leave FULL! The service was A-1 too! I forgot our servers name but she was fabulous! Most places are so busy, everyone rushing, but she made it to our table several times to make sure we didnt need anything. Highly reccomend for a tasty breakfast/brunch!
Very old timey, country feel while being so close to the city. Its almost like time passes over you here. You get the chance to slow down. Love Galaxy Diner!
Good service, cool little car show, excellent food esp the Napoleon Sat night special (huge meal, Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon stuffed w/spinach & cheese). Great prices too. Lots to choose from. Came for the car show went back for the food & car show and it was awesome then too.
Great food at a great price. All day breakfast and great sandwiches at lunch.
Excellent breakfast for a great price
A popular locals hangout, this is my comfort food eatery place. My favorite value meal is the Greek combo. Love the Coconut Pecan Cookies!
A great diner with fabulous all-day breakfast entrées! Love the Saturday Steak Night! A very convivial environment with a friendly crew. Many happy memories were made here!
Awesome. Family atmosphere. Staff appreciates their customers. Food great.
Food delicious, service acceptable, surroundings a tad shabby.
Foods good. People are nice. Nice place to go.
A real family owned diner. Wonderful meals!Reasonable prices.
Good food at very reasonable prices.
**This review is for their breakfast only** As many reviewers have mentioned there is an old-timey feel about this place. Some will find that comforting...others may not. All my family has really ever eaten here is breakfast. Their prices for breakfast are really good...eg. The 8 Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausage & 2 pieces of bacon = $4.99 (before 11AM... $1 more after 11 AM). Thats pretty remarkable in my opinion. I have not tried any other entrees but if I do I will update this review.
We had a lasagna with a meatball with Greek salad and a gyro platter. The meatball was the worse thing I have ever put in my mouth. Sauce is terrible. The tzaski sauce tasted like ranch. Service was slow, but staff was friendly. Prices are definitely reasonable.
Great Food good Customer Services
Great diner with a diverse menu so anyone can find something they love!
Nice way to kill time. My waiter was ok. The food was ok. I was expecting great for a hole in the wall place...
I love their chicken salad even if might not be made from scratch.
I felt very uncomfortable here I had to walk out. The waitress was very rude we were told to hurry up n order just ur drinks I have other tables b4 u to take care of. We were sat wayy in the back but bathroom. This place service was horrible they only make to tend to the their white customer Friendly n very rude to the black customers. It was another black lady there too she was in agreeance about service which spark for us to leave after speaking with her.
Seriously. How does anyone say anything bad about this place? The bad reviews, are yall just disgruntled former employees who got fired because you no-called, no-showed, or showed up drunk or high or something, and now youre all mad? Yall are crazy!Anyway, biscuits & gravy are some of the best Ive had, and the Greek omelet is my favorite. And the service is great too!
Decent portions and friendly staff makes this place stand out. Not too crowded on the weekends, one of the better places to have breakfast in the area.
Great chicken salad! Decent service.
Best omelettes and waffles in town. Great service and a family-owned diner.
Good diner atmosphere. Food was good.
Good for what it is. Diner food, diner atmosphere.
Omg...the best anytime breakfast...they even have s.o.s...shitonashingle
Every dish is great never disappoints.
Food is always great here, love the burgers, breakfast, soup and gyro plate
Great food. Very prompt service
I LOVE this place. I took a coworker who has not been there previously and she loves it and has visited several times since.
Awesome, family-owned neighborhood diner. Busy Sunday brunch and totally worth the wait.
