They only take cash! No ones carrying cash these days.There are many safer ways to pay.More importantly, if you call them, they dont inform you CASH ONLY!! The business use to look professional from the outside and in the lobby area. It looks abandoned now. Make some improvements with all that available cash.

Truly relieved to know that they performed a job well done on my 2009 Jeep Patriot! They took the time to inspect & reconfirmed that I needed a wheel bearing hub which eliminated the rattling noise from my back left tire! The crew is mature & wise mechanics...they know what they’re doing!

I needed some work done on my Murano. Front steering was making a creaking sound. Called and was given a good price. Took my truck in, told them the issue and that the front shocks and struts were brand new. They call me later and tell my inner tire rods were bad. So I went on and had it done for $680. Got my truck, found a piece is pizza sausage on my passenger seat and they left oil smudges on my hood, doors, interior. And creaking still wasnt fixed. I called back and the guy tells me you need quick struts which is basically the shocks and struts that were already installed. Ive tried giving them my business again, but after this never again. Go somewhere else. Took it to Camms in Homewood. Got me fixed in a day. Definitely recommend them.

The best deal yet including parts and labor $250 for rear brakes and rotors for my 2014 Buick Verano the mechanics are amazing everywhere else was telling me $320 and up I highly recommend

Poor customer. Service, non negotiable. Just wanted and oil change and tire pressure check. But since it wasnt in the packaged, i couldnt get what i needed. So instead of oil change for $25 . I got the $40 package.

I received a custom exhaust system. Work is excellent and timely. My only complaint is that they are a cash only business.

Horrible service. Got the wrong part/brake caliper twice. Didn’t say anything to me until I asked how much longer. Then the manager said we sometimes use the vin number to order parts. Well why didn’t you use the vin number?I asked for a discount since I’d been there 4 hours plus. He said not their fault concerning the parts company. He then said compare prices and they’re better. I’ll never go back or recommend them. A still couldn’t fix the root of the problem. Blamed it all on the parts company. Communication skills are lacking. Not to mention cash only once you get there. They don’t mention it over the phone. Never again.

I brought my truck here three weeks ago for an oil change and they left the filter wrong. I got left on the side of the highway because of all the oil that leaked out. I had to pay for someone to come and pick me up to tow truck, cleaning of the truck because the oil made a mess everywhere, and for them to fix the problem. The mechanic at the other place told me that since I had run the truck without oil that in the near future, the engine could stop working. Ive never been to a mechanic shop where they disregard their clients like this, especially after an error as big as this. I was told that it was not their problem since it hadnt happened the day of. If I could give them zero stars I would. Dont come here unless you want to pay them to mess up your car on purpose.

The car won’t start AT ALL or even crank up, this wasn’t even why we came! The car NEVER had a problem starting. waited 4 hours and now my car is worse than it was when I brought it here.

Ok but took too long for the guy to come out

I went here to get exhaust work done in the past and recently went back to get my catalytic converters replaced along with a flex pipe. Although the job took a pretty long time, things appeared to look finished until the mechanic Terry came in and got me and told me I needed a new alternator. I explained to him that my alternator was replaced recently in January of 2020. He showed me results on a test he ran and basically my car would not accelerate or barely stay running after the work was completed. Obviously he told me that he didnt do anything or have to touch the alternator to replace the cats however I did not have any issues or trouble codes before going here to get work done. To make a long story short, it was later found that my alternator harness clip was broken which caused the plug to come out. After being charged $250 for labor on a alternator replacement (that I didnt need) the manager did not refund me my money. It turned out the issue all along was a $5 harness clip that I bought online and eventually replaced myself. I dont see myself going here again anytime soon.The replacement of my cats did resolve my issue but I left with issues that I did not come with and I feel like the shop did not handle it properly or own the situation.

Do not let these people work on your car. I took mine in for a catalytic converter and when I got it back my vehicle was making a different noise it wasnt making before I left it there. When I brought it back the mechanic told me it was my engine and they didnt have time to diagnose it. Dont even bother asking for the manager or owner they are just as bad they dont care once theyve got your money nothing else matters

If you are first there when they open for a quick service and 10 people arrive with high cost repair, they service by customers with most expensive repairs first.Inexperienced workers. Good prices but not worth horrendous experience.Try at your own risk but this will no longer be a consideration for auto service for us.

Good work and a decent price for custom bent dual exhaust with Flowmasters on my 79 Cordoba. In and out in under 3 hours. Cheaper than every other muffler shop I visited

After going to Bettenhausen Dodge $2,000 Firestone $800 and another place for $1,300 I was able to get my muffler repaired for $200 thank you! Staff was off awesome! My only down, would be having Lobby a little cleaner.

