Honest and straight shooters. I had been using another mechanic for years, after a couple bad events someone recommended ARS to me. I wish I had found them a long time ago. I just had them do over 2k of work on my 93 Ford Bronco, that I know would have cost me much much more at my old mechanic. I was told by several others that this was a good place to take my cars to and I am glad I listened.

This was a weird experience. Van broke down in Cheyenne, got towed here. Customer service was not so great, they seemed really irritated that I just asked for a time-frame of when they could look at it. When they did get around to looking at the problem, the van somehow fixed itself and they were honest about it.

I was passing through town and lost my alternator. Even though they were busy, they supposed me into their schedule first thing in the morning and had me out the door and under 2 hours. The service was awesome and I really appreciated them going the extra mile and helping get me back on the road!

I did not have an excellent experience. I had someone I trust greatly to check my car out and he gave me a list of things I needed fixed. I called this shop and told them what I wanted replaced. They looked my car over and said the part didn’t need replaced, and was VERY dismissive of my concern. I’m a single mom of two girls and our safety is a huge priority. I do not feel like this shop had my best interest at heart nor do I feel like they did a thorough examination on my car. I took my car to another shop and they fixed my car no problem! They also verified that the part automotive repair specialists said didn’t need replaced, in fact was a huge concern. You know an axle that goes from the transmission to the tire and that has a very worn out bearing.... thanks for nothing! I wouldn’t trust them to put a bandaid on a scraped knee!

Excellent independent shop, been using them for decades. The job is always done right with no attempt to sell me anything I dont need.

We have three pick-ups and a car, and we wouldnt trust anyone else for routine maintenance and repairs. They are honest and have fair pricing. We’ve never questioned their integrity one time in the last 40 years. They are friendly (never condescending) and accommodating to our schedules. We highly recommend this business.

Great place for auto repair!! I had one of my team drivers coming across country from Washington state to Chicago. While traveling through the area their vehicle started acting up. I googled auto repair facilities and picked Automotive Repair Specialist based on the ratings. They got my vehicle in right away and within less than two hours they were headed back towards Chicago. Very swift and competent service

We were passing through in the middle of the night. Our van made a clunk and the wheels wouldn’t role. AAA towed us to here. I called this shop at 0730 and explained our plight. They said they were two weeks booked out but would do their best. They called me throughout the day letting me know what was going on. They found that a caliper bolt had backed out and was causing the trouble. They fixed the problem, lock tighted the bolts. Charged a very reasonable fee and even picked us up from the hotel we were stranded at and brought us to the shop.They could have extorted me. Out of state plates, an inoperable van, etc.I HIGHLY recommend this shop. They have wonderful morales and went above and beyond in every way.

Their opinions and advice seemed a little untruthful. Wasnt very trustworthy.

Awesome service! I replaced my power steering pump myself and had a huge leak I couldn’t find. I called had an appointment set up for the day after. Fixed my leak, cleaned up my engine from the leaking fluid and topped of the fluid. Was done the same day. I’ll definitely be going back

Very honest and generous love this shop

I have owned just three vehicles over the last 30 years and ARS has serviced them all. I am so happy to know a maintenance shop I can trust. They are always courteous, are easy to work with and do a great job.

I have an older vehicle that needed a new timing belt and several mechanic visits for various noises and check engine lights in the last year. ARS could easily have recommended an additional $2k of work over the last year but instead were honest and upfront about what did and did not need fixing to keep me safely on the road. So nice to have a reliable, honest mechanic! This is the only place we will take our vehicles.

I have been going here a good 15 years or more. They have bent over backwards to take care things, even when it is an emergency or last minute. Have alway been treated with respect.

Was towed in by AAA over the weekend. They looked at it first thing when they opened, and had me back on the road by noon.

Best repair shop in town.

There were only three places in town that a consumer could trust:Crocks, Auto Electric, and ARS. Mr Crock retired leaving just the two repair shops available. If you want taken for a great ride, go to a dealer or some of the other shops. If you want excellent service go to ARS or Auto Electric. I cant do my own repairs anymore and trust these two outfits.

Great people, great service ! AAA towed me in at 10:30 with a broken axle and messed up seal. I was out the door and back on my road trip by 11:45. Thank you, ARS!

Great price

So I’m in the military stationed 2,000 miles from home and got a death wobble on my way to the base. Looked under my truck and found the track bar mount had a little play. I called and asked them how much it would cost to literally tighten 2 bolts for me since I had to leave all of my air tools back home. They told me it would be $50 just to get it in, then however much he would charge me to tighten the bolts. Ridiculous. Spend your money elsewhere this place is a ripoff.

Have never had any problems with ARS. They have always treated me respectfully and never like I didnt know what I was talking about as other automotive repairs places have done in the past. They never skip on things you ask them to do, and are always willing to go that extra mile!

