Looks like a hole in the wall from outside, once you go in its actually nice. Great place FOR FABRIC AT LOW PRICES. Notice that had Halloween stuff for %40 off, once we look at tags now why. Maybe they go to 75% off.Recently went back to get more fabric but they were out, the manager Christa was so nice went out of her way to bring a roll down from the Culpepper store. Thank you so Much! This Joann is larger than I expected. Very clean and employees are very friendly. The majority of the store is fabric and sewing-related. Unlike a lot of the other Joann stores Ive been to, there isnt much home decor or other crafts. Their floral department is very small and mostly empty. Not sure if its always like that or if its like that because I came at the end of the season.

Love this store. Mostly I go in for fabric and sewing items and everyone is super helpful and always willing to help the novice aka ME. Since Im teaching myself to sew. They also have great coupons, curbside pick up and u can shop in store as long as u wear a mask. Thanks for being so awesome

The staff here is really nice and friendly. They have a good range of quilting cotton and a surprising amount of decent cosplay textiles.My main problem is that the management doesnt give them enough people to really provide good customer service. They try, but when there is one person on fabric and one ag the register theres no one to help you find a specific fabric.

Love going to this fabric store. They always have great deals and if you sign up for the emails you get good coupons. You just have to ask for them not to send you too many. They can be a little much sometimes with that aspect.

We have visited this store on multiple occasions. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. They are more than willing to help us as novice seamstresses figure out what we need to buy for our patterns. The Viking representative is great at helping customers find the perfect sewing machine for their needs.

Cashiers are friendly and pleasant. Employees cutting fabrics are often curt or rude. Not my favorite place in town to get fabric, but I go if i truly have no choice.

They were opened on new years which was a plus, but employees did not seem happy to serve.

Joann Fabrics has great deals and a great variety of crafty things and more. I visited the other day after searching many stores for some things to make my wreaths and I will definitely be making Joann Fabrics my go to stop from now on!

Best fabric selection for 90 miles. Staff is very helpful. The craft selection is on the sparse side, not nearly as diverse as Hobby Lobby or AC Moore. I never see any coupons for this store, nor do I see sales advertised.

A great store, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, wide fabric selection, and a good craft selection. Although it may take some time to get through the line at the cutting counter, its to be expected when people bring up 10-15 bolts at a time, and the staff at the counter are always willing to answer any questions customers have, and know their fabrics, cuts, and sewing methods. I think its a bit ridiculous to go into a craft store and expect quick service - there are too many factors involved to make the process an in-and-out thing. Ive never been disappointed by my shopping experience here, and I have been shopping at this store for about 5 years.

As crafts have changed, Joann Fabrics & Crafts has changed with the time. Still, I am happy to say, emphasizing the sewing arts, including sewing machines and classes, and expanded to some hard-to-find items. Our town lost the main art store several years ago, and Joanns now fills that gap for artists.

The staff is super! The craft materials are good. Cottons for quilting are good BUT fabrics for clothing are terrible. If you are even remotely connected to living history in any way, dont shop here for quality fabrics.

Great selection and so many items on sale. If you download the mobile app, you can also get coupons regularly for items not on sale so I very rarely have paid full price for anything in this store. I prefer over Michaels because the prices are cheaper and in a less crowded location.

They have a large variety of crafts for children. They make wonderful Christmas gifts for crafty youngsters.

I would recommend Joanna Farbic and Crafts to any crafter .I watch their sells a lot.

The staff at this store is great! I left an item very important to me in my shopping cart and they saved it for me. I tried to give them a tip and they wouldnt accept, they were just happy to be of service.

You can usually find what you need for sewing and crafts, but there are never enough employees working. Plan to wait in sometimes very long lines at the fabric cutting counter and more long lines at check out. Im relatively sure Joanns simply doesnt care about giving anything close to decent customer service.

This is in reference to 5 days ago. I received an email about a craft machine that was on sale for that day only. I was ordering online and every time I put the item in my cart and used the promotion code that was given, it would not calculate to that special price which was only for online orders. I emailed customer service and to this day I have not received a response back. I tried calling the 800 number and I was on hold for about 10 minutes with no response.

I try not to shop at big box stores, but the Charlottesville Joann has some of the best and most helpful employees of anywhere, and there are constant rotating sales on fabric that have saved me a lot!

Im not exactly a tailor.. unless you count the button i sewed on my pants a few years back. My daughter is super crafty though and this place has it all. Great selection and great service.

My shopping experience with Jo-Ann Fabric in Charlottesville is always enhanced by the quality individuals who make up this excellent staff. Their professional and respectful assistance, kindness, patience and expertise at the fabric cutting counter and cash register is worthy of respect in a retail environment wherein customers often are simply not mindful of the nature of challenges individuals at the service level must negotiate day to day. I am grateful this business and these individuals are part of the community I live in.

This is a great Joannes but sometimes out of sale items quickly.

Where is the terrible to bad rating? Calling their service poor is too nice for this place. I have had it with this store, upper management really needs to get a clue. They are ALWAYS understaffed. No other JoAnns seems to have that problem, and Ive been to many. Ive been to this store on weekends, weekdays, mornings, afternoons and evenings and I always am standing around wasting my time either at the cutting counter, or at the cash register (or both if theyre really swamped). Ive spent an hour waiting when I really needed something. Thats beyond ridiculous. Usually I just walk out with nothing because of it, Ive never seen such a horribly inefficient store in my life. The reviewer who thinks this store is so peachy is right about one thing, it is not the employees fault their superiors are cutting corners with the staffing. Ive never personally dealt with a rude manager/employee but Ive also never complained.I am also particularly annoyed because they are so inconsistent in coupon acceptance. I wanted to use a student discount since my fabric was already on sale. I had a tiny little cut of fabric, but it turns out I would need some kind of card for the pathetic 10% off they give (other Joann stores look at my student ID and can obviously enter it in just fine). Meanwhile, I had been waiting 10 minutes in line because some other person wanted to use 50% off ON EACH ITEM THEY WERE BUYING. AND THEY LET THEM! To say I am livid is a gross understatement, I think they have an awful lot of nerve. I know they can just key it in and be done with it. After the time theyd wasted I didnt even want to bother for pittance.In general this chain has the most awful quality, thin, crappy fabrics. I groan when I have to go in. Theres NO other fabric store in the area or I wouldnt bother with them because I hate being at their mercy. I try to avoid going and wait until I visit home where they have other chains that arent such a rip off.

As an Aussie visiting the US there is nothing like a trip to Joanns to see the variety and at a fraction of the cost of it at home.

I love JoAnn’s but I’m giving them one star for their deceiving coupons! I know that might sound silly but today I got a coupon that said 25% off total purchase on EVERYTHING (except fabric). My daughter and I went shopping b/c of the text coupon. Near the checkout line an elderly woman was speaking w a store associate and became very upset and confused b/c this person was trying to explain to her that the coupon excludes clearance. The elderly woman kept saying that her coupon said total purchase of everything. I realized that we may have the same coupon so I pulled out my phone and showed the store associate. She told me open the coupon and read the fine print. Sure enough the fine print says that it excludes clearance. I felt really badly for the confused elderly woman and myself. We both were deceived!
