Ive been to many different B&N locations across the country and I was very impressed with this location. Definitely worth a visit.
4.9 stars I loved B&N back in the day then I got hooked on buying books from Amazon. Today I decided to go to B&N to see if the books were cheaper than Amazon & they were. I got 3 books for $20 the only issue is I dont understand the layout. I was looking for Bronte Austen & Hardy theyre romance but they werent in the romance section they were in fiction lol but the staff was great & I missed a bookstore
I could spend days in the store and millions haha its set up perfectly to keep u interested and spending!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BARNES AND NOBLE!!!!!! Ginger is the absolute best! If you are able to meet her you are so lucky! She is kind and remembers the books youve read and can help you find new ones. She completely makes this barnes and noble the best.

Brought my 12-y.o. daughter here on a shopping spree. They had a lot of the classic books I read around her age and some newer ones. She was looking specifically for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and they had it in a collectors set at a very reasonable price. They also had a buy-one-get-one-half-off special so we ended up spending like $60 on books when I was expecting it to be higher.
Good selection. Store was fairly empty. Was unable to find the magazine I came in for, couldn’t locate anyone at the help desk.
I love this Barnes and Noble! The selection here can not be matched and anytime they dont have anything I can have it ordered for myself. The staff is so helpful and kind. They never mind taking the time to not only help you but talk and recommend some other great reads.The cafe as well is amazing! Some the drinks here are made even better than in a really Starbucks. They never mind special orders and are very fast.All in all all this is the best Barnes and Noble in the are!
I love this place! I can visit on a daily basis if I could. Friendly Staff a Wealth of resources there and if not they can certainly get it. Quiet little coffee/snack area as well.Will be back ASAP!!!
Today a lady named jess(i think was her name) helped me find two picture books about swimming for a child with autism I teach every week! The boy I teach is nonverbal and responds well to colors and pictures so i think this will help develop his understanding of swimming tremendously!
I can always find something good. Hard to get assistance, wanted to ask about a certain magazine. Cafe great drink and quiet.

I used to like this Barnes & Noble a lot more. However, they have recently changed up the layout of the bookshelves and I find the new layout to be confusing and more difficult to get around. I do still enjoy sitting in the café to read and they have more tables than most locations making this easier. I dont feel rushed to get up so someone else can sit down. What almost gets them a fourth star is how helpful the staff here is. It is easy to find someone and everyone is ready to drop what they are doing to help you out. Id honestly probably give this location five stars if it wasnt for the new layout.

Very helpful staff,they are sweet to my daughter and I every time we visit. If they dont have a book in stock they will order it for you. Its also relaxing to have a Starbucks and read a little bit and the Starbucks staff was fast and personable as well

Nice crowd of people inside store. Coming out of covid lockdown is good. Relatively organized and clean inside store. Plenty of consultants willing to help you find things. Mask were on. Book selections and inventory moving fast. Hurry to get your book!!

The Barnes and Noble staff leave you alone here and let you browse in peace until you need something and then they are super helpful. Good selection, and Ive always found what I was looking for (for the most part) There is a Starbucks inside this location so thats always a plus. Also, just the general customer base at this location are a lot more respectful of other customers vs. some other locations Ive been to. Overall, definitely a great stop if you are looking for a nice weekend book store run.

Me and my son really like it here. Besides all the books they have a decent couple aisles with toys and trinkets. Then starbucks inside definitely makes it even better

Mr. Bill I think his name was. He helped me look for a book by Bell Hooks they no longer had in stock even though it showed they did have it. He took it upon himself to call another store in VA Beach to ensure that I got my book. He gave them my information and they held the book for me. I really appreciate his help, patience, and kindness!!!!!!!!

Great selection, nicely organized, and both the staff and clientele were practicing social distancing and mask use. As I was coming in, an employee was disinfecting the front door and held it open for me. A small gesture but it shows they care and I like that.

Update: I love to be able to see a book before I buy it, especially one for learning German, BUT why are your prices so high? I heard 2 people in the hour that I was there say we will look on Amazon this is way to expensive. Please consider price matching, or doing something like 10% more than online prices. You too will go out of business if you dont keep up with other places. 🥺They have nice choices in books. A lot of sections to choose from. And for the most part people are helpful.
We took the grandchildren here to turn in their summer reading club certificates and they each received a free book. Then, we each picked out 2 extra books to buy. They had all our favorites and the staff was very helpful! Great place for the whole family.

Let me start by saying that I love this place. Great staff and environment. But why one Earth are there no outlets in the cafe? This place has like 5 whole outlets scattered throughout the store. They could definitely benefit from a little renovation. But I will reiterate: this B&N is great. Just needs more outlets

Love this B&N. While it is close to home, it was still my favorite when I lived in Virginia Beach. I like the layout of the store a lot. I find it more relaxing and want to browse longer. Parking is great. Many of the staff have always been there and I enjoy seeing them. I really love the ability to order online and pick up as well.