I was having trouble getting my 99 Ford F250 to go straight down the road. It kept wandering from one side of the lane to the other without me moving the steering wheel. I searched the web to find an answer, reading that the problem might be a bad steering box. I asked the good folks at ARS to check it out, and if it required replacement to just fix it, that they did not need to call me for permission to do so. I knew it would be ~$1000, so I gave them the keys and left. I got a call a few hours later asking if I had just gotten new tires, which I had. It turns out that the tire shop had put too much air in the tires which was causing the wandering. They let out some air, fixed the problem, and didnt charge me. They could have let our the air, changed the steering box and charged me a grand to do it, and I never would have questioned them. Instead, I got an honest assessment and fix of the problem. ARS gets a life-long customer.

I had to make an appointment to get an alignment done at 8:00 a.m. and they didnt get done with it until mid afternoon. Why bother schedule an appointment when they are going to keep your vehicle all day? Might as well have said, Just drop it off and well get around to it sometime today. Just an inconvenience. I know Damn well that it doesnt take all day to do that simple job. Needless to say, I wont be going back in the future.

Being having intermittent problems with my sons car and could not get it resolved. It had been to another shop but the car ran perfectly. A few days after getting it back it would not start again. I had it towed to ARS and they worked with it for several days and finally located the problem. This occured last summer and the car is still running great.

Straight to the point, no runaround, fast maintenance. Havent had a bad experience.

Duane and his staff have been providing us with outstanding service for over 20 years. Ive had several instances where the local dealers quote was up to 10 times higher than ARSs. For example; my vehicle was front-ended and when I received it from the body shop the Check Engine light was on. The dealer and another repair shop took one glance at the computer code and said it needed new catalytic converter sensors. Cost - $900. I took the vehicle to ARS and Duane noted that code meant the fuse that controlled the sensors was bad. Cost - $50!I can cite several other examples, but this type of service is why we will continue to use ARS.

A great local place to get automotive services and repairs!

My truck broke down outside of town on a trip from Denver to Oregon in February. Tow truck driver suggested this company. The repair was incomplete and required more repairs to be done in Salt Lake City. I called four times to request an adjustment to the bill and never got a call back. Would have loved to have the owner with me in the truck with no heat at 5am on a cold winter morning as I drove from Cheyenne to Oregon!

ARS is the only place I will take my vehicles for any problems. They always do great work at the most reasonable prices I have found.

Really poor experience at this shop.1) After I specifically asked for an estimate before they did the work on my air conditioning, ARS went ahead and did the job anyway — without my approval.2) When I complained, I was given a $10 discount off a bill that totaled more than $200. I never got a satisfactory explanation of why I wasnt called.Im not mad about the quality of the work I got from here. My car is running well. However, I feel mechanics should call ahead before taking on a project, especially something that is not pivotal to the car running, like A/C. I would not have approved the project that day and was very unhappy with the customer service I received.

We would never take our vehicles any where else. ARS is able to tune up and fix our 1994 Chevy Caprice, 2005 Pickup, and 2004 Ford Freestyle no matter what the problem. They also have tires at a reasonable price. The people are always friendly and courteous as well as being very capable. They are honest. They also can find parts for older cars--like the Chevy. They had to replace the glove box cover and found the part on the net because none were available in town. Once I tried to save time and buy a battery at another place--not a good idea. The other place didnt hook the battery up correctly and the car kept stalling. ARS was able to discover the error and fix it. Now I also buy batteries at ARS because I wasted time going to the other business. ARS is definitely the place to go for regular maintenance or major problems.

I recommend ARS to anyone in or passing through Cheyenne. One of the worst things that can happen when travelling out of state is to have your car break down in a place you dont know anyone. This happened to me, my brakes went out while visiting Wyoming.The ARS people are competent and reasonably priced. As a result of this their shop is busy, but its worth the wait. Several locals recommended ARS to me, but when I first called them they said they couldnt get my car into the shop for several days. Because I was in a hurry I went somewhere else-- and that somewhere else tried to rip me off saying I needed major repairs that would cost major $$. Smelling something fishy, I decided to wait for ARS to have an opening, and that was a great decision. ARS made a minor repair that got my vehicle going again for a price that was less than the bogus diagnosis session at the other place.If youre in Cheyenne and need your car fixed, go to ARS for good service and a good price.

They just completed service to one of my vehicles. It was done quickly, it was easy to get in and out and all that I dealt with were very courteous. Took my jeep there and they told me I needed to replace my engine because I had blow by... I took it somewhere else and they told me just the radiator... After replacing the radiator it ran fine till I rolled it years later... Either they are dishonest or incompetent. Either one is bad.

ARS is always honest about repairs for our autos. They never sell us a part or service we do not need, and their pricing is always reasonable.
