Staff are extremely helpful and kind. I came in with a cold and sore throat and they made me the best tea. Its a small local business and a bit expensive for sure but it is great quality and they staff are exceptional.

What a great experience. The vibe inside is light and welcoming. I have NEVER had a better avocado toast. It wasn’t on the menu - it was recommended at the register- but it was everything an avocado toast should be.

I had a very negative experience yesterday with an older male employee who was very rude to me when I was just trying to get connected to the wifi. After this awful encounter, I do not intend to go back. It’s unfortunate as I’ve frequented Doppio a lot to get work done. Good customer service is just as important!

The only thing I regret is not being able to give it more stars than 5. What a beautiful place! The presentation, coffee, Ancient Grain platter loved it all. Wish it were everywhere in the States. Doppio is a great neighborhood coffee house, and has become a regular stop for me. Their coffee and drinks are delicious and they have a unique selection of homemade open-faced sandwiches, pastries, and snacks. Really nice coffee shop with a cozy atmosphere. We ordered an oat milk flat white, which was a little more like a latte than wed usually like but the espresso was very good. Love that they offer oat milk! We also had the chocolate croissant which was very good as well.Seems like it would be a great place to get a cup of coffee and do some work for a few hours. Well definitely be back!

I literally never write reviews but I LOVE this place. I’m constantly looking for new go to coffee places in the area and this is by far my favorite. Everyone here is so kind, the coffee is great, and the food is awesome. My favorite part of my week is going here for breakfast on my day off.

Doppio is my favorite coffee place in Lakeview! The owners are super friendly & welcoming and support local artists - there are always beautiful photos and artwork decorating the walls. The drinks and food are amazing too! My favorites are lavender lattes and the blueberry cheesecake danish. The open faced sandwiches are also delicious so I definitely recommend trying those as well!

Excellent coffee! The service is amazing as well. Every time I visit my sister in Chicago, I love to stop in for a shot of espresso, some beans to take home and a tasty pastry or donut.

This was a terrible experience. After asking twice about a drip being included with a bag of coffee, the older man insisted on ringing me up. I will never go back here, as he was not friendly or communicative. Seeming like the owner, I don’t feel the need to be so stingy and impersonal. Grow up and get out of the coffee business if you to make more profit.

This place is one of the most delightfully delicious and darling coffee shops! I went with my husband and I instantly fell in loooovvveeeee. The shop itself was so toasty and cozy, to where it felt like there was a fireplace in the seating area, but nope! The coffee is yummy and comes in these huge mugs that are perfect for warming up your hands (not too hot) on a cold wintery day. The owner of the place is also one of the sweetest and most down to earth people I have ever met. Oh, and as a huge bonus... their open faced sandwiches taste like home in the Mediterranean! I recommended the eggplant with sweet peppers. 🤤 We will definitely be back!!EDIT: Weve been back many times and will continue to do so. Its always a special treat to come here...♥️

I’ve been anxiously awaiting for this local coffee shop to open, and it’s well-worth the wait! I appreciated the no frills coffee menu and all open faced sandwiches look delicious. I had the Pomidoro Fresco, and I can’t wait to go back to try more. I overheard they roast their beans in-house, and you can add CBD oil to any drink. The atmosphere is simple and the service is attentive and extremely friendly!

I always go to Doppio whenever I am in Lakeview. The well-decorated shop is family owned and operated by a great couple. Murat is engaging and a delight to talk with. The coffee is superb. This is a great Chicago find and truly worth five-stars. Definitely a better choice than a franchise coffee shop such as the Starbucks across the street.

Lots a seating, Italian dark roast style coffee. They roast their own beans so they are fresh. They serve sandwiches. The inside is not that cute, it’s plain.

The owners are very hospitable and genuinely care about their guests. It is a great place to bring a laptop and work as there is a good amount of seating and outlets everywhere.I drink their tea and find it quite delicious. The owner came over to my table to offer to fill up the tea pot used to steep the tea with more hot water so I could have more. Definitely recommend!

I lived and worked in Italy for a while. Ive long since missed our espresso breaks and since coming state side, Ive been trying to find a place that can make a similar quality espresso. After trying Doppios, I can definitely say they make the best espresso Ive had since I came back stateside. Will definitely be back. Very good!

They were very, very friendly. they care so much that your food and coffee are prepared and served to an expert standard. for my sake do not go here and abuse this hospitality by being rude or in a hurry.they serve open-faced sandwiches, and the one I had was beautiful and delicious, but it was absolutely not enough food for ten dollars. It was ten dollars for being very fancy and delicious, but i wish there had been something substantial to eat.The place is clean, and the decorations are very ugly. I had a very enjoyable visit, and i will return for coffee and work time, but probably wont eat there again.

Clean shop, fast service and good customer service. I got the chai latte and it was bomb. My wife got a cappuccino with lavender and honey and it was a little underwhelming. Definitely would come back again!

Convenient location, comfortable interior. It would be nice to spend a day here. The coffee is unfortunately where this all take a turn for the worst. I’ve never met a coffee shop owner or connoisseur who pushes you toward a dark roast coffee. Dark roasts by definition burn out the subtleties of coffee beans. This is fine if the coffee beans are poor quality. Red flag. I can barely choke down this cup of coffee. It starts with a taste of metallic and melted plastic and ends with a strong taste of burnt Teflon.If you’re a Starbucks drinker looking for a local shop alternate, this might just work for you. If you truly like the art of quality coffee, look elsewhere.

This is the best neighborhood coffee shop. I spent my Sunday here and was there for over two hours which includes 20 minutes after closing. Not once, did the staff make us feel unwelcome or like we had to leave even after closing.I had the berry good toast..heavenly. I love lemon and blueberries so this was the perfect combo with a healthy serving size! My perfect brunch!I also had the matcha latte with CBD and it wasnt too sweet, it was great!The staff was so friendly always helping the customers whether it is to open the door or ask if you needed anything else. I will be back every week!

Me and my Dad went this morning and we had an amazing experience, everyone there was so friendly, the customer service was incredible, the food was fresh and savory and the beverages were heavenly. Overall, I would say that Doppio is the best coffee place in the city.

The experience at Doppio not only met expectations but exceeded them, greatly.The lattes are bold with a well balanced flavor (try it with oat milk). Biting into the Pomidoro Fresco, one of seven signature open faced sandwhichs, was a moment of discovery. The sandwich topped with tart stewed cherry tomatoes, EVOO, and a dreamy mix of ricotta & mozzarella is the combined effort of Murat and wife (didnt catch her name, sorry). Carbs aside, Doppio is a thoughtful and friendly neighborhood cafe that is worth a detour.Go for the dark roast coffee, stay and dance away those jitters to the Berlin house tracks playing overhead.Update: Sept, 20, 2019Lightening does indeed strike twice. Since my previous review the world has obviously changed in a dramatic way. It is nice to see that this establishment has weathered the storm and continued to serve up great food. Today I tried Murat & Co newest delight, an open faced twist on the classic lox sandwich. Messy to eat, but o so worth it.
