I visited this location in a bit of a panic. I was in Charleston to help my son who was moving away after Navy training get his stuff home and found out that there was more stuff than anticipated.I went to the store as I saw that they were a reseller of Yakima accessories that may work with my truck to allow me to add some storage spaces to my vehicle. I talked to a few associates and they recommended I speak with the store manager, Danny.Danny came to talk to me and asked about my needs. He was very attentive had some ideas on how to address my issues but was unsure about stock of the items required. He spent a good deal of time calling stores and checking inventories to identify how he could help me cobble something together in my last-minute attempt to come up with a solution. He found all the items that I needed between his store and one other store.I was able to purchase all the items from his store, run over to the other store to get the rest of the items, bring them back to Danny and he installed them himself. He did a very good job of installing the accessories and explaining to me how to use them. He was very professional and friendly.I highly recommend going to this location of Half-Moon Outfitters for any of your outdoor needs! I am confident that they will take care of you!

Dang! I wish there were more stars to give! Such a great experience at Half Moon West Ashley! When you go, ask for Sam! He was very knowledgeable, helpful, honest, welcoming, and he was able to answer all of my many questions (he’s also full of puns and jokes which made shopping so much more fun!!). So, if you need some new gear or just need a good laugh, stop by the shop and ask for Sam .. you’ll be so glad you did!

I love this place! But more than all the backpacking gear, surfboards and climbing equipment are the employees. Especially Sam! He’s the most friendly human I have ever met. I promise, if you get a chance to say hey to him, I would recommend it! He’s down to earth and very helpful!

I absolutely love the atmosphere at Half-Moon outfitters. It is very relaxing and casual and the employees always go out of their way to help me. One employee in particular, Sam, was the nicest person that I’ve ever met. He knew exactly where everything was and he was such a genuinely kind human being. That man deserves a raise!

Never have I ever been treated so well in an outdoor store. As a Black and outdoorsy person I have had more than my share of people following me around stores for all the wrong reasons. I cannot speak on behalf of the other locations but at this location me and my partner were kindly greeted by multiple people, left to wander as we pleased, and when we were ready for help the multiple team members went above and beyond my expectations to give tips and recommendations on gear -- and even recommendations on what other stores I can check out for cycling gear since they didnt carry some of what I was looking for. Ill definitely be back again.

This location has everything I needed and the employees are especially helpful and knowledgeable, particularly Sam. He was incredibly welcoming and was able to offer suggestions/alternatives and great jokes! Keep it up Sam! I’ll be back!

Half-Moon Outfitters in West Ashley is one of my favorite places to shop for outdoor clothing and gear. Just walking in here inspires me to become more active and get out in nature. I am always impressed in the wide selection and variety of different items they have available. I seem to always walk out with more than one purchase and this is also a reliable place to find a good gift item for someone that is on my shopping list. The climbing wall inside the store is always fun to take part in. The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable and seem to always be available to help and answer questions. This store has been consistent in delivering a quality shopping experience over the years.

Great gear from typical brands but also others like Howler Brothers, Mystery Ranch, Free Fly and Johnnie O. Super nice staff too. They havr a great selection of gear. The climbing wall looks so fun. It is not big but convenient for weeknight grip workouts and some quick route practice. Will be going much more often.
