I am writing this review in the hopes that it will help this coffee shop, which is relatively good but appears to suffer greatly from an inability to manage their cafe. I am here on a Saturday morning where there are approximately a dozen patrons and although there are 4 people working in the bakery, there is only one person at the front making all the coffees and serving all the orders. This is of course a comically bad way to run your cafe and I feel horrible for the singular service staff. I understand that this is also a bakery, and I will withhold my judgement when it comes to the quality and especially consistency of their baked good, but I still think you should manage the cafe properly. This place is a hidden gem. Great tasting pastries and some of the best pour overs you can get in the city. Make sure to add it to your bucket list of cool coffee shops in Chicago.

Finally tried this place after walking past it for months, and I wish I would have tried it sooner. The staff was very friendly and helpful as soon as I walked in. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and cold brew coffee, and both were fantastic. The only downside of this place is that the store’s limited hours makes it hard for me to go there sometimes. Still, I’ll be back to try more of their menu soon!
This place is great. I was just walking through the neighborhood exploring and noticed it. The coffee is some of the best if not the best coffee Ive had since moving to Chicago. The pour over is amazing and when they arent busy the people working are super awesome to talk with.
Just moved into the neighborhood and I was really enjoying their product but after reading responses to reviews on here it sounds like they need new less bitter ownership and will not be supporting anymore.

Everything was absolutely fantastic. The drip coffee and cinnamon rolls were so flavorful. However, each item my group ordered was more expensive than we expected it to be. The drip coffee was great, but we were not aware that each relatively small cup was 4 dollars. Beyond that, we really enjoyed the place.
Despite what appeared to be a full staff, we waited 30 minutes for our food. Theres no menu to be found, except on a small placard right next to the register.There are exactly two tables on which to sit, so make sure you get your food to go from here.I ordered a grilled cheese on sourdough, told immediately they were out of sourdough.Ordered a ham and Swiss, told after 25 minutes of waiting that they were out of ham. Seriously. But the guy behind me in line ordered the same thing, and was handed a Ham & Swiss before I was.I expect this place is super nice if they have what you want and dont mind waiting. The quality of the food was great, but very small for the price. The staff was also super friendly.But the wait. Seriously. Maybe it was a super isolated incident, due in part to a show at Thalia Hall having just let out, but the 20-minute wait to be told i couldnt have the Ham and Swiss should have been addressed when I ordered.Theyre hiring. They need the help.
My first visit was great - the morning bun, though the coffee was overpriced. They only have pour over. The next day I went to get the biscuit which I also considered the day before. They tried to sell me the stale on one display and it tasted just that. I asked for a replacement and they didnt bother heating it this time. Shady business.

The neighborhood could use more cute sit down coffee shops to do some work or creative projects on your laptop. The shop sits only 12 but works nonetheless. Tried the chamomile tea and pour over coffee - pretty good!Also, we had a very friendly lady that served us our drinks and was super attentive and detailed.Only negative I have is there is no public restroom. Ouch. Coffee can really go through you.
Wonderful variety of different coffees. We ordered two different roasts for pour overs and they were delicious! The homemade rye bread and jam was also excellent. Great atmosphere, amazing service!
This place smells amazing! Unfortunately, there arent any GF options so I can only hope a friend tells me the goods taste as good as they smell.The staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful in choosing the pour over I wanted. I went with the Ethiopian, and the coffee flavors are exactly as described. For those who care, they serve counter culture coffee.
Amazing service. Amazing pour over coffee. Honestly, the vegan oatmeal fruit and nut cookie keeps me coming back. I love this place.
Worst hours. Whenever I want to stop in, closed. Every. Time. The customer service is nothing to write home about either. There are like a million coffee shops in this neighborhood so I’d take a stroll down the st instead.
The only thing remotely special about this place is that they are never open. The food and coffee is overpriced.

Coffee: good!Quiche: bacon one my husband liked a lot, veggie for me was decentMuffins: avoid, mine (lemon poppyseed) was stale and dry (definitely not made today which was disappointing considering we were at a bakery) I also thought the “fruit one” was “lemon poppyseed blueberry” but it was lemon poppyseed or blueberry which wasn’t clarified when I ordered. I ordered a chocolate muffin for my husband but he was given a blueberry instead. We didn’t realize the error there because we took it to-go. Also a so-so muffin. Bummer.