The store is very inviting. Its a comfortable environment with a coffee shop and plenty of books, toys, and accessories to choose from. My only issue is lack of staff in the evenings. Other than that one issue, great store.
I really like taking my son to this Barnes and Nobles. The employees are super nice and helpful (not always in the Cafe). Its still the old style setup so its quieter and feels more like a bookstore than a book warehouse!

Excellent store. This Barnes and Noble has a super friendly & helpful staff, and a very well kept store. Theres also a slightly larger technology section than some of the other Barnes & Noble locations Ive been to.
This Barnes and Noble is a really lovely bookstore with a nice cafe. The staff are friendly and thier is ample seating to go and enjoy a coffee with a friend or a good book. The only drawback I noticed is that I didnt see an outlet in the seating area, so unless I missed it, it might be difficult to do computer work there for long periods of time.
Being an avid reader, books are what I crave. I love a handheld book its just who I am. My only problem with the store is.....not being able to leave!!😁

I mean, Im a bibliophile, this is my safe place. Both the VA Beach and Greenbrier locations are nice. Sucks that there arent more independents because of them and Amazon, but they do bookstore super well. And the ones down here are as nice as up North, which really helped me feel more comfortable when I first moved here.
This was my favorite B&N as their selection is fantastic, especially their childrens area. Today, however, I called to ask a question. I received an answer and as I was hanging up I heard the bookseller on the other end of the line say you would have known that if you listened to the message, just before she hung up. Firstly, there wasnt a message. I dialed the number and it connected me directly to a bookseller. There wasnt an option to listen to a prerecorded message. Life is hard enough right now, do we really need to be rude to each other?
Always a good experience here. I enjoy the spacious cafe area to grab lunch or study or do work. And theres nothing quite like actually browsing the stacks for books. If I want quick and cheap for a specific book - I use Amazon. If I want a first edition, impulse buy, a nice gift, or a recommendation from one of the sales team, I go to B&N. I like it when they get signed first editions from authors I follow and host book release parties. Those are some of the things I enjoy about a real book store. There is a discernible quality difference between a B&N book and a discount Amazon book - and if you enjoy the sensory experience of books, thats not something you can replace.
Always clean and staff are helpful! Good selection, everything is always in its place. I go to this store all the time by myself and with friends.
For the love of God hire a different cashier. Super slow and always takes forever trying to get people to sign up for memberships. Or at least have more than 1. I always hate going here because it takes 5 minutes for her to checkout the one person in front of me.

I LOVE the Cafe! I go there to soak up the atmosphere while I work on writing my novel. The coffee is Starbucks brand, the Sweet Treats are Cheesecake Factory Brand, and the charm is all Barnes and Noble brand. I come here as often as I can!
Its been years since was at Barnes and Noble until today. As always good selection of books and knowledgeable helpful staff.Only disappointing thing is they have drastically reduced their science fiction selection but can/will still order for you.

I wish there was a Barnes and Noble in Suffolk, Virginia, then I would not have to travel so far.. Barnes and Noble have comfortable chairs where youre allowed to sit and read. a delicious cafe and a great assortment of books, magazines and gifts. As far as books, I want to own them not just read online. I cherish books to keep and to give as gifts. Books keep given for years.
I found nothing I wanted, I from out of town so I Wii get what I needed from Books a Million. The one star is because I had to get my post to go through!
I could spend hours in there. I am always looking for books for my many authors that I read that I have missed. Craft books, medical books, and you can have them order books if you dont see it. Always found something of interest in there. Most of their stores have a snack and coffee section so you can sit and look over selections to see if it is what you are Interested in. They have a magazine selection also, maps, and many other choices.

They are always helpful and friendly, if its not in the store its online. The membership is worth the free shipping and discounts. Plus the coffee at Starbucks inside is always a pick up when I need it.
My son needed a book for his school work and we were able to order it and have it delivered to to the car.
It has books and coffee.. not much more i nees to be honest 😂. But really it is a nice store, quick with transactions and well organized selection. All in all it was fun going.
Clean Quiet friendly
Theres a really pretty girl who works here and she has warm eyes and a soft, bright smile thats like sunlight on my face! She has red glasses and is very nice. I hope shes having a good day and is having a happy new years. (The rest of the staff too) . I dont know this girls name but if its a pretty as her than its probably the most beautiful name. And if its not, she makes it beautiful.Okay thats all. Also this b&n has a good selection and is clean and nicely staffed. Very good. 5/5 stars.
