First time here and it will Not be my last ! This place is full of good food, good people and good vibes. They serve breakfast all day and that’s a winner for me. I had the Grits bowl and it was really different as well as really good. Never thought to pile everything in a bowl of grits . My Chi tea latte was great and hit the spot as the weather is cooling down some… I got a peak at how to play chess which was cool too. I would have given 5 stars but they could use some extra help with cleaning as the tables were dirty and too many of gnats joined in on my meeting 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have been coming to Robust for quite a while even prior to the pandemic. The food is always fresh. I ordered a breakfast and lunch sandwich. It was a little pricey and it took a while to get it. Maybe I can order online for faster service. I had stopped coming due to a FB post that mentioned a situation with someone who was homeless. I was a little discouraged by the behavior of the establishment and hope that it was an isolated incident. I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt.

Very cool place, nice vibes, dope 80s soundtrack. Nostalgic newsprint, speakeasy aesthetic. The coffee was REALLY GOOD (white chocolate mocha), that biscuit was NOT a biscuit. Not at all suitable for a sandwich. It was 2 full slices of cornbread with my turkey sausage, egg and cheese in between. Terrible. Once the before-school crowd dissipated, it became extremely peaceful, and I immediately thought I couldve brought my laptop. Ill definitely return, and possibly bring others.

The service sucked but the food was acceptable. The cashier knew I was going to dine in and she not only put my food in to-go containers but also in a stapled bag. That didnt make the vibe welcoming even though I tipped them in advance. Also, they had someone walk to the back to do rounds like some type of security would, because I paid attention & she didnt even interact with us. Also, they give you numbers like a place like Culvers would, except they dont even bring your food to your table. This experience reminds me of service in the hood except its just woodlawn.

Excellent food / coffee. Funky. Music is ALWAYS WAY TOO LOUD is the one drawback. Bring headphones if you’re trying to study.

Everyone I know loves this place. Have had lunch and bagels here. Always excellent. Tried the banana bread French toast . Thought it would be excellent. Threw most of it in the trash. It was really bad.

This coffee Shop has zero integrity and zero consistency. First off, they are slow as hell. They put the slowest person on coffee. They have zero regard for people’s time. I ordered to pick up from Uber eats, it said an 50-55 minutes to pick up. Coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I don’t get home from work till 4am, so I feel asleep. I woke up later and sent my son to get my food. They told him they through it out. They took my money, through my food out and refused to remake it saying they were getting ready to close, yet they don’t close til 3pm. It’s a reason why the neighborhood keeps boycotting this place. The customer service sucks and the owner doesn’t care for people of color.

Came in for the first time, I had the Turkey sausage grits bowl with banana bread French toast. It was shockingly Delicious. Good and friendly Atmosphere.

Grits are good from here one of my coworkers took me here he said he always goes there to get his morning food it’s a good place to eat at.

Ive been trying different items on the menu to love this place as much as my partner does. I tried the Sausage Biscuit was more biscuit than sausage. The staff are always friendly and safe. I enjoy ALL the drinks and pastries. I hope to find something on the menu, I can love as much as my partner loves the Brisket Grilled Cheese.

Um. This is amazing. My spouse and I love their breakfast sandwiches. Gooey cheese and fried eggs on whatever kind of bread you can imagine.During COVID, we wanted to do something special for our team. We placed an order of 29 custom ordered sandwiches - had our folks fill out a Google Form - so easy! I called and spoke with Jake who told me to email him the order. Sent it in the night before and they were ready the next mid morning (at 10:30 AM). Reasonably priced, tasted oh-so-yummy and was a special treat for our team. Oh, and they honored our tax exempt.Will totally do this again in the future! Recommend!

I havent been here often but first visited a year ago and as this was my 4th time, its always pleasant and personable.

Food, drinks and atmosphere are usually good but recent experience hasnt been good. Ive been here twice in the past month. It isnt clean. Bathroom has paper towels all over the floor with no dispenser or basket to hold them and the toilet needs cleaning.Bugs along the windowsills and outlets covered in cobwebs. Ill give it some time before I come back.Update: still dirty and owner/manager isnt friendly at all.

