I used to love using this pharmacy. The staff and pharmacist were all super kind and accommodating. As of the last couple Months and the changing of staff, I cannot stand coming here. They make everything such a hassle. I’ll get texts and even call and make sure my medication is ready for pickup. Then I’ll get here and they’ll say they didn’t get it, or they’re waiting for insurance approval etc.. the pharmacist I spoke with last night was super rude. I’ve never seen her before she has to be new. But she was extremely condescending with everything I asked. Which was super unappreciated considering the questions I was asking were completely realistic. CVS in Chesterton you really need to evaluate you Staff and stand by your standards. “Our mission at CVS Health is to take on many of the countrys most prevalent and pressing health care needs by understanding and acting on what consumers want and need — personalized, people-centered care that treats them like a human being, not a number” practice your mission statement and quit treating your customers like they’re nothing.
Ive never had any issues with excessive wait times or anything. Now that COVID is an issue, theres definitely a much longer line at the drive through than inside, but I usually go inside as I often have to pick up something else, other than prescriptions, at the same time.Very courteous staff and always willing to help and answer any questions that you have. Patrick is amazing.
Expectations of sub-par service from CVS were already low, but this location is lower than that. If you can go elsewhere do. Even for a vaccine. If you cannot go elsewhere be forewarned- When you arrive for a scheduled vaccine appointment you may be forgotten and wait for an hour. Be prepared that you or your teenager may be insulted by pharmacy staff for asking politely when they will be seen, after already waiting 45 minutes. Bottom line - people should never be treated the way we were today.
Incredibly unprofessional. Had my doctor call in at 9 am this morning for a single dose, urgent prescription to be taken. I work midnights and have been (awake) on standby for the past 2+ hours waiting for my prescription to be filled. I called to see the status of my prescription and the representative I spoke to couldnt even find it on the computer and had to put me on hold. She came back to tell me another 30 minutes and it will be ready. This is the last time I will ever send a prescription to CVS, (where I have been going for years) and will promptly be switching to Walgreens in town. The CVS location in Chesterton is a complete joke. Dont waste your time unless you want to be trolled
Just picked up RXs
CVS is great, its like a walgreens but everything is 1.5x more expensive!
I’ve found my desired products at better prices and received more courteous treatment at CVS than at its competitor. Although they could improve their checkout time
Very good customer experience. We were fighting with insurance and a script out of stock at other locations. The techs did a very good job communicating with doctors office and us to get the authorizations and script filled. Very friendly at pickup too.
Cvs offered me a refill on a prescription that insurance wasnt going to cover then failed to call to let me know of this issue. Then had the comment thrown in my face why did I wait so long. So if I didnt wait would insurance cover it sooner lol. The staff is a joke for CARE!!
Exceptionally kind and customer service oriented pharmacy staff. One of them spent 10 minutes helping me find a coupon card the cut my cost in half.
Rude and unprofessional
Julie at the minute clinic was great, the wait was over any hour but I reserved a spot in line at home so the in stone wait was minimal. Julie the NP was nice friendly and over all very helpful. And the prescriptions were sent directly to the pharmacy and we ready 5 minutes after I was done with my appointment. The minute clinic is a great option if your doctor cant fit you in.
Dont expect to pick up multiple prescriptions (that were ordered at the same time) at the same time. You will have to tell that that you actually have more than 1 script, then they will have to look it up and take another 15-30 minutes to fill any additional scripts, when thay are not busy. If they are remotely busy do not expect to get any prescriptions in a timely fashion, as they will all take several hours to fill, even if they tell you it will only take 30-45 minutes. Last month I went there 3 times in one day trying to pick up 1 script and they kept telling me they were sorry that it would be about another hour. It took them 6 hours to fill that 1 script. Im not sure what the problem is, but there definitely is SOMETHING wrong there!
They always seem to not refill all of you scripts on time and they are barely ever ready even when they csll you to tell you its ready !My wife went last night on a Friday at 830pm. The cvs pharmacy was closed with the sign on the window that said they are open toll 10?!?! Must be nice to just quit working whenever you want.
The Chesterton store is very busy, ALL THE TIME. With the volume of prescriptions they fill one would think they would have an adequate staff, but they don’t. I just got back home for the 2nd time after trying to pick up my prescriptions. It’s a no win situation whether you go inside or use the drive up window. I waited in line behind one customer for at least 10 minutes and then decided to leave. WHY does it take 10-15 minutes each for some people to clog up the drive up window? Are they completely stupid, unprepared or both??? I hate going to the Chesterton store and don’t even get me started about the Minute Clinic. What a complete disaster that is. It should be called the “at least 2 hour wait clinic.” Wake up CVS, because your service sucks and that’s being very kind.
Pharmacy has many employees, but usually only one at register, creating long wait time. Also they cant seem to get refills right, repeating same mistakes and calls repeatedly. Liked Osco and Walgreens much better, but no choice due to insurance.
This is the WORST CVS I have ever been to, and I am from the South, aka CVS land. Completely in shambles, disorganized, stock and merchandise laying all over the floor. No inventory whatsoever, rows and rows of items and shelves are empty. I was absolutely appalled CVS would let one of their stores appear this way. I am not sure if management has dropped the ball or they are about to close it, but it is just awful.
Best CVS Ive ever been to
Friendly and helpful staff
