The Scotchman and its previous iterations as Little Cricket and other names is a true convenience store in the heart of historic Charleston. There are not too many other quick spots to get drinks and snacks at good prices in a wide radius of the Scotchman and it is open late to serve your needs when you are out and are in need. This place has saved many a night and has come to the rescue and is truly appreciated. They have a wide variety of different beverage options and it is easy to get what you need and be on your way. The store is always clean and well stocked and the staff here is always friendly and cool and keeps things moving. I hope the Scotchman will be around forever and resist the temptation to turn into a hotel.

The thing that really makes this store bad is lunch time its the worst time cause only 1 girl be on the register the other no where to be found or in the back on the phone. Today the line was to the back of the store. If they could work together to get people in and out then take a break that would be awesome. Its near by a good place to buy but the inconvenience stands out more then a convenience store. Its saddening.

Don’t nobody talk bad on this place, always kind people working and they have the good ramen

Gas pumps are often out of order, which would be somewhat acceptable if customer service weren’t severely lacking. Food is often expired or out of stock. Excessive loitering makes it difficult to sort through where the lengthy lines begin and end. There are at least three other gas stations on the peninsula that are much more worthy of your time and money.

This store has the rudest customer service I have ever had. I felt discriminated and ask for corporate phone number and was denied to receive it. I don’t recommend to Convenient store to anyone.

My family Is visiting Charleston and we went into this store last night, 7/10/19, to get some snacks drinks after a ghost tour. My sweet 71-year-old dad was paying and counting his bills on the counter to the clerk, who was wearing her bright blue headphones and singing. She couldn’t even hear him when he asked to tell him the total again. She told him he needed to hand her his money, not put it on the counter as she held out her hand. Let’s just say we will not visit this store EVER again and maybe the clerk needs to find a job where she doesn’t have to communicate with people! I would give ZERO stars if I could!

They do not have gas pumps, their listing is incorrect. I love Scotchman stores, but this one does not have gas.

I used to shop at Scotchman on State but not anymore. I was waiting patiently in line behind a customer that was paying for a money order. This took severalminutes. When a Scotchman associate finally opened another register, she took acustomer behind me. I am not impressed with her customer service. She needs to be more efficient and aware of her customers instead of being in her own world. I have seen this same female associate on her phone when she should be attending to her customers. If I can avoid going there again, I will.

Very nasty and rude..... because they had an item priced wrong. The manager which is a Male white guy was just as rude as the cashier Rachel. Terrible service for many people to be traveling from out of town and receiving this type of service.

Staff was polite, prices were reasonable, service was fast!

The head store manager Denise with the hair wrap on her head has very bad and rude customer service. 1st of all how can you be a manger and you have on a sleeping bonnet on your head at work everyday ..thats very unprofessional and ghetto.She is very nasty and rude to all of the customer every time I come in there. She needs to be REPLACED with a REAL manger who understands good customer service. She has no clue of how to treat a customer! She diplays Worst customer service avoid going there if possible until she is replaced !

Food on the shelves is almost always expired or not stocked. Coffee is ALWAYS gone. Most of the staff is rude. Lines are ridiculous in the morning and they only have one register open....it seems to be the local gathering place for loitering too...I cant ever go there without getting hit up for money or a cigarette in the parking lot. It appeared that changes were being made for a few weeks and then, it went right back to business as usual. Unless its the closest convenience, I would find another place to go for your morning coffee run.

Worst service ever. Man in front of me ask for something, the cashier says to him “do you see it up there”, he looks and says no and she says “well then”. He leaves stunned. I pay for my order in cash and she scolds me for not putting the money in her hand. I will never grace those doors again!

2 months I waited and still down right rude.The entire building I work in has now boycotted this store. They are the worst always on cell phones drinks never work and cashiers are down right rude.

They close the store when it is convenient for them and how the police drive up immediately open it and for some reason ask you to pay in cash all the time?
