Dat Donut has to be one of the best Donut shops in Chicago and they are black owned. They also have the best breakfast croissant sandwiches made with a healthy choice of turkey bacon or turkey sausage. Just to let you know how good they are, my family and I was supposed to be heading back to Memphis at 6:30 a.m.this morning and we waited for them to start serving breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Thanks to Dat Donut for such great service.

I came here on a Sunday morning 8ish, and the ladies there were friendly and attentive. They got our order just right. Croissant breakfast sandwich and a delicious strawberry donut with coffee. Not good for everyday a little greasy but a little treat.

Donuts are excellent especially the big dat. Only issue is the parking lot and the pan handlers begging for money. Other than that I go as often as Im working in the area.

Their donuts are always fresh, tasty and simply amazing.

I absolutely fell in love with the Big Dat glazed donut. It absolutely melts in your mouth when you take a bite! It was warm, buttery, and soft in the inside.The customer service was alright, but the donuts were incredibly delicious and home made! It was my first time trying them out and it won’t be my last.

Breakfast sandwich on the croissant pretty good...service is super slow tho...orders were getting mixed up. My goal was to order in advance...the young lady rudely told me .... NO when attempting to do so over the phone....go figure

This place does simple very well! The glazed donut is to die for. Also you can get a strawberry or a pineapple. The owner is always around and there is parking in front. I would also suggest picking up BBQ before you leave because this spot is attached to another storefront. Also a taco window is being opened up in the same location 🙌🏾

Amazing donuts. Got them at an off hour, around 3pm, and they were still fresh and absolutely delicious. We got the chocolate long john and the pineapple, both were airy and perfectly fried so they had a light crust but a soft interior, and they were sweet but not too much so. And they are so inexpensive, we regretted not getting a dozen. Cant wait to go back!

The quintessential donut shop. Really excellent donuts that are very fresh and last a long time.... But how can they last when they taste that good?I heartily recommend the monster glazed yeast donut.I havent found a better donut in Chicago. Too bad my first time was yesterday. I only found it because they were talking about it on PBS on one of the pandemic programs and how local businesses are dealing with it. Theyre always fresh and if they get cold, heat them in the microwave for a few seconds and oh yeah!! If you havent tried them, Please try one or two one day. Finally went here for the first time after I kept seeing the hype about their amazing donuts on TV. I had the pineapple (which I thought was lemon) and Big Dat donuts. Really good donuts! I even went to the BBQ place next door and got some rib tips from there. That was also really good!

Went Sunday a few weeks ago donut were not fresh, had been sitting there a while, & not a large variety at the time

It was packed. I had to wait 30 to 40 minutes for my order.

Did a quick visit, before heading to the barber shop. I was greeted promptly when I entered the door. The variety of donuts that was available, AND fresh was a bit overwhelming, to the point, I had to take 5 minutes just to decide which flavors I wanted! The young ladies behind the counter was very friendly and courteous! I selected, at the suggestion of another patron, the pineapple (yeast), and German chocolate cake donuts.... Ooooo-weee good! Donuts are made fresh daily and they melt in your mouth. Remind me of OLD FASHION DONUTS, where you could see them come out the grease. This place donuts taste the same. I would highly recommend this place and its black owned.