Great little hidden gem... Good ambiance. Food was delicious, I ordered the super breakfast bowl and banana French toast all for around 14 bucks. You have to order at the counter and then they bring your food out, you also kinda bus your own table but none the less a great place.

Been a customer since 2013. They’ve grown a lot since then. They offer a good atmosphere, typically welcoming staff, and great drinks.However, the employee “Bird” is rude. Also, the food has took a turn and that’s what I usually come for. It now tastes like it’s seasoned with the tears of Karen. Would not recommend the food to my worst enemy.

I wanted to try a particular sandwich after seeing it on an episode of Chicago’s Best. The grilled cheese with Brisket was decent and there was plenty of brisket with every bite. The chips were a great add on and packed plenty of flavor. My bill was about $23 for two lunch box meals and a pastry. If you’re just interested in coffee, a smoothie or refreshing drink, there’s plenty of options and opportunity to try something new each visit. Call ahead to place an order if you know what you want and don’t have a lot of time to waste.

I ordered a Belgium waffle and returned it because it was made incorrectly and the manager was inappropriately disrespectful with me.He completely disregarded my ask, spoke over me in a disrespectful tone. He mocked me in the interaction and made me feel completely unwelcomed. I have NEVER been that disrespected in any establishment and actually have enjoyed EVERY previous time here.The staff was apologetic but ***the manager*** was horrendous. I absolutely cannot patronize this business, again.

Found this coffee shop on Uber Eats and really enjoyed the breakfast bowl with grits, so filling and yummy. I had to come in the following day to see for myself. Staff were kind and helpful, and I felt like I finally found my coffee shop. Loved the diversity and the homey feel with the chairs and vintage newspaper throughout. Iced coffee is slamming and my son loves the choc chip pancakes. Can’t wait until panorama is over with so I can get the full experience.

Great atmosphere. The menu is expansive and has something for everyone, including delicious hot items and good coffee. Majorly appreciate it as one of the only places to get a good smoothie in the area. COVID-cautious seating is plentiful and much appreciated, thanks so much to the staff for keeping up such a warm, pleasant environment!

Get the Peppermint hot chocolate..addictive. Have had a egee, cheese, turkey sausage croissant. I dont prefer the turkey sausage they use. But its still yummy. The lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel came with cucumber and tomato. I omit the tomato and add red onion.

Great neighborhood coffee shop that gets all of the basics right (good drinks, nice ambiance, adequate seating, wi-fi), and their food is delicious. The staff is very friendly and service is fast.

Great coffee for your money versus Starbucks.

Colectivo coffee is aromatic and good. However, the baristas and manager (maybe?) this morning, 4/3/21 have some unfriendly attitude that isn’t attractive at all. They’ll lose some customers if they continue the tone of their voice and behavior towards new customers.

So nice to visit a place that is more diverse in its customers and employees. I had a pleasant soy cappuccino and sat with my pup and read. While I did not eat, they seem to have a robust (ba dum chh) food menu that looks tasty. Music was a bit loud and the bathroom was messier than I cared for, but overall I plan to be back!

Robust is such a fantastic part of the woodlawn community. Great people, great coffee, great lunches, great space. Not to be missed.

This coffee house has lots of room, but isnt huge like a fast food joint. The background music tends to be lighter, like soul or smooth jazz. Ive been coming here since it opened and most of the customer service is good, though occasionally an employee with attitude pops up, however they disappear quickly too. The food is pricey, but what coffee house doesnt cost a little bit of money, still the food does have that at home taste instead that processed flavor. Only once and awhile does a Independent film shoot here and usually its in the back room. Ocassionally someone I havent seen comes in and I catch up. The neighborhood is safe and in the back they have parking, plus there is ample parking on the street. I will keep it real it does get crowded when the local schools and churches let out, but they come and go, then its quiet again. Overall, I give it two thumbs up, its a great alternative to Starbucks (No shade to Starbucks, but yall establishment be crowded, a small selection, and that muzak (even though high quality) has got to go.) Later.✌

Me and a group of friends from out of town stopped in for some breakfast. My friend asked for cup of water THATS IT! The guy I’m guessing the manager was so rude about it he said “you guys think you’re the only people in the world.” Which was HIGHLY unprofessional! Then proceeded to go back and forth with my friend like we were less then or didn’t deserve to be there in the first place. The cashier was friendly either. This happened 2/20/21 around 10 am. A friendly blonde lady made sure we were taken care of but the customer service in this store is trash!