They have signs everywhere for oil but dont do oil changes ok. I come back and they say they cant do a simple tune up. Used to be a great place but they will waste your time making the trip theyve definitely lost a loyal customer

I love that they never try to sell me on anything other than what I come in and ask for. The mechanics are also very informative and helpful. Where as other shops may see female customers as a chance to manipulate and make more money, I never feel pressured or uncomfortable in this shop. The prices and services are listed very clearly and the young woman at the front desk is congenial and friendly. I will continue to come here as long as I live in the area.

Valasquez seriously saved me hundreds. Took my whip to a Midas and they quoted me something astronomical. Turns out what they quoted me for was not the problem. They were ready to do work that was completely unnecessary. Valasquez got to the issue and had me out within an hour. I will absolutely be going back to them.

My vehicle had stopped and it was sputtering when I accelerated. I took it to auto zone and the reading was a cadillac converter. I took it there and thats what they said it was so I got it fixed. After my car was still sputtering but the check engine light was no longer on. My daughter looked up the problems it said fuel pump or injectors. I took it back they said it was the EGR valve and the crank shaft. I asked could it be the fuel pump or fuel injectors they said it didnt read for that. I trusted them and got that fixed then my car stopped on the expressway. I took it back and explained what happened the owner himself said he couldnt do anything it wasnt reading for anything and he didnt want to see me everyday so if he could he would tell me whats wrong. He was cold and unsympathetic although all together I paid 750.00 and my car was doing exactly what it was doing when I hrought it to them. Learned a valuable lesson ... always get a second opinion...he said even GMC couldnt get a reading. I thought mechanics went off more than just a machine. I found a mechanic hooked my car to a computer saw my amps werent going up when I pressed the gas and said it was the fuel pump.

Inexpensive oil change

I have been going to Valasquez and Sons since they had their shop in Hammond. Their work is so good...and the prices so unbeatable? I was happy to make the 40 minute drive to have them work on my exhaust. This time around? They cut the competitors by MORE than half. WITH warranty.

Will never return. I just went in Saturday after speaking with the office receptionist about pricing and being told they could service me. When I arrived I was told they could not see me to come in Monday morning at 7am, which was understandable at the time. I arrived this morning at 7a. At 745a an older couple arrived, and at 752a a woman and her child arrived. The woman waits at the door until the owner/manager pulls up at 756a and immediately starts speaking to him. The older couple give him their keys and speak with him about their car as well. When he gets to me I inform him that I arrived at 7am as he instructed me to do on Saturday, I was there before everyone else, and that I had business to handle for the day. He proceeds to take my keys and tells me it will be an hour. As I walk outside to speak on the phone he proceeds to take the other peoples vehicles and leaves mine to go speak with other customers. 10 minutes I explain myself to him again and advise that I have been here since 7a and was here before everyone else. He tells me he does not work on the cars he just pulls them inside and tells his guys what to do on each car. At this time no one else that works there was there. So I tell him to give me my keys so I can go. Mind you everyone that did come after me was complaining about work that was done there and has caused other issues with their car. He had no regard for the hour of my time that was wasted and no customer service skills. All around poor experience and I will never return.

He wanted my brother to pay 1050.00 for a gas line and a oil change when I snapped off in the store about it he followed us outside and said go get a price match and bring it back and he would do it for that price . If you charged us the right amount why would you want us to come back for a price match . I told him we won’t be working with him period . Women please beware because if he is getting over on men just imagine what he is charging woman .

HONEST And PROFESSIONAL

I was told they are changing my alternator and belt but change alternator and did not put a new belt. Could not get car started after few minutes of driving to get gas in the car. And to find out belt was not changed.I did return to request for my belt to be changed and request for the old alternator but told to pay extra $60 for Core price which I was not informed and not aware and did not understand why I could not have my old part back.This not fair and they are just not to be trusted.Moreover when it comes to changing anything in your car keep your eye open and be sure they do what they told you.

This was a car repair shop I relied on for at least the past 5 years. But in my last visit, I was getting new brakes installed. They finished the job and sent me on my way. I got about 500 feet out of their lot, and my rear driver side tire fell off. My tire bounced across a busy intersection almost hitting 3 cars. I was lucky enough to be next to a gas station entrance, so I pulled in. I then noticed my other rear tire was also loose. My rear bumper was knocked halfway off from the impact of my rear end hitting the street. This incompetence couldve gotten people seriously hurt or worse. Management was verbally apologetic, and inspected the car for damages and vowed to fix any damages, but I found out that they let the Mechanic who caused all the problems, make the repairs too. Theres no telling what he covered up to not lose his job.

