Harrys altered my hubbys classic Gucci belt...he lost a few pounds (go figure). The salesperson at the Gucci store on Michigan Avenue highly recommended Harrys. Were from Michigan so as promised, the belt was shipped via FedEx. They even text the tracking information and ETA. Bravo Harrys!

Recently we were in Chicago for an extended period of time and my father had tasked Harrys with repairing a pair of shoes that are very sentimental to him. Peter was our point of contact and he did an amazing job at communicating what needed to be done and what the exact timeline would be for completion in both a professional and personable manner. The shoes came out flawless, almost better than new. Thank you so much to the staff as a whole for taking care of us and even shipping the shoes when we left. That being said, if you are looking for an amazing result this is the place! Do not expect speedy service, as Harrys puts an emphasis on delivering a quality product instead of just rushing through in order to make a quick buck. Thank you all again!

I am thrilled with the outcome of my repair on my favorite Frye heeled booties. I’ve worn them probably 500 times. They did the best job I’ve seen repairing the damaged leather on the heels, and reattaching the sole to the body of the boot where it was beginning to separate. I’ve had these boots repaired twice before at other shops and this is the best result I’ve seen. They also polished up the leather and wood soles - a professional touch.

I had one bad experience at Harrys a few years ago. The heels he put on a pair of boots fell off within a week or two. But I have given him a second chance more recently and have been pleased. Hes done a good job cleaning my shoes and the heel replacements have all been fine. Hes also personable and reasonably priced for the area.

BEWARE - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My shoes were with them for 2+ months due to personal travel (it was around 75 days to be exact). I brought in the ticket to pick them up only to findout he threw my shoes away. He told me My policy is 120 days- except it was LESS than 120 days and no body bothered to call me. Had anyone called and warned me about this policy, I would have obviously come sooner!! My shoes were expensive. Given I had prepaid for the shoes to be cleaned, I demanded he refund me for the amount he refused me my money with no explanation. He wouldnt even make eye contact with me- it was downright rude. He ripped up the ticket in front of me, so that I had no physical records to hold against him. This man is disrespectful and the business has no standards. I will never ever do business here again.

This would be zero stars if possible. I took my Gucci bucket bag in for a new lining. Two months was the time it would take. It did not get done and they told me they are shutting down for a month for vacation and I could have it in two more months. There was never any communication about the month long closing. I went to pick it up to take it elsewhere and I am glad I did. It was very obviously smashed under a pile of something. The leather at the bottom was torn where it once was perfect, and there was a stain. Also, it was badly smashed and the shape is odd now. Dont take anything nice or valuable there unless it can be repaired right before your eyes. Or better yet, find a place that cares about their service.

Brought my Valentino’s back to life.I destroyed my beloved shoes and was worried to have them repaired. Harry’s took carry of them. The repair was a little pricey ~$200. However I’m very pleased with their craftsmanship.

I brought my favorite pair of boots here for polishing and to get rubber soles added. The gentlemen had them done the next day and had done a lovely job. I will definitely come back next time I need work done on my shoes.

Harry s father opened this place they do fine work and there is no question about it. An all around true craftsman . the world needs more businesses like this. Less tech more skill.

I brought them my torn, stained shoes and boots with a borken zipper, hoping to wear my favorite ones for one or two more seasons. Now I got them back and they look very refreashed and feel comfy again. I guess I could wear them much longer than I expected! (They even fixed the soles of the shoes as a service.) Great quality and service. I will def. use them again.

You could completely miss this place if you werent looking, but it seems like quite the find - friendly & helpful staff that are good at repairing shoes. They repaired my much-maligned boot heels that had barely weathered the winter, and the price seemed fair. They also noted that the replacement heels will last longer than the original boot heel... Ill be going back here next time I need a shoe fix!

This man is a MIRACLE worker. He brought my stained suede Manolos back to LIFE. He has also restored many pairs of Stuart Weitzman’s for me as well as a pair of Loeffler Randall’s. Things are always ready on time and the price is unbelievable. I could not recommend this place more or be happier with their service - they seriously know what they’re doing.

I have come here multiple times for repair of my Louboutin and Valentino shoes, and I will continue to do so. They do a quality job on my shoes at a pretty decent price considering what I paid for the shoes originally. One time, I came pick to something up and it wasnt ready on time, but he apologized and gave me a discount. No issues otherwise.

These guys were a dream. Needed my only pair of heels fixed fast during fashion week, and they had it done in 15 minutes -- my repaired heel actually feels better than the original one.

A brand new pair of Christian Louboutins were ruined when I accidentally stepped into a drain grate on a restaurant floor while traveling in Chicago...Harrys Gold Coast Shoe Repair was recommended to me, but I didnt have time to stop in. When I returned home I shipped the shoes and Peter took care of them. Amazing is all I can say...the destroyed heels were repaired to look like brand new! Worth the time, cost & effort to use Harrys Gold Coast from out of town. I will tell all my friends and clients to use Harrys, especially for expensive designer shoes.

Prepare to pay big bucks here. They are definitely overpriced.

AVOID--THIEVES!Beware an incredibly expensive business without any conscience or customer service standards.They say they threw my $1200 boots from Barneys away! I dropped them off over the holidays, tried to pick them up 4 times and encountered a closed business, called them and let them know Id be away the first 2 weeks of January, and was told, No Problem.. He even shadily took my ticket and promised to call me and deliver my boots that evening, and when I followed up a couple days later, he admitted to me he literally threw my boots away because they were there for over 30 days. No concession to holiday travel, no warning when I dropped the boots off, and no courtesy call letting me know this would happen. AVOID at all costs--read the Yelp reviews that bemoan terrible work standards and other peoples cherished footwear thrown away!

I appreciate that he told me straight up that it would cost less to buy new shoes then to repair the ones I had (they were in really bad shape).
