This place is great with the variety of toys for children any age. The train sets they have in stock are the best.

Strongly recommend all parents out there with kids with special needs to not come in here!!! People here are rude and I had to yell at the staff that my child had special needs and obviously I can read the sign that says to wear mask for kids 2 and up. Instead going about my business and not draw attention to my child I have to be embarrassed in front of other customer and explain myself. It’s just unbelievable and ruined an afternoon that was suppose to be fun.

Ive lost count how many times Ann and her team have gone above and beyond for our family. The personalized service, recommendations, and care in packaging gifts can never be replicated by an algorithm or online retailer. In particular they have great advice on gifts for grade school kids.Play is an essential part of the neighborhood in Logan Square, and the other locations are wonderful too.

Play is always my go to for gifts! At the beginning of the pandemic I needed a last minute baby shower gift. I called play since their in-store shopping hours didn’t work for me and the woman I talked to was very helpful and accommodating. She made recommendations based on my price point and even directed me online where I could see images of the items she was recommending. When I arrived for the pick up, my items were even gift wrapped in the sweetest wrapping!! I’m going to see my nephew, who the gift was initially for, for the first time since the pandemic started and will be stopping by Play to pick up another gift. They are the best and I highly recommend supporting this small business!!

Toy store is beautifully curated and prices are just right! However we did not feel welcomed and girl at the counter was rude but I’m going to assume it has to do with the pandemic times since we heard such great things about this store. Here’s the thing: I WANT TO SUPPORT LOCAL even though I could buy everything for cheaper online. A kind attitude goes a long way❤️

Awesome toy store with great service. I was trying to get a gift in a hurry, and had a couple of questions. I called the store and Dominique was so incredibly helpful. She took pictures of the toys that seemed to match what I was looking for and then when I made a decision she wrapped the present in the shape of a piece of candy. It was one of the most pleasant shopping experiences I have ever had. I will go to them first for all my gifts from now on.

Dominique is an angel! The way Play has pivoted during the pandemic ensures Ill be a customer forever. I called hoping to place an order of books for a range of ages and she put together 4 collections options, sent pictures for me to choose from and had them gift wrapped and ready to go in just a few hours for contactless pick-up.

I dont live in Chicago, but I did receive *plays gorgeous holiday catalog this year, and in an effort to shop local, coordinated a one-on-one call with someone from the team (thank you, Bailey!) to do my shopping from afar. Not only did they go out of my way to accomodate my distanced request, but Bailey *showed* *up* for every single gift request I had! They helped me find a gorgeous, thoughtful, kid-approved gift for each of my nieces and nephews as well as my 17-month-old. AND TO BOOT, they wrapped it beautifully for me and sent it up to Wisconsin for an incredibly reasonable shipping cost (peanuts, truly). I cannot sing the praises of *play enough-- this is the kind of thoughtful, awesome local biz that I feel so incredibly lucky to have (semi-)nearby. Thank you, *play, for making my Chrismas shopping so much fun (and so easy)!

This is my favorite place to buy gifts for my nieces and nephews! They have a highly curated selection of toys, books, and a helpful staff. They also do a wonderful job gift wrapping 🙌, Ive heard they will gift wrap items not purchased at the store (if theyre not busy) for a few dollars.

Play is the quintessential locally owned business. Exceptional curation of toys. They provide free gift wrapping that always exceeds expectations. And great advice on gifts for children. No visit to Logan Square is complete without a stop here. When I think about how to increase local shopping - I think about businesses like Play. They know their market, and serve it well.

I was the delivery driver for the store and hands down the most amazing staff!! But an extra hats off to the most loving woman that works there that helped me thru one of the hardest days of my life. Also, the owner is pretty awesome as well! Not to mention the amount of toys!

As it’s big it was great to be able to sit down and get a drink/snack.There are many toys to choose between, but what makes this shop stand out is the salesmen/women/demonstrators on every floor showing you toys.

A wonderful little toy store with a helpful staff that can help pick out just the right gift. They also provide gift wrapping which is really helpful when you are stopping by Play right before attending a childs party. Bonus: they have story time twice a week, Tuesdays at 11am and Thursdays at 3pm but during the holiday season they suspend story time, best bet is to call just to make sure.

What a great old-school toy store! An interesting selection of toys arranged in a maze-like fashion that encourages wandering and browsing. The customer service is great also. I came here looking for a stuffed animal my son lost. The two staff members behind the cash register looked through their stock lists online and through catalogs trying to help me track down the maker of the stuffed animal. Also great selection of those tiny cheap toys for stocking stuffers and goodie bags.

This is a great toy shop. Excellent selection of interesting new and classic toys for all ages. Free gift wrapping. Its our go-to for birthday gifts.

This is a really cute little toy store, which I have been to just once. Id give it more stars, but it didnt seem like they had a very big inventory, and from what I could see it was aimed at very young children. 3 stars for that, and that Ive been to toy stores with the same amount of space... but still managed to offer a nice variety of fun things for everyone. Worth checking out if you go to the farmers market right outside the back door.

The selection here is very well curated, I wanted to buy everything! They have many toys that are not gender specific in case you want to stock up on hand me downs. The staff were also super friendly. This is going to be my new spot for toys!

Great high quality and unique toys. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are higher than a chain but the toys are quality and the gift wrapping is helpful when youre late to a birthday party.

A hidden gem in da neighborhood

I Love the Music and Story time twice a week they have.when the weather is nice they do it out side.

My daughter is 10 and she enjoyed visiting the shop although it was quite a bit more difficult to find than anticipated. I would describe the selection of toys as relatively limited but worth a look. I was happy to support the local business though and my daughter found several items she enjoys so the trip was a success and we will of course go back for another visit soon. Oh one thing that stood out they had an awesome selection of Pusheen plushies which my daughter loves she got the Narwhal. 😁

Dizzying shelves chock-full of toys, games, books, and more for your child, starting from infant and well-into the near-tweens. I found myself gazing at the options and wondering why couldnt I be a kid again. Note the careful array of toy figurines, tiny enough to miss. I couldnt keep my toddler from wanting to take everything down, so beware if you have a charge with very curious eyes and hands - you may not leave for a few hours.

Always a great selection and friendly staff. We always find something for our kids and for birthday gifts.

Unlike the pricer Shop 1021, *play is affordable and a great place to buy gifts for the young and old. Ive bought my boyfriend many an anniversary and birthday gift at the store. Kits, dominos, figurines, robots, what have you. The people who work there are always friendly and I love going in with my out of town friends to get baby gifts and other trinkets for little ones. Once Im a mom all my playmobile and fancy wooden puzzles are coming from this store.
