Modern Lighting Design is fantastic! We’ve been going there for years. It’s been a family affair. Cathy helped my folks pick out the lighting for their kitchen remodel and she helped us find the perfect lighting and ceiling fans for our entire home when we moved in. They are our go-to for the best section, customer service, and price in town! We highly recommend! Support local!

I highly recommend working with Modern Lighting. My experience working with them felt like I was in a small town where everyone knows and trusts everyone. Ive been looking for a new light for my kitchen for quite some time. I stopped in Modern Lighting and was greeted by Cathy. I showed her photos of my room and she immediately suggested a couple of options both of which I really liked. They had a sample of one of the lights that they allowed me to bring home and see if it would work in my kitchen. Their process was so easy and convenient and I love my new light. The price point was great too!

I was fortunate enough to find this store as I had some time to kill before my next appointment. Cathy was welcoming and sooooo knowledgeable. I bought two fixtures within about 15 minutes and had been looking for “just the right thing” for months. I can’t say enough good things about Modern Lighting Design. Very rude sales woman, and unprofessional. I dont think she prefered to sell me a $150 light because I wasnt interested in a thousand dollars chandelier and obviously she didnt like my accent !! I will never approach that store again to aviod being humiliated.

I expected it to be more spacious. The lights are extremely close together making it difficult to see everything they offer on display.

Liza Branch at Modern Lighting was instrumental in bringing our vision of a custom designed light fixture to life. Now that fixture is a focal point in the design of our new townhome. Our experience with Modern Lighting Design has been fantastic. All I had to do is give Liza(the owner)a brief description of what I needed and within minutes she had dozens of catalogs pulled with hundreds of ideas. They let me order my fans and chandeliers and store them at the store while our house was being built. Incredibly accommodating and friendly, this is the place to buy your lighting and fans! Cathy with a C is a genius not only at the art and science of lighting, but in giving a helpful advice about decorating tips for use of spaces in your home. I have no idea about decorating but bought a new home and had several lighting needs, and she not only helped pick out lights she thought would be appropriate (and fans), but was careful to ask about the spaces where they would go, my personal tastes etc. She really cares about what she sells you. The results of her choices look fantastic in my place. Great examples of inventory in the showroom, and Cathy is very knowledgable about where to find other altnernatives among many other catalogues she has. Outstanding.

Working with Cathy has been the best. I worked with her on a small project 3 years ago and when I went back in last month she remembered who I was, what I had bought and was able to help me with almost our entire house lighting that we were renovating. Her ideas are spot on and she takes the time to listen and can open her supply books and show you great things within minutes. Dont go anywhere else. any size, any budget-they make it work.m

This review is long overdue. The ladies at Modern Lighting Design were extremely helpful during our major home renovation. Lighting selections can be overwhelming, with a myriad of options and price points. MLD helped us sift through thousands of options to help us achieve our lighting goals. They were extremely valuable in pointing out places to splurge and places we could pull back and save some money…while working within our budget and time frame. They also immediately ordered a new ceiling fan when our original was defective, no questions asked. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MLD to anyone searching for a single fixture or with the daunting task of replacing nearly every light fixture and ceiling fan in a home.

Very very small 300 sqft store cluttered and dissorganized. The owner was extremely rude and defensive. She also made the comment of owning the largest store from Atlanta to Charlotte area. Little merchandise to see. The pictures on the Google maps are deceiving. The store looks like its out of Bussiness or ready to move.Liza, I am editing my review, since I cannot answer to your response. Once again, from your arrogant response to my review, it proves the point that you judge people before even knowing them. As a matter fact, we came very open and ready to purchase some lights. There was no negative remark - grimace, on neither my nor my wifes side. It was just an honest comment, driven by the reality of the store being small, with little merchandise and rather disorganized appearance. Your defensive and patronizing reponse, to a potential customer, showed immediately, your lack of customer care or interest for their needs.Your store has very few reviews and interestingly, my story of you treating customers arrogantly is not the only one. Just check yelp or other venues.This is the last time when I respond!

We had a terrible experience with Modern Lighting. The expensive fixtures that we purchased for the powder room in our new home stopped working less than a year after we moved in and Liza, the owner was rude, uncooperative and refused to help us to resolve this problem or stand by the product that she sold to us.

Gave them the pricing from Ferguson’s and asked them to beat. They matched or were higher on every item. When I informed them that I was going to buy from fergusons, this was the email I got. Very unprofessional coming from the owner of the business.

Hot shop and all the lights are up on the ceiling. extremely overpriced

Havent purchased from here, but they had an amazing supply of unique lighting and friendly staff. I would be a frequent visitor if I was in the area!
