Love on campus Target’s. Great idea Target. Walking distance to the dorms & apartments. Stocks what you need for college love and if they don’t have it, have it shipped to the store.
I am a bit biased since I am a Tar Heel and only wished we had the amenities current students have now but I like the idea and execution of the store. The store is nice and people were very helpful. Not too much in the store but head the essentials needed to get by on campus. Prices werent that bad either. I definitely recommend
I live in Greensboro, but my son was transported to UNC Hospital during the weekend. We needed to pick up a few items for him prior to him being released. I did a Google search for the nearest Target and was skeptical because of the location of this particular store. To my surprise, I was able to park right in front of the store. The store is smaller than the typical stores, but serves its purpose. I was able to get the items needed as well as some other things. My only complaint is that I spent too much money! 😁
This Target is the size of a CVS right in the center of the Chapel Hill shopping district. They focus on mostly supplies for college dorms, such as food, swag, electronics (including a huge supply of ink cartridges), pillows, cosmetics, greeting cards, pharmaceuticals, cleaning supplies, dishes, and the like. They definitely have a good enough assortment and the usual Target quality and pricing. This location also includes the usual CVS pharmacy and Starbucks cafe. Its kind of wierd to have exterior windows on the isles, but a pleasant improvement. Dont forget they price match any major retailer including Amazon.
The new, smaller Target opened today (July 19, 2017) on Franklin St in Chapel Hill (Carolina Square) It was their soft opening so there werent crowds of people. This really is a very condensed version of the Target Superstores, & doesnt stock a lot of inventory. Its probably fine for someone running into the store if theyve run out of something - but just like a gas stations mini-market does not have the choice of a supermarket, this smaller Target does not have the choice or scope of a Target Superstore. Some new students coming for the fall semester MAY shop for a few things at this new, smaller Target, but Im sure that if they need to get many things, they will continue to go to a Target Superstore instead of this one. I walked down every aisle in this new, smaller Target & found that there were many things that they did not carry - & certainly not in comparison to a Super Target. My GREATEST hope is that Carolina Square provides lots & lots of parking availability, which is so sadly lacking in Chapel Hill. Otherwise, when all the shops & offices in this complex fully open, parking will be a nightmare! As of today, the parking deck that Carolina Square plans to have is not yet open, so I had to find street parking.
If Target had a baby and sent it to college, this is what it would look like! Parking sucks until the Yuppie apartments upstairs and their garage opens, so you better walk here. I did! Want fresh fruit. Check. Got the munchies. Check. Need cheap protein. Check. Need a UNC T shirt (doesnt everybody?!?) Check. Need a Duke T shirt. Nope. Sad! Need a bottle of cheap red wine. Check. Im in. You should be too.
You can find everything you want it and with a good price.
Sometimes prices are higher (by $0.50 to $1.00) and variety is limited, but this is a good location to find the good candy discounted after holidays and if you just dont want to go to the Durham stores. I just found toilet paper here for the first time since the end of March 2020. It was Angel Soft brand.
Starbucks here is not good 2 bad experiences bad drinks and then being dirty. The dude was touching his phone and then making our drinks. Then I tried asking him to wash his hands but since he had headphones in he didnt hear me or ignored me .... the target is not bad just small can get crowded
Don’t put up sale tags early you can’t honor. I won’t come back to buy it on sale tomorrow, I’ll get it somewhere else.
Small college store with a variety of essential and convenient goods. Campus was a food desert before this store. Yeah, prices are higher, but thats why you use the Target app deals and price match!
I really like coming to target, especially the one in Chapel Hill North Carolina. Even though I find at times that the inventory is lacking, that is due to it being a much smaller store. However, I really like the neighborhood feel of this Target and really hope that Target starts making more stores like this one.
The cleanliness of the store is one reason. The store is very well organized. The staff are extremely customer friendly. The price could be better but...
This is a nice Target store, but very small and felt a bit cramped (like a nice looking pharmacy). It is a nice location for students, or folks that may want to get a few needed items, but nothing in comparison to the big stores. Parking is right across and spacious. Although Ill still be going to the bigger Target, this small, more condensed version of the store is a great addition to the area.
The team members here were extremely helpful and kind.
Very neat and clean store in Chapel Hill NC. Not sure why but my in store purchase was more then if I were to order the same item and pickup at the store.
The Franklin Street Target is situated in an extremely convenient location, but its probably the smallest Target Ive ever seen. Its clearly targeted (ha!) at UNC students, with lots of dorm room items and some basic groceries and tech products. Not a good spot for extensive shopping.
Ok service but great selection of things!
Great micro Target ...would be great if they had bras and undies that arent dental floss!!! There are more than college kids here. .... but very clean and neat the employee in the small electronics dept was very helpful and personable.
Not a full Target store but a reduced size, reduced offering mini-Target. Convenient but limited scope of products.
Very surprised to find this Target mini. I live in Durham, and neither of the locations there had anymore copies of the Black Panther Blu-ray filmmakers edition. This location has plenty of them!! Well worth the 20 minute drive! Parking is on the 1st level of the Chapel Hill Square Apartments parking garage, next door. Free for the first 45 minutes. Sweet!
Come here if you like to be followed by the security guard the entire time. Had to explain to the kids the reasoning behind it.
Not very pleased by the customer service! Especially for returning items, they are not very happy to accept returns, One employee even mentioned to me that I should go to the same target where I originally bought from to return. That is the first time I ever heard from any big chain store. I think the advantage of buying from a big chain store is a customer service. And this target probably doesnt get that point.
Staff lied about hours. They say they will be open until 10pm, but they close early without telling anyone on their website or even on their front door. They just lock the door whenever they fell like it. Pre covid hours were until 11pm, and now its advertised as 10pm, but the close at 8:30 pm without telling anyone.
Employees were very helpful and kind. It is a smaller Target, but it has just enough for the typical college student who needs a few things.
The environment and inventory of the store is more detailed than I expected which is good. So Id say this a good addition to Chapel Hills downtown area.
There is always a good variety of products and the prices are very competitive with other stores.
Great location for those quick and last minute needs. Good selection of Carolina Memorabilia, which means more affordable shirts!
Excellent addition to Franklin Street. You can park in the new garage behind Target - first 45 minutes free.
DO NOT come here if you have a return. Parking is across the street and there are no carts. Drove around for 20 minutes and never found a parking spot. Will never come back to this location.
I really like this store, need more help with customer service.
Great staff! Helped alot
A mini-Target focussed on student needs. Very clean and orderly.
Great place to shop if you like higher prices and rude employees.
Convenient and a good selection of clothes, homewares and food, but even more overpriced than expected
Always friendly staff, clean and tidy and for being small still has a lot of great stuff! And the Starbucks is a bonus
Very helpful staff and very well laid out store. Large selectionour items ad well
Good sales, promotions, and savings.
Friendly, helpful staff!
Construction around the corner. Was asked (are you here to got to the rest room) not good.
Lots of self service check out lines. Parking lot is not typical, given this target is downtown chapel hill
I was in and out of the store in 7 min flat.
If you want advertised prices you need to check your receipt before you leave and have customer service credit you the difference.
