Worked here. Was hell.....Owners son claims his dad was behind the rude responses on here however he died from covid. So the only one responsible for the inconsiderate rude comments is Justin snow or his mother Elaine.
Took my lawn mower to ECHG because I wanted the mulching plate put on and it was a little hard to pull back. Without asking me they disconnected the self propel function to make it roll back easy. They refuse to put it together the way I gave it to them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.
I would not recommend East Coast for small engine repair. I was quoted a week and half for quote. Quote was received over four weeks later after repeated calls. They charge a $45 non refundable “Diagnostic” fee which I was fine with, however I was notified the repair would cost more than a new one would. So I said thanks for the info, I will buy a new one, I’ll be by to pick up the old one tomorrow please put it back together. At which time they were surprised that I would want it back. “Our $45 diagnostic only pays for us to take it apart, we don’t return it to you like you have it to us. I got my equipment back with a bag of parts.
Absolutely amazing and I recommend this business to anyone looking for landscaping equipment repair. I have purchased all my Echo equipment here and they definitely take care of me. This was my first time at this store and I will never come back. At check out, their device wasn’t working. My first card they tried a few times at which the older lady at the register with glasses says to the gentleman checking me out, that there was a reason my card wasn’t working and to be careful, watch out for things like this, as if I was a fraud?! Mind you this was over $3 worth of used pots! My second card they had to type in a few times before they could get out to work. Clearly it was their device 😳 Totally unnecessary and there was really no need to say something like that. I love helping small businesses by purchasing items from y’all instead of bigger industries. Please consider having more respect for your customers. It’ll take you a long way.

Recently I ordered materials for a small pea gravel patio. I had a request to have two different materials delivered in the same load, but I was trying to keep them separate. They said they would do their best. The driver went above and beyond, and took extra time to make sure the two items dumped separately. It was perfect! I was so grateful for a quick delivery and for them being so kind listening to my needs.
Went to get a propane tank filled and ended up with an unusable tank. The kid filling the tank acted like he didn’t know what he was doing and then he hit my tank with pliers and snapped the thread. When I called to address the issue I was treated with the worst customer service I’ve ever gotten. The receptionist was rude from the get go and tried to say they weren’t at fault at all, when they in fact were. Definitely don’t recommend their services anymore. This used to be a great business and it’s sad to see the owners let it go that far downhill.
TERRIBLE SERVICE! Waiting 6 weeks for a Lawn Mower to be repaired. Was told a week to a week in a half. No calls about the progress. Finally called after 6 weeks and still do not have an answer! Do not take a mower there for service. All you get is mouth service. On top of that the bill will be over $300 and I have a local guy I found that could have done the same work for $50. Never Again!
I try to support our small businesss in the area so I will use these guys as much as possible. They deliver mulch and gravel for a reasonable price. They also carry parts for mowers and other farming equipment. They fill propane tanks as well. Overall a great place to go for all if your lawn needs.
I brought an electric Echo mower in for repair. They told me it would be 10 days to 2 weeks.When I went in at the end of 2 weeks I was very rudely told that if they hadnt called me, it wasnt done. I called back because I was actually upset by the encounter and was treated even more rudely, but told that the part had arrived and I could pick it up the next day when they opened.It wasnt ready the next morning, so I asked why and they said that after putting in a part, they discovered that they needed another (it happens). Theyd ordered that part and it would be in in several days. A week later I called and they said all the parts had arrived the day before so it should be next week. Again, I asked if I could get an update call and was told theyd call when it was finished.It will be a week tomorrow and I just called....They discovered they need another part. This is a battery powered motor. The website at Echo lists about 20 parts including wheels and the blade. I asked for a call when the part arrived and they refused.My mower is being held hostage and Im going to be extorted out of my deposit if I take it to the only other warranty repair facility. Echo needs to perform a customer satisfaction audit on this facility as they border on con-artists.
Brought my generator in for repair. Waited 2 weeks to be told they couldn’t fix it, it needed a carburetor. Was also told that they searched and searched and couldn’t find it anywhere. Now out 40$ with a still broken generator, I looked on Amazon and what do you know they had one. Ordered Friday had it on Saturday. Will not be doing business with them ever again.