When I walked inside the music sounded so good my first time ever been there the young lady behind the counter explained everything in details because Im vision-impaired. This is one of my favorite cafes, the food is excellent and drinks are refreshing, I am nutty for the cookie butter pancakes, robust breakfast bowls and their Frappe drinks and smoothies

My second time here. The young lady at the register is very friendly, greets you, makes you feel welcomed. The young man on the bar making drinks, not so much. You walk in, he makes eye contact, and then proceeds to not say anything. Something minute, but youd be surprised how people notice and decide to patronize on stuff like this

I ordered a medium coffee and a breakfast bowl. The counter staff was quick and kind. Sitting down with my coffee I enjoyed the view and music. When the wait staff brought my food it looked really good and was quite satisfying. The only thing keeping it from getting five stars was there fact that one of our parties food didnt arrive until after two of us had finished.

I had a bagel and lox with a banana chai smoothie. My total was approximately $13. The Bagel was fresh had a substantial amount of cream cheese and plenty of vegetables and lox. The banana chai was sick and definitely had the banana flavor as a fresh banana was used. I personally like my child little stronger, so in the future when I return, I would ask for extra chai. The staff was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was chipper and social. The establishment was also very clean with plenty of seating. A very trendy little neighborhood Cafe!

Definitely a place I could go back to multiple times.For my breakfast sandwich, I chose bacon, sausage, egg, cheese and avocado on an everything-bagel which turned out to be a great combo. Would have liked some hot sauce though.

An awesome local place that feels like its always been there. Try the Uncle Max for a steamed bagel sandwich that is uniquely delicious. Their biscuits are also something else! Naturally, grab whatever drink you like... Im not a coffee person but their smoothies are really delicious. Try the Green Supreme for something a tiny bit more healthy. Maybe.

Robust is a nice coffee shop. Robust has a nice and easy building design. There are so many things to buy that is good. There staff is kind of mean once in awhile but so far the lounge is like a local Starbucks

Beautiful Coffee Lounge in an Urban environment. The associates are always helpful and polite and consistent in keeping all areas clean. The menu has varying options for those who may be Vegan/Vegetarian as coffee shops do not typically accommodate. There is plenty of free parking around this lively neighborhood! Robust Coffee Lounge provides an excellent space for you to conduct casual business meetings, host small gatherings, complete your personal/business/entrepreneurial work, or if you are just looking to hang out! I would definitely recommend visiting 😊!

Great space, very busy, people reading, talking, working, playing chess. Good coffee and smoothie drinks. Two negatives: Other than the drinks, which you can get with non-dairy milks there is nothing vegan and very little vegetarian. Also, what happened to the bookshelves filled with books you could sit with?

The owner(white) was being dismissive and rude when I was explaining how I felt about the way he was talking to me. I told him that I felt disrespected me and started in my face talking about thats your prerogative and youre flipping what I said. All I wanted was for him to acknowledge that the way he approached me with the tone he had wasnt cool at all. However, I see that he could care less. WE NEED MORE BLACK BUSINESSES

I like the atmosphere of Robust. The seating options are comfortable, the back area is large and can accommodate more people than the front area. Customer service is great, the food is good as well. Last time I visited about a week ago I ordered a biscuit and it was not as great as they usually are. Maybe because it was later in the day, Im not sure. Overall I have pleasant experiences here and out of the many times Ive been here this was the only time I was let down by the biscuit.

Always friendly staff, hot, amazing food and a great cup of coffee! My go-to is the breakfast bowl with grits and sausage or the feta chicken wrap. The BLT is like no other... definitely a hidden gem!!!
