I made the (poor) decision to mail myself a sentimental and delicate ceramic leopard statue from Arizona to Illinois in June. When it arrived, it was cracked in half and one of the back paws was completely shattered. I was devastated, and I had no idea where to begin with repairing it.I talked to Michelle + Bill at Broken Art Restoration and they said theyd be able to take a look at it for free and determine what kind of damage had been done and provide an estimate for repairs. I took my statue to their studio in Momence, IL and instantly felt comforted by them, they are truly the BEST. I really enjoyed chatting with them after Bill mocked my repair up with tape and explained the process of what theyd be doing to repair it and what it would look like afterwards.I returned to pick up my statue about 2 months later and let me tell you.....it was INCREDIBLE. They worked their magic and my leopard statue looks just as I remember it before it was broken. I am so incredibly thankful for their expertise, warmth, kindness, skill, and wonderful customer service. I am so pleased with their work and would ABSOLUTELY recommend them to anyone in the midwest who needs art or antiques repaired.10/10 experience! Thank you Bill + Michelle!!! :-)
Like others writing reviews, brought in a beloved piece of art - a Lladro figurine called Tango Dancers that had been shattered by our normally careful cleaning lady. We first saw it in Sausalito and were happy when we were able to get it through eBay. It was (and is again) a valued piece of artwork in our home.We did not have hope it could be fully restored to look as new but brought it to Broken Art for a look after finding them online. After examining the fragments, they said they could do it and we left it in their care. Several months later - these restorations take time but its worth the wait - we could not believe what a fantastic job they did. The figurine really does look new (see picture). We cant tell any difference between how it was originally and the restored version. It sits proudly again on its stand. We have a new issue with another LLadro - Jazz Trio - this one being my fault. While trying to rescue a fish that leapt out of the aquarium during feeding, I knocked over a light fixture that landed exactly on top of the figurine. This one was really shattered badly. Based on our first experience though, we have gathered up the pieces and plan to bring them to Broken Art for a look. We trust that if anyone can restore the mess I created, it is them.My highest recommendation and they are nice people too.
Absolute craftsmen (and women). True artists. I trusted them with the most valued treasure and they did not disappoint.
Excellent craftsmanship! Dont even know that is was repaired. Wonderful person to work with. Expert with Lladro Figurines.
