Down to earth atmosphere and pleasant place to shop. Staff was friendly with quick service.

A vinyl record store that has a 70 ish hippie style decor and been a establishment for over 30 years (or more in Kanawha City).They carry not only records, there is tapes, bohemian clothes,a adult section, lighters,pipes, jewelry, sandals,oils,tapestries, band t-shirts and many other items to choose from.It’s a wonderful and unique shop that you must visit if your in West Virginia there are not many like this around.

Rude as hell. So many products but they dont want to let you look. Lady was putting stuff in my hand no clue what I was looking for..couldnt tell if I was being rushed or considered a thief so I tried walking with my hands behind my back to demonstrate I had no intentions of stealing but the same lady kept acting like she knew what I wanted and tried to rush me along. Its been awhile since Ive shopped here. I guess not long enough.

My favorite place to visit when I come down from Salem wv. John and his fantastic staff always make my visit enjoyable. And my first place to shop each month.

I realize that being located in an area such as Kanawha City you’ve probably had to deal with a plethora of unsavory characters, however this area is becoming way too saturated with smoke shops to continue to give my money to an all in all overpriced business who regularly treats their recurring customers like garbage. This place doesn’t give you the “cool man light and breezy good vibe” like you would expect or desire from the type of atmosphere they try so desperately to achieve. They’ve recently updated and smacked $30 price tags on lack luster “boho” style items I’m sure they’ve ordered in bulk for a fraction of what they’re charging. At this point I would be so much more likely to attempt rolling up with hair collected in my shower drain than to continue to support or purchase supplies here. If the owner ever was laid back and cool it’s long since dissolved into unfriendly, unwelcoming, bitterness. Good luck with making it another 50 years, it certainly won’t be built off my dime. ✌🏻

Budget has been one of my favorite stores for years now, I often come in to buy incense and other cool things. The staff are friendly and super cool and so is the manager. I definitely give this place a 10/10, everything is way worth the money, great quality and everything. :)

This is a special place to many people spanning generations of music and cool-culture lovers. A selection of music, curated carefully for its customers, is available on disc and vinyl. Incense, glass, cigars, and adult novelties round out the always interesting inventory. The best part is the proprietor, John. John has been there since the beginning. The owner now - he recognizes his customers no matter how long its been since theyve been there - and he always has something waiting for them. Ive been turned on to music I wouldnt otherwise have known existed. Love Budget.

Love it. Great selection of random unique gifts for 15years old - 109 years old and/or plenty of goodies to treat yourself. I always buy my incense here. Prices are also very reasonable. SHOP MOM AND POP!

I have been going here since it opened in the 70s. Best record store ever.

Very frustrated I asked for an item in the adult section and am very shy and quiet. They gave me the wrong item and when I said I dont think this is it the clerk reassured me it was and gave me a total. I paid bc I didnt know what to do. I walked out to my car and then directly back in to tell them it was not the item and showed them what I wanted. They gave me another total and asked me to pay refused to exchange even tho it was still taped closed and in the brown paper bag stapled i refused to make another purchase since they told me they wouldnt make the mistake right and i recommend no one go here especially shy and quiet people like me. The are con artists and screwed me out of 70 dollars. My big called them to speak to the manager and he was zero help wouldnt give the owners number or give even a discount or gift card to make up for any of the mistakes I as well as several ppl I know will no longer be returning to this store full of car salesmen and con artists.