They have no clue what they are doing,I ended up with a broken car And the manager didnt even care, his workers are careless as well

DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! Had my car towed here on sat due to shutting down and not restarting got my car back monday and Tuesday the exactl same problems still present! Car jumping and cutting off at every light and stop sign dropped the car back off wed and after sitting for 2 hours was told they couldnt fix it because they didnt know what wrong and was sent on my way only to get to my car in the parking lot and the car start doing the exact same thing immediately witb with engine line on before I could even pull off!! They keep asking me the same questions about when did I 1st pick it up, what did they say was wrong, and what the car kept doing that brought me here. I feel like they rushed my car on the 1st initial visit and now have no clue on how to fix it they are now trying to blame it on my oil smh and not mention their attitudes are so nonchalant and whatever about your situation....STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

This would be my second time going to Velasquez. They do really good work and a lot cheaper than the competition. However, I left an item in my glove box, got my car back and it was gone. Im 99% sure someone there open my glove box and took it because it cant magically disappear. I always put my loose items in my glove box whenever I hand my keys over. No one there was any help. The manager was supposed to call me the next day after looking at the cameras and its been a week with no calls. I highly recommend looking somewhere else because these people go through your personal belonging and no one there is going to do anything about it.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! 2 hour or more wait time just for an oil change!! RUDE front desk! She barely acknowledges the customers talking to her except her friends or family. They dont let you know if it will be a long wait time if they are experiencing delays. They only take debit for large purchases that they inflate the price for. Too many signs in the lobby, windows, etc. that they assume the customers reads without communicating directly to them. HORRIBLE SERVICE!

Took my vehicle here to get a feel for the place, heard they had good prices and was cheap. I dont just trust anyone to work on my car and for good reasons like this. I am ASE Certified technician my self, so I do know about cars. Im just to old and to lazy these days to be out in the cold working on the ground. So I took my vehicle here to get a front end greasing, My ball joints where bone dry and the boots where completely compressed and empty. With the winter season coming up, it was something that was a must to have done. I previously checked them my self when i did my last oil change and looked into doing it my self but a grease gun cost 35.00 bucks and grease is like 6 bucks. They only charged 15.00 for the service, and i was pleasantly surprised with that, so it sounded like a win win for me to just let them do it, it was more cost effective.It was a 3 hr wait, they could have easily sent a guy out to squirt grease in the ball joints in less then 3 min, but I understand first come first serve. after the long 3+ hr wait, they finally pulled my car out. I took it home, pulled it in my garage and check the ball joints. They didnt even put any grease in them, the boots was still compressed and dry. I didnt bother going back and arguing over it with them, I was too disgusted and angry over my time being wasted and didnt want to go up there and acting a fool and all they see is a guy angry over 15.00 dollars even so thats not the point.Long story short, If I cant trust them to do a simple front end greasing, then theres no way I would trust this place with anything else. Even so this was a simple repair, It was a repair I need to prevent further damage from happening to my vehicle. By them taking the actions of not doing it, this could have led to my ball joint failing and braking, me losing control of my vehicle and possibly crashing, injury or even death depending on when where and how it would have broke. And if I would have never check, then I would have never known it was never done and with winter and pot hole season upon us, the ball joint would have definitely failed.With that said, I will not be going back to this place, cheap prices are nice but you can not put a value on your life, I will not be taking a gamble with them again. Do not trust these people with your car and your life.

Go here all the time for oil change. Be careful they will change prices on you for synthetic oil. They charge you for a basic oil change which is $19.95, and then on top of that $27.00 for the synthetic. Just have 2 different packages. A basic oil change pkg.,and a synthetic oil pkg.

Cheapest place around to get your oil changed. But get there early or your not getting done at all. Theres always a line started 30 minutes before they even open.

My pipe was broke in front of muffler. After 2 quotes of $280 and $200 went to Velasquez and $65 later I was back on the road.

