Very busy lots of flavors to choose from, the flavored waffle cones are a new one for me...I got the pistachio...very tasty, friendly staff, quick service
Not at all gelato, its ok soft serve. Lacks rich gelato flavor and freshness. The dutch pancakes are yummy and warm, and probably good with toppings. High prices for serving sizes and lack of flavor...this place has the perfect placement and potential, I hope they rethink their ingredients and quality and do well.
Great staff and delicious treats. Very enjoyable experience
We had salted caramel and chocolate. It was delicious!! The ice cream was nice and soft and supper tasty!! The waffle cone was available in several different flavors like birthday cake and lavender! The lady behind the counter was swamped but still had great customer service! Thank you!
I ordered the chocolate hazelnut gelato, it was very grainy and tasted more like a slushy. Gelato should be very smooth and creamy. Very disappointing and definitely too expensive considering the lack of ingredients. The only good thing was the topping (hazelnut crunch).
Small, simple, delicious. Great stop for coffee and treat for the park. Next time Im making a gelato cookie sandwich. Ha
We were so disappointed! This is NOT gelato. It’s bland, overpriced soft serve at best.
Excellent gelato and espresso right by the ocean. You can enjoy your gelato, coffee, or both while taking it picturesque views of the ocean and Joe Riley Waterfront Park, which received the 2007 Landmark Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Best place to go for sweet treat in Charleston downtown area. They have good variety of flavours but my favorite Belgium chocolate Gelato.Very small place so just grab and go.
I went here thinking it was Gelato the ice cream was very soft and nasty I got a chocolate cup it was poor quality not like before when me and my husband visited we came from Florida will not attend again I did hear the girl say oh wow this ice cream is coming out soft and wrong I should of never bought it not cool😡😡😡😡
Visited this place four times during my stay! Just a bit pricey- 4.75 for one scoop and 5.75 for two scoops. You can split a scoop between two flavors. Pictured here is a double scoop- chocolate peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut. The chocolate hazelnut was my favorite and I also had it once combined with salted caramel. Pistachio, coffee stracciatella, and seasonal key lime pie were also good.
Stay away if you can! Been to this place two times in the last couple of months. The gelato is nothing special to say the least. EVERYTHING IS WAY OVER PRICED for the quality they offer. Also they added additional items on our order... I wonder how often this happens....
As much as the espresso is just OK..ice cream..simply awful..
Wow. It was great. Very friendly workers. Will definitely go back again
Good enough, pancakes a nice and affordable but I had to throw my chai tea away after a sip so wasnt the biggest fan
They call it gelato??? This is the worst “gelato”/ ice cream I ever had in my life!!!
This was a great place to grab a quick bite. We had a little bit of everything and it was all good.
This is definitely a place you want to visit if you are ever in downtown Charleston.
One of the best desert spots in Charleston. A great place to grab a Gelato before a nice walk along the water.
The gelato is awesome, waffle cones are pretty good. Only down side is very pricey ($17 for a single and a double scoop).
AMAZING GELATO!!!! Very expensive (a single scoop kids cup and a regular double scoop cup were $12) but delicious!
Amazing ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised with coffee stracciatella
Good but pricey
Was very surprised. It was great with friendly service
Delicious treats on a hot day 😋
Such a great spot to enjoy a treat while you are in Charleston!
Amazing flavors and quick service.
The chocolate ice cream tasted really bad and the salted caramel was better but still didnt like the flavor. The prices are really high for the quality of the ice cream.
Been here quite a few times since we are locals and fish the waterfront park pier almost daily. My girlfriend loves the Gelato and I really like it as well. She had the Mint Straciatella and chocolate hazelnut gelato this time, it was great! Everytime we have bought beverages here though it has been a dissapointment and is not worth the money to us. We paid over $4.00 for a sample cup size Hot chocolate and it tasted like watered down milk, so did the hazelnut mocha coffee. I went back to ask if they could do something about the drinks and she added more of the syrup mix, which didnt help at all. I did not want to say anything again because she was the only person working and had almost a 10 person line the whole time. Thank you for being a hard worker and sticking it out! I dont know if that had something to do with the preparation of my drink but I will not be back and wont be recomending anyone.
Amazing desserts well worth the wait
I love the ice cream i always get vanilla and my baby chocolate. They have purple and pink cones so cool.
We got the mini pancakes and the espresso/gelato drink and cant wait to come back to SC to get it again! The owner was super sweet and her staff were kind as well. Highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth or just love things that taste amazing!!!
Excellent gelato. Friendly staff.
Great ice cream eam; try the lemon sorbet with the chocolate. Cones are not worth the extra $2.
The gelato is delicious and staff is great!!
Belgian Gelato is an awesome solution on a hot day. Being close to Charleston Waterfront Park is a good location to get something cold and then bring it to the park. Everything here is delicious, flavorful, and tasty. The staff here is great and welcoming.
Perfect for our night time stroll. $$ I had the salted caramel on a vanilla cone. Yumm
Delicious pistachio and hazel nut gelato. Great location and friendly staff.
They were so nice and the Gelato was delicious!! Treat yourself!!!!
The donuts are delicious and when paired with a shake it is just that much better. The staff is friendly. It did take a little while to get our food because there was only one person working but we didn’t mind the wait
Got salted caramel and a pistachio flavored ice cream. Both tasted very artificial and left a bad aftertaste. Not a fan.
Belgian chocolate with hazelnuts is delicious. So are the little powdered pancakes!
Belgian Gelato has one of the most convenient locations downtown. You can grab a cone or cup and walk right out to Waterfront Park to enjoy it. Seems like it should set the perfect stage for incredible gelato right??I thought the same thing until I ordered the Belgian Chocolate Extreme gelato in a cup, which costs $6 btw, and she walked over to a soft serve machine and spit a swirl of light brown, chocolate whipped cream into my cup.Gelato is supposed to be thick, bursting with flavor, and creamy like no regular ice cream can be but this stuff just lacked in every aspect. It was very creamy but almost to the point where it seemed whipped, it was not thick at all. The flavor was very light chocolate, I definitely wouldnt have called it chocolate extreme. It tasted most like cocoa powder than any real chocolate.Lets be honest... End of the day, I finished the entire thing because its still ice cream and Ive never met an ice cream I didnt like, but come on Belgian Gelato. Theres way too much competition downtown to be serving low quality ice cream. I would have been happier with Turkey Hill from Publix. Gelato out of a soft serve machine?? Seriously?
Expensive, but Yummy!!
Not a fan.
Great tasting Gelato!!
Very nice gelato
Not worth the $8 per scoop with a cone
Absolutely delicious!
Too expensive
Good stuff
Really not worth going there. The ice cream is absolutely mediocre and lacks its own signature. A small soft ice cream costs almost 7 dollars. The waitress is not on her toes and lists to music loudly. No friendliness, could also be a robot. You can eat the poffertjes with a magnifying glass. 6 pieces for almost 5 dollars are completely overpriced. Can you really save yourself. Vegan ice cream is not very good
