This place is great because they have a very good variety of leotards. My daughter was very pleased with the selection. The staff are always accommodating and nice. They do have pointe shoes in stock and appointment is required ahead if time.

Just purchased my daughters first pair of pointe shoes here and had a very pleasant experience. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and asked if we needed help. The young lady who assisted us was very nice, helpful and really took her time in making sure my daughter left with the shoes that best fit her. We will definitely be coming back!

Its so convenient to have a local dance-wear store to go to. This is definitely my go-to store. Whenever Ive needed leotards, palazzo pants, dance shoes or anything for my daughter for the last 8 years, Ive always come here. Their patient and friendly staff are the best!

I bought my first pair of adult ballet shoes here. The woman that helped me was kind and knowledgeable. She gave me some great tips about beginning ballet class too!

The store is nice and clean the customer service is good and they take the time to fit the dancer for the right pointe shoe. But 1 helper did too Much as far as her knowledge of pointe shoe fitting. If a dancer wants to try a shoe, let them try the shoe. She was trying to explain why a certain shoe would not work for a certain foot. We did not get the shoe my daughter wanted but went to another dance supply store and sure enough my daughter love the exact shoe that we wanted to fit at motions. The workers should stay in her place and fit the shoe and not try to be a podiatrist or expert in shoe fitting when youre not.

Need more dance gear and service was not as helpful as I wouldve liked.

Was a little hesitant going into Motion Unlimited because of all the bad reviews I had seen but I was so pleasantly surprised! I was greeted immediately by a sales associate, told her I needed new jazz shoes and she immediately knew about what brands they had in stock. Told her my size and preference and was quickly on my way out. Ill definitely be returning!

Prices are high but they always have what I am looking for in stock and staff is very helpful

Absolutely terrible customer service! This is my 2nd burn! My 1st: after being on the phone with an employee helping me locate the store (its difficult to find) @5:53p, I finally make it to the front door of the store. It is now 5:55p, an employee walks away from the front of the store to the back. I pulled on the now locked door in utter amazement. I understand that they close @6p, but I had previously called, had my item supposedly waiting at the counter, AND HAD JUST TALKED TO AN EMPLOYEE, WHO GAVE ME DIRECTIONS 2 MINUTES PRIOR! Why not just say maam Im sorry but were closing soon or better yet wait til 6:00 to close. My 8 year old, who had a performance the following day, immediately cried.Today, I thought Id give them another chance. I walked around the store for over 30 min (you can see the entire store in 5min) and no one asked if I needed help. So I began to grab random items and headed for the counter. I waited and additional 5 minutes, then left piles of merchandise right there on the counter. I will never be back, Im not sure what makes me look like my $ isnt good here, but thats twice. Lesson learned!

The girls working are incredibly helpful every time I go in. However, the store itself is intimidating and I think that playing music out in the front of the store would serve as beneficial. It’s a DANCE store not a government office!

Yes the building is odd but it is easy to find. Have been there several times for pointe shoes and have always had a great experience compared to other stores we have been too.

Wow so... the previous poster and I share the exact same experience. I phoned the store and told them I was on my way and would be there minutes before they closed. They said ok as long as you arrive here by 5. I took an uber across town and literally ran to the elevator to make it in time. Got to the door of the store at 4:59 and the lights were off. I waved thinking hey it’s me the girl from the phone- surely you’ll let me in since I spoke to you ten minutes ago. But no. Horrible customer service girl cracks the door and says sorry, we already closed our registers. Our owners policy is that we shut the registers at 5. First of all- I have managed a retail store and I happen to know that it takes a few minutes to count the money and go through the process of closing your registers. I showed up at 4:59 so clearly they started shutting down before the store was supposed to be closed. On a regular day, it’s slow, it’s warm outside and you are a 20 something your anxious to get off work to have fun in the sun, I get it. Shut it down let’s go home. But when a customer CALLS you and tells you they are on their way and will show up minutes before you close and you say ok.... I’m sorry but shutting down the registers before closing time when you know I’m on my way let’s me know my business and my would be referrals are not needed or welcomed. I was going to call the owner to complain but I’ll leave this here. This isn’t the first complaint of its kind.

Please beware when ordering anything from this store. I have ordered pointe shoes from Motions multiple times and when the shoes are not in stock it takes 3 months and multiple phone calls to receive the shoes. For example I ordered shoes at the very beginning of January and just received them today. Multiple other dancers at my studio have had the same issue.

I stopped in last week to pick up a pair of canvas technique shoes, as mine have embarrassingly large holes in the toes. I had never been to this store, but it is close to my work so I thought I would stop in during my lunch break. The entire process should have taken five minutes, as I had already checked their website to make sure the brand of shoe I needed was available. I know my size so all they needed to do was grab a pair from the back, swipe my card, and I would be on my way. No such luck! I stood at the counter for 10 minutes with the sample shoe and NO ONE even so much as mumbled a, Ill be right with you. The best part was when another woman and her daughter walked in, the employee I can only assume was reading her newsfeed on FB jumped right up to help them. Needless to say I left the overpriced canvas shoe on the counter and waltzed out. I will give them 5 stars for wasting my time. Brava!