Horrible place... This place kept my car for over a month...lying to me every week about doing the work... costing me $2300 in car rental, waiting on them! Then to only get my car back and NOTHING was repaired... they didnt charge me anything because they didnt do any of the repairs! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME

Stay away unless you are just getting an oil change. For over 6 years I have been a very loyal oil change customer so they seems like the obvious choice when my car started having engine problems. I went in there because I had a check engine light and was charged $50 for them to tighten a Bolt. I was very happy until I got to my car and Not only was my check engine light still on but my car was not accelerating so I went back in and they told me it was an intake manifold gasket and would be $450. I had them fix it, paid the money, and still when I got my car the check engine light was still on and I was done with that place. Now here I am a month later my intake manifold gasket just exploded when it was supposedly brand new and fixed. I am livid and will never go there again, stay away. Theres a huge difference between actual mechanics and guys that work on cars that think they are mechanics, do yourself a favor and go to the real ones instead of Velasquez.

Worst - place - ever! I took my car to this shop because a mechanic at their shop told me they could correct the bend on exhaust pipes currently on my car. I arrived at the shop at 9:00 Saturday morning. Upon approaching the receptionist, I was instructed to input my name and car info to a sign-in sheet that included a small line to note the service wanted. After doing so, the young woman took the sheet and said nothing; no you may have a seat or a service advisor will be in to see you. She said nothing. I had to ask her if there would a service advisor to speak with prior to work being done and the approximate duration of my wait. Only then did she offer any information regarding an hour wait. I stated I would leave and asked to have an advisor telephone me after examining my car but before doing any work. No telephone call. I went back to the shop after an hour and noticed my car had been moved. I approached the receptionist and asked for information since I had not received a call; she informed me the mechanic wanted to replace 2 pipes. I informed her of my prior request and asked to speak to the mechanic who approached and provided me a quote for reshaping the existing pipes. I asked for a time estimate and the mechanic said he would check with the exhaust guy. The mechanic did not return. I instructed the receptionist to have the pipes reshaped based on the mechanics quote and call me when finished. I left to run errands, received no call prior to finishing my errands and therefore returned to the shop. Upon arriving, I noticed my car on the lift but no one working on it. An hour later, as I noticed the lift was lowered and my car removed to the lot, I approached the mechanic who drove it and asked if the repair was made. We needed you to okay 2 new pipes he said. I told him I just wanted the current pipes reshaped as they told me could be done since they were relatively new. He told me to talk to the receptionist and he could have me out in half an hour. I went back to the receptionist and explained what the mechanic told me. She disappeared into the shop for 25 minutes while I waited. When she returned, she sat down at her desk, she did not motion me to give me an update, nor did she call my name to give me an update. I courteously gave her 5 minutes before approaching the desk to ask for an update. Only then did she tell me the mechanic said he could not reshape the pipes. I went to Velasquez for a specialty service. Perhaps they do good work but I could not attest to it. They certainly seem low budget and lack professionalism, especially in the receptionist area; other than prices for oil changes, there are prices for no other services posted. Youll get a quote after your car is examined and a mechanic speaks with you. I noticed a few of the clientele were returnees who were having corrective work done from a previous visit there. After wasting 5 and a half hours of my day with these people, there is no way I would recommend them for anything. Not even a snooze.

Quick, reasonably priced service. As in most auto repair facilities, it is best if you have some knolledge of automobiles so you understand what they are telling you is actually needed.

Ive used the shop in Chicago Heights for oil changes for about 3 years. I also purchased a set of new tires there about 2 years ago at a very reasonable price. My only complaint is that the receptionist needs to get a smile. She seems to be in a bad mood every time I go there.There are 4 different oil change services you can choose from, and the prices for each are clearly posted. If all you want is the oil replaced, a $20 bill gets that for you. Remember, however, this is a Full Service repair facility.

Work seemed excellent, just picked up the car, brakes were replaced and it is running and stopping great!

Price is good, but the mechanics spend more time in front flirting with the receptionist then they do working on your car.

Here I am bringing them a foreign, My gut said leave after the young lady couldnt answer what I asked her and just threw me prices and trying to talk to him and me at the same time... Horrible service. Inefficient and unorganized. Dropped my car off at 10:30 and was told it would take 3-4 hours. Came back after 4 hours and my car was still in the same spot it was left in. I then sat in shop and waited an additional 3 hours for them to fix my car. I am NEVER going back here again!

They NEVER let me know when my car is ready and the lady lied about how long the wait was. She told me 30min wait and I seriously was waiting for at least 2h 30min... and probably would have been longer if I didnt ask her if my car was ready because they didnt let me know anything until I asked.

I have used this shop for exhaust work BFORE. The prices are real good . and they are buzy ther, so u mite have to wait awile.. But after the girl rights up your ticket, a wile later thill get your keys and bring car in . . later if you have any problems o n what they fixed thill fix agan with no questions asked

Under new management .. Prices higher now. They charge for stuff the old management would do for free. Might just stick with Midas for those prices
