They have many great sweets like pastries, macarons, gelato, and fine chocolates. I really like the chocolates, they remind me of the chocolates that used to be available at 7th Street public market. Whenever I have people visit me from out of town I try to bring them here. They have a great atmosphere and great food.

My breakfast from Bar Cocoa was outstanding! They made a simple bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin taste as exquisite as the desserts. The coffee was among the best quality Ive ever tasted, and the price point was super reasonable.

This place is a grown ups candy store. Its delicious blends of coffee and decadent pastries and hand crafted confections will open your eyes wide and have you salivating at all the brightly colored goodies. Simple as cookies or as complex as the exotic chocolates that color your taste buds a rainbow of sweetness. I stumbled upon it uptown now I purposely seek it out. Its a guilty pleasure paradise. Awesome Eats!

A bit expensive but worth it for a splurge session! Omg, the coconut cake is to die for! Macaroons delish! Truffles! Customer service is on point! Ariel, the barista was great, so was the manager who was serving at night...ugh, yes...I went twice!! Lol!

Bar cocoa is a dessert cafe that is situated by the Ritz Carlton. I ordered a Brown Butter raspberry tart that was a tad bit dry, like its been sitting there all day (which it probably was), and the Ritz Chocolate cake which was dense and fudgy. They have outside seating, with only 2 tables and 2 inside. My advice is to get your pastries and walk the extra block to the epicentre and people watch there.

I love this place. It’s a good place to treat yourself just make sure you’re ready to splurge on some calories. Their gelato is so good and every intricate dessert they have which comes with a price of about $6-7 per dessert. Totally recommend for dessert

The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and offerings. I paid almost $5 for a small hot chocolate, but it was probably the best hot chocolate that I have ever had. The whipped cream was definitely REAL whipped cream, not the foamy milk that some other establishments use. I have not tried their desserts yet, but I hope to in the very near future!

I had heard such good things about the desserts here so we decided to stop here one night after a show.Im not sure if I didnt order right, but I wasnt very impressed. I got a few different macarons and a strawberry balsamic eclair. My husband went for gelato.All of mine was just ok. My husband said he liked the gelato. The prices are a little pricey which I was expecting.I might come back to give it a second chance, but after my first time there, there are other bakeries in Charlotte I prefer over this.

This place is neat, though the baked goods are so-so. The gluten-free brownie had an odd aftertaste. The glutenphiles in my group were meh over their macarons and chocolate chip cookie. Its more of an experience than a treat.

Small, cozy dessert shop with limited options and niche taste. I wanted some ice cream here, but they had a very small selection (about 6-8 flavours) with sorbets and seasonal flavoured ice cream. Wasnt my taste so I left empty handed. And because its associated with the Ritz Carlton the prices are expensive. Not my style, but the food looked cute.

Best chocolate place Ive been to in longer than I can remember. Their signature dessert was so good we went back the next morning and bought two more to take home and share with the family. Also loved their big chocolate chip cookies! Definitely a great deal and delicious.

The Bar Cocoa is a cool coffee house with an interesting interior design and challenging seating, including a multilevel platform (for reclining?), small tables with squat chairs, and a community table with backless stools. Lots of intriguing coffee drinks. Sandwiches with a choice of tater tots or chips, are made by the hotel restaurant so there is a bit of a wait. Sandwich was good, generous but was deli turkey not the fresh roasted as advertised. Quite a bit of paper packaging for eat-in. They should ask whether eating in or taking out. I’d go back for coffee, not lunch.

Atmosphere is relaxing with amazing cocktails and dessert treats for all to enjoy. The staff is very friendly, however you will end up waiting a bit for service to take your orders. We had several different types of desserts for our group of 8 that stopped in prior to attending the Broadway show Cats.

Such amazing and delicious desserts—coconut based, peanut 🥜 cookies —my spouse is sweet tooth and I have a high threshold for great taste; Perfectly made and moist even at 4:00 pm. Will definitely visit again when we come back to Charlotte

This place is lovely. From the outside, during the evening, it does look like its closed. The windows have some type of tint on them that throw you off. Super yummy treats, and connected to the Ritz.

Swung by for a little late night dessert. Bought 2 cupcakes that were delicious. Service was friendly and prices were surprisingly low and affordable. Will stop by again.

Service is excellent. The desserts here are all made in the back except the bon bond which are out of Ft. Myers, FL...but theyre awesome too. Gelato from heaven and the smoothest coffee Ive ever tasted. I wish they sold the grounds. The wording on the doors is basic and you can really miss it if you dont know where youre going. A Great place to pick up a chocolatey gift surprise for sure.