I guess i should have looked at all the review first before going to this place. I encourage everyone to do the same, not just the 5 stars with no supporting statement. I brought in a chainsaw thats only 2 y.o., starts up just fine, but stalled at throttle up. Im pretty sure the carburetor hi/lo needed adjustment, and old fuel drained for some fresh stuff. I was told that carb adjustment is $20, but I need to leave them $45 and they would refund my $25 when i pick up....dont judge me, I really did missed that clue and not knowing any other place in town, I took the bait. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything, I called and was told they were a little behind. 25 days later they called and said it was ready for pickup. I was then handed a bill for an additional $85 and was told that it needed new carburetor and gaskets. I work on cars so I know a little about mechanics, but not great with 2-cycles, and not sure why i needed new carburetor if it started just fine. When I got home I looked at the bill closer, they had charged $5 for gasoline, my chainsaw only hold about a pint, maybe slightly more. I also saw a $5 EPA Compliance, cant find anything on the internet to support this charge in VA.... educate me? Too bad, I actually go out of my way to use small businesses even if I have to pay reasonably more.
Horrible deceitful business. Brought in a gas trimmer for warranty repair. Took six weeks and when I went to pick it up was charged a bogus shop supplies and EPA fee of $14 which I was never informed of when dropping off the unit. Owner is rude and obnoxious. Stay away! All of these one star ratings are for a good reason.Update: First time using the trimmer after the repair it broke again (same issue) in 5 minutes. Fortunately after describing the unpleasant experience with East Coast, MTD offered to replace the unit.
Has a recall for our electric chainsaw and they are the dealer that was recommend to take the item to. The staff were friendly and helpful and let me know about any wait period for the repair. The shop carries lots of items for gardening, lawn care equipment and plants and seeds and repair work for a number of other lawn care equipment.
They never like to answer their phone. Bring your money elsewhere. Read all of the owners responses to negative reviews and ask yourself do you really want to give this fool your money. what a joke this business is

I cant speak to the rest of their business, but dont use for UHaul rentals. I was charged a $25 cleaning fee after we brought the truck back in the exact same condition as it was when we picked it up (I didnt think it was dirty when we picked it up or I would have said something then). I called East Coast Home & Garden and they said Sorry, nothing we can do about it. UHaul Customer Service was awesome to work with and refunded the cleaning fee.
I brought a backpack blower in to get the fuel lines replaced and paid $45 up front for this service. The tech swear to me that I needed a new carburetor and it was going to be over $200 to fix it. I took it somewhere else and guess What? It was the fuel lines and primer bulb that needed to be replaced. I never got a refund for service that wasnt done. I wonder if it was because he wanted to ripped me off or maybe because of Im a certain color.

No customer service with a smile in this place. They charge a diagnostic fee but failed to fix my backpack blower. When I brought it back they said it was the carberator. If I had them fix that too I could have paid for a new one. If you take a power tool there to be fixed and they charge too much, take a long time and do poor work I am sorry but the reviews say a lot as well as the overall care of the business appearance and customer interaction. Sorry to see a small brick and mortar not doing well but I have to take my business elsewhere.
BEWARE OF UHAUL RENTAL SCAM! I rented a truck and they claimed that I locked the keys in the vehicle upon return. THEN they proceeded to charge me rent by the day instead of getting the keys out. I had to call the state police. Very disappointing.
First time I have ever left a review, so you know I am mad about this...if they quote you a price, dont believe it. Prepaid for a quoted chainsaw tune up and when it was picked it up, they billed an additional $42. 90 bucks for a simple chainsaw tune up, and was told, basically...we are the only game in town, so too bad.
I was quoted a price for a tune up of 109.00 I wanted my blades changed and provided the parts. I was told that the parts would be deducted. When I called a few days later to check on things I was told I pre authorized up 325.00. The reason was so they didnt have to call every customer if something else was needed. I requested to be called regardless. Well low and behold my bill was 324.00. 1.00 less than the pre auth amount. I was not called. I even called several times to check on things. I was floored and the guy was so rude.

I would not give this business a 1 star if I had a choice! If you are not in the good old boy click or a tourist who fell on there establishment, you are not going to be treated as a customer. You will be treated as a stupid waste of their time! Example we drove 1 1/2 hours To get our garden tiller repaired because the manufacture told us they were the closest authorized place to do the warranty work.Not only did it take 4 wks and many phone calls later that they would not fix it because it was our fault (not true). When we went to pick it up they handed us the frame and all the engine parts were I in a cardboard box!They charged us $45.00 to basically dismantled it and throw all the parts in a box!Do not ever take a mantis piece of outdoor equipment there. First let me say that Husquavarna warranties are worthless and this place is a rip. You have to pay a $45 deposit to drop it off, then 5 weeks passed before they looked at it and tell me theres nothing wrong and they put a new air filter in and I owe all totaled $66. Seriously? Its 1 year old, barely starts, shakes and smokes, but you charge me $66 to look at it and put an $8 filter on it. Dont use this place. Rude. The guy was arguing with a customer on He phone when we walked in. That should have told us not to leave it there.

Had my mower for a month, no calls or anything I had to follow up with them twice!! Tell me the new belt I provided doesnt fit, I know that thats why I brought it in somethings wrong with the deck. Finally, they call they cant fix it Im out $45 plus CCard convenience fee I pick up the mower, wheres the belt that was on it? Ill measure it and get it matched up. (WE THREW IT AWAY.) wth wasnt yours to throw away!! Now I have no way to troubleshoot and get a new belt!
