Staff was so kind and helpful. Community is important to them and they were so eager to discuss patters and yarny things. They love what they do and it really shows! And my yarn is so soft and shiny

I visited Firefly Fiber Arts Studio last weekend to take advantage of their “Intro to Crochet” class. I purchased a class voucher as well as a beginners kit through their Indiegogo campaign before they had opened and have been looking forward to learning how to crochet. When walking into the store you are introduced to their retail space, which offers a plethora of yarns in varying colors and textures, and welcomed by their friendly staff. The class is held in a private room towards the back of the store. This particular time slot (Saturday from 2-3:00 pm) is led by the co-owner of the store, Sarah. With the classes being very new, the size was small which was excellent for me. Mainly because I got a lot of one on one time. (Three days later I am half way through my first scarf project). I was very happy with the class overall and the atmosphere in the store itself was calm and pleasant. You can even hang out in their lounge space to work on your projects after class. That staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the selection of yarns available, which is all organic/vegan/sustainable, and will definitely be back to stock up on material for my next project!

Amazing local shop. Great variety of yarns and tools. Took the intro to crochet and Sarah was an amazing teacher, picked it up fast with her patiently showing all the techniques. Wonderful conversation as well while learning the techniques!!

The girls there were super friendly and knowledgable. My first there to pop in and see the selection. Its a small location but it was cool to see Chicago spun yarn and a cool group of people. Would definitely like to visit again when Im back this way!

Small LYS with a warm atmosphere. Nice selection of local and indie dyed yarns that you won’t find at just any shop. Lots of shop samples. Owner was friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely stop back in when we’re in town again.

I stopped in the store just after noon today. The owner greeted me and told me about the fibers they carry. So many pretty colors, fibers and squishables. The finished projects were so pretty. I asked about a crocheted scarf and the owner (Im SO sorry her name has fled my brain), but she got right on the computer and found the name and the pattern on Ravelry. She told me about the knit night, upcoming classes and was very helpful. Be sure and stop by if youre in the area.

Friendly people who fix knitting, I never feel obligated to purchase, but since they have the best yarn, I usually do.

Not a huge selection of yarn, but the staff was very welcoming and it seems like itd be a lovely place to take classes or go for a group knitting sesh.

This is a wonderful store! As a first time knitter, the two ladies who run this store got me set up, answered all my questions and were very friendly and welcoming. They offer a lot of great free instructional videos on their site, having completed a few of them now, they look great and are very accessible to beginners. I strongly believe in supporting local businesses and I’m definitely going to give them as much of my business as I can!