I would like to give a higher review, the atmosphere was cute and I was excited to try. We walked in around 10 minutes to 5:00 today and started looking at what was to offer. No one was currently behind the counter so we decided to figure out what we wanted so we could order when someone came back. Everything was reasonably priced, much cheaper than we were expecting. After waiting for about 10 minutes no one came out. We called out hello to the back but still nothing for another 5 minutes. We eventually left because we ran out of time. Disappointed

Out of the three desserts ordered (bar cocoa specialty, chocolate cupcake and coconut cake) the coconut was amazing! Not to mentioned service was very kind, highly recommended!

Modern bakery/ pattisserie offering several tasty selections of desserts and treats as well as coffee and other beverages. We tried several of their selections and were not disappointed. The macarons were delicious and perfectly crafted with quality ingredients and came in many different flavors. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The coffee (I had a cappuccino and two friends had the iced hazelnut coffee) was very good, the macaroons and chocolates were also very good - however, dont bother with the cupcakes. They are dry and hard, and seem old. Two friends got two different flavors of cupcake and both were disappointed. It looks like there are a lot of complaints on Google Reviews about the cupcakes, I wonder why management doesnt fix this when everything else is so delicious!? I will be back, just not for cupcakes! Hours are also great, wonderful for a late after-dinner dessert!

I have tried a few of the pastries and they were okay at best. You should go here for the chocolates. I love the key lime, dark chocolate, and smores. They always have something new.tip: dont let them package your chocolates in a gift box as they charge extra.

This is attached to the Ritz & open late. Id definitely stop in for dessert again. The chocolate mousse was delish but my husband had a red velvet cupcake that tasted like it was a day or 2 old. Still yummy enough to eat but for $5.50 a cupcake, we expected perfection... staff was great!

This is one of my favorite stops in uptown Charlotte. They have the most fun and yummy gourmet treats. From cupcakes to tuffles and bon bons to gelato. Something for everyones taste.

My friend & I went there. She got geleto which was good & I got there cookie. Very fresh Im impressed. However the staff should smile more. Customer service gets a C.

Wonderful experience! I walked straight for the gelato, as that was what I was craving. Turned around to ask for a suggestion, and before I was finished looking up from the scrumptious options, the barista anticipated what I was going to ask, with specific explanation to his amazing favorite, along with additional goodies to add as toppings. Was walking from my office to hotel and swung by this place, its a tiny cute shop. There isnt aloy of variety but dam are the desserts they have out of this world, had the coconut one twice in a week and i still want more

I was surprised at how bad this experience was. Our cupcake was old, it was dry the frosting chewy and the croissants were just as bad, The coffee was terrible, flavorless and not heated well. When we walked in the attendant never spoke to us until we asked for some coffee, then she ask what else we would like. Very rude.

This place looks so good from the outside. But the desserts are way over priced. And they dont even taste good at all. I have tried many diff items from the bar. And most of the things besides some of the chocolates were not so good. I dont recommend wasting your hard errand money at this place. Just not worth it.

The best desserts in town with s view

This was my first experience here, and I would give it a better rating had I not seen a roach in the cookie case crawling on the cookies. The worker then killed it inside the case, then began to remove them after about 10mins, after selling a few to some customers that came after I brought that to their knowledge. They removed the cookies but left the macaroons which are stored in the same case, I had to tell the workers that everything in that case was contaminated and it would be wise to get rid of the macaroons as well. Also I never saw a sanitation score, an from the over flowing trash cans to the dirty floors and tables. The workers had plenty of time on their hands to keep the bar looking it’s best. It’s very disappointing and honestly this is something you never would’ve expected from a 5 star hotel or any of it’s attched attractions. The part that really disturbed me was that the worker actually sold cookies were the roach was crawling around!!!! 😨

Just got a cupcake to go. She putit in the box sideways, knocking the toppings off. The cake was a bit dry. Will try again for their chocolates, but I worry as its ridiculously pricey and theres nothing more disappointing than paying $3 for a tiny piece of chocolate and it not being good.

The chocolate cupcake that I had tasted like it was Betty Crocker, but it was not. The other desserts were amazing, might I add.

The staff was super nice when i went in for a Monday treat. I got the Chocolate Cupcake and it had to have been atleast a week old. It was hard and dry and even the icing had a film on it . It was discusting I ended up throwing it away.
